In a general paging listening strategy, the later paging cycle of the paging order may have a longer cycle length. The length of the period monitored by adopting any paging cycle can be larger than the duration of the paging cycle. Taking the first period length as an example, the duration of the first period may be an integer multiple of the first paging cycle, for example, the first period includes 5 first paging cycles; or a non-integer multiple of the first paging cycle, e.g., the first period includes 3.5 first paging cycles. In the above embodiment of the present invention, before determining the first used paging cycle after entering the idle state and the corresponding period length, the method further includes:

extracting configuration information from a received system information block sent by a network side, wherein the configuration information comprises each paging cycle used by UE, the paging sequence of each paging cycle and the time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;

and the UE generates the paging monitoring strategy according to the configuration information.

Specifically, the information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE needs to be reported to the mobility management entity MME on the network side, and after the MME learns the information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE, the MME can realize the unification with the paging cycle information on the UE side. In the reporting process, all the paging cycles pre-configured in the UE may be reported to the MME, or the paging cycle used by the UE may be reported, and the paging cycle used by the UE may be a part of all the paging cycles. The paging cycle sent by the network side eNB to the UE is multiple, and the UE can report the paging cycle used by the UE when reporting the paging cycle, and can also report the multiple paging cycles sent by the network side eNB to the UE. It should be noted that, when reporting each paging cycle to the MME, the UE also carries the paging order of each paging cycle and the time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, the sending of the information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE to the network side is:

step S301, when a mobility management entity MME needs to page a user equipment UE in an idle state, determining a currently used paging cycle according to the time length of the UE in the idle state and a paging monitoring strategy used by the UE, wherein the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;

step S302, sending the determined paging cycle currently used by the UE to an evolution base station eNB through a paging message.

Specifically, as shown in fig. 8, the MME receives a message that the UE enters an idle state, which is sent by the eNB. After receiving the message, when paging needs to be sent to the UE, determining a currently used paging cycle according to the time length of the UE in an idle state and a paging monitoring strategy used by the UE, and forwarding the paging message to the UE through the ENB.

As shown in fig. 9, in forwarding, a paging message is first sent to the eNB, where the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE. And sending the determined paging cycle currently used by the UE to the eNB through the paging message, so that the eNB calculates the paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE and sends paging to the UE when the paging occasion arrives.

It should be noted that, in general, the length of the paging cycle may be shorter for the paging cycle that is ranked earlier in the paging order, and the length of the paging cycle may be longer for the paging cycle that is ranked later. And when the paging message cannot be monitored by adopting the former paging cycle, the latter paging cycle is selected. Because the length of the later paging cycle is large, the time of the sleep state is longer, so that the UE can save electricity and reduce power consumption.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, before paging a UE in an idle state, the method may further include:

Specifically, the MME on the network side receives the information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE, and after acquiring the information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE, the MME can realize unification with the paging cycle information on the UE side. The MME may receive all paging cycles pre-configured in the UE, or may receive a paging cycle used by the UE, where the paging cycle used by the UE may be a part of all paging cycles. The paging cycle transmitted by the eNB to the UE is multiple, and the MME may receive the paging cycle used by the UE, or may receive multiple paging cycles transmitted by the eNB to the UE.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, the receiving information of the paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE sent by the UE is:

Specifically, the ATTACH REQUEST message in the ATTACH procedure includes multiple DRX parameters, multiple paging cycles are attached to the multiple DRX parameters, and the information of the paging listening policy adopted by the UE, which is sent by the UE, can be received by receiving the ATTACH REQUEST message. Wherein the paging cycle attached to each DRX parameter identifies the paging order of the paging cycle, and the duration monitored by the paging cycle. Or

When the ATTACH REQUEST message of the ATTACH procedure contains only one DRX parameter, only one paging cycle may be attached and the MME may receive one paging cycle. A multi-paging cycle REQUEST is then received through dedicated RRC signaling, carrying all paging cycles or other paging cycles except the paging cycle attached to the DRX parameter contained in the ATTACH REQUEST message.

As shown in fig. 10, the overall flow chart of the paging method according to the embodiment of the present invention:

step S401, receiving information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE and sent by the UE.

Step S402, when needing to page a UE in idle state, MME determines the paging cycle used currently according to the time length of the UE in idle state and the paging monitoring strategy used by the UE.

Step S403, sending the determined paging cycle currently used by the UE to the eNB through a paging message.

An embodiment of the present invention provides a paging method, as shown in fig. 11, including:

step S501, an evolution base station eNB receives a paging message which is sent by a mobility management entity MME and aims at a user equipment UE, wherein the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE;

step S502, calculating a paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE, and sending paging to the UE when the paging occasion arrives.

Specifically, the eNB monitors the state of the UE, and sends a message that the UE is in an idle state to the MME when the UE is in the idle state; when the MME needs to page the UE, receiving a paging message which is sent by the MME and aims at the UE, wherein the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE. And calculating a paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE carried in the acquired paging message, and sending paging to the UE when the paging occasion arrives. The currently used paging cycle is determined by the MME according to the time length of the idle state of the UE and the paging monitoring strategy used by the UE.

The paging listening strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, paging orders of the paging cycles, and the time interval length of listening by adopting the paging cycles. In general, the earlier in the paging sequence, the shorter the length of the paging cycle may be, and the later in the paging sequence, the longer the length of the paging cycle may be. And when the paging message cannot be monitored by adopting the former paging cycle, the latter paging cycle is selected. Because the length of the later paging cycle is large, the time of the sleep state is longer, so that the UE can save electricity and reduce power consumption.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, before receiving a paging message for a UE sent by an MME, the method further includes:

sending a system information block carrying configuration information to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the configuration information; the configuration information includes each paging cycle for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle.

Specifically, the configuration information of the system information block sent by the eNB to the UE includes a plurality of different paging cycles, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle, and the UE generates a paging monitoring policy that can determine a currently used paging cycle according to the obtained configuration information.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, before receiving a paging message for a UE sent by an MME, the method further includes:

sending a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the RRC message; the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle.

Specifically, before receiving a paging message for a UE sent by an MME, an eNB on a network side sends an RRC message to the UE, where the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle, and the UE generates a paging monitoring policy that can determine a currently used paging cycle according to the obtained RRC message.

As shown in fig. 12, the overall steps of the paging method according to the embodiment of the present invention are as follows:

step S601, sending configuration information to UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the configuration information; or sending an RRC message to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the RRC message.

Step S602, the eNB receives a paging message which is sent by the MME and aims at a UE, wherein the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE.

Step S603, calculating a paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE, and sending a page to the UE when the paging occasion arrives.

An embodiment of the present invention provides a paging listening device, as shown in fig. 13, including:

an obtaining module 10, configured to obtain a preset paging monitoring policy after a user equipment UE enters an idle state, where the paging monitoring policy includes multiple different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;

a first determining module 20, configured to determine, according to the paging monitoring policy, a first used paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length after entering an idle state, and use the first used paging cycle as a current paging cycle;

a monitoring module 30, configured to monitor a paging message sent by a network side according to a current paging cycle;

and an update processing module 40, configured to update the current paging cycle according to the paging monitoring policy if the corresponding time interval length is monitored by using the current paging cycle in an idle state, and trigger the monitoring module 30 to monitor a paging message sent by a network side according to the current paging cycle.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, the update processing module 40 includes:

a judging submodule 41, configured to judge whether a current paging cycle is a last paging cycle in the paging order;

a first sub-module 42, configured to, when the current paging cycle is the last paging cycle in the paging sequence, keep the current paging cycle unchanged, or update the first paging cycle in the paging sequence to the current paging cycle;

a second sub-module 43, configured to determine a next paging cycle of the current paging cycle in the paging order and update the next paging cycle to the current paging cycle when the current paging cycle is not the last paging cycle in the paging order.

In the above embodiments of the present invention, the length of the monitoring period in any paging cycle is greater than the duration of the paging cycle.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, the monitoring module 30 is further configured to: and when monitoring by adopting the current paging cycle in an idle state, if a paging message sent by a network side is received and connection with the network side is established according to the paging message, exiting the idle state.

In the above embodiments of the present invention, in the paging listening policy, the later paging cycle of the paging order has a longer cycle length.

In the above embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus further includes:

a fourth sending module 160, configured to send a radio resource control RRC message to a UE before the third receiving module 130 receives a paging message, which is sent by an MME and is addressed to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring policy according to the RRC message; the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle.

According to the paging monitoring and paging method provided by the embodiment of the invention, a plurality of paging cycles are set for the UE, the MME is informed of the plurality of set paging cycles or the paging cycles used by the UE, when the MME pages the UE, the paging cycle currently used by the UE is determined, the determined paging cycle is informed to the eNB, the eNB pages the UE according to the paging cycle informed by the MME, and whether a paging message exists or not is detected according to a fixed cycle relative to the UE, so that the power consumption of the UE can be saved, and the user experience can be improved.

It should be noted that the paging monitoring and paging device provided by the present invention is a device applying the above method, and all embodiments of the above method are applicable to the device, and can achieve the same or similar beneficial effects.

Claims (28)

1. A method for paging listening, comprising:
after entering an idle state, User Equipment (UE) acquires a preset paging monitoring strategy, wherein the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;
sending information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a network side, wherein each paging cycle used by the UE is pre-configured in the UE or selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
determining a first used paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length after entering an idle state according to the paging monitoring strategy, and taking the first used paging cycle as a current paging cycle;
monitoring a paging message sent by a network side according to a current paging cycle;
if the corresponding time interval length is monitored by adopting the current paging cycle in an idle state, updating the current paging cycle according to the paging monitoring strategy, and returning to the step of monitoring the paging message sent by the network side according to the current paging cycle.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein updating a current paging cycle according to the paging listening policy comprises:
judging whether the current paging cycle is the last paging cycle in the paging sequence;
if so, keeping the current paging cycle unchanged, or updating the first paging cycle in the paging sequence to the current paging cycle;
otherwise, determining the next paging cycle of the current paging cycle in the paging sequence, and updating the next paging cycle to be the current paging cycle.
3. The method of claim 1, wherein the duration of the listening period in any paging cycle is greater than the duration of the paging cycle.
4. The method of claim 1,
and when monitoring by adopting the current paging cycle in an idle state, if a paging message sent by a network side is received and connection with the network side is established according to the paging message, exiting the idle state.
5. The method of claim 1, wherein a paging cycle that is further back in a paging order in the paging listening strategy has a longer cycle length.
6. The method of claim 1,
before determining a paging cycle to be used first after entering an idle state and a corresponding period length, the method further includes:
extracting configuration information from a received system information block sent by a network side, wherein the configuration information comprises a plurality of different paging cycles for UE to use, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;
and the UE generates the paging monitoring strategy according to the configuration information.
7. The method of claim 1,
before determining a paging cycle to be used first after entering an idle state and a corresponding period length, the method further includes:
receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message sent by an evolution base station (eNB), wherein the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles for UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;
and generating the paging monitoring strategy according to the RRC message.
8. The method of claim 1, wherein the sending the information of the paging listening policy adopted by the UE to the network side is:
and the UE sends the information of the paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a Mobile Management Entity (MME) at a network side through a discontinuous reception parameter (DRX parameter) and/or an RRC signaling in an ATTACH REQUEST ATTACH REQUEST message.
9. A method for paging, comprising:
when a mobile management entity MME needs to page user equipment UE in an idle state, determining a currently used paging cycle according to the time length of the UE in the idle state and a paging monitoring strategy used by the UE, wherein the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle; the method comprises the steps that the UE sends information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a network side, and each paging cycle used by the UE is pre-configured in the UE or selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
and sending the determined paging cycle currently used by the UE to an evolved node B (eNB) through a paging message.
10. The method of claim 9,
before paging a UE in an idle state, the method further comprises:
and receiving information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE, wherein the information is sent by the UE, and the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle.
11. The method of claim 10,
the information for receiving the paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE and sent by the UE is as follows:
and receiving the information of the paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE, which is sent by the UE, through a discontinuous reception parameter DRX parameter and/or a radio resource control RRC signaling in an ATTACH REQUEST ATTACH REQUEST message.
12. A method for paging, comprising:
an evolution base station eNB receives a paging message which is sent by a mobility management entity MME and aims at a user equipment UE, wherein the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE; the method comprises the steps that the UE sends information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a network side, and each paging cycle used by the UE is pre-configured in the UE or selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
and calculating a paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE, and sending paging to the UE when the paging occasion arrives.
13. The method of claim 12,
before receiving a paging message for a UE sent by an MME, the method further includes:
sending a system information block carrying configuration information to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the configuration information; wherein the configuration information comprises a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a period length monitored by each paging cycle.
14. The method of claim 12,
before receiving a paging message for a UE sent by an MME, the method further includes:
sending a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring strategy according to the RRC message; the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle.
15. A paging listening device, comprising:
the system comprises an acquisition module, a processing module and a monitoring module, wherein the acquisition module is used for acquiring a preset paging monitoring strategy after User Equipment (UE) enters an idle state, and the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;
a first determining module, configured to determine, according to the paging monitoring policy, a first used paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length after entering an idle state, and use the first used paging cycle as a current paging cycle;
the monitoring module is used for monitoring the paging message sent by the network side according to the current paging cycle;
a first sending module, configured to send, to a network side, information of a paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE before the first used paging cycle and a corresponding period length after the first determining module determines to enter an idle state, where the paging monitoring policy includes a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a period length monitored by each paging cycle, and each paging cycle used by the UE is pre-configured in the UE or selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
and the updating processing module is used for updating the current paging cycle according to the paging monitoring strategy and triggering the monitoring module to monitor the paging message sent by the network side according to the current paging cycle if the corresponding time interval length is monitored by adopting the current paging cycle in an idle state.
16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the update processing module comprises:
a judging submodule for judging whether the current paging cycle is the last paging cycle in the paging sequence;
a first sub-module, configured to, when a current paging cycle is a last paging cycle in the paging order, keep the current paging cycle unchanged, or update a first paging cycle in the paging order to the current paging cycle;
a second sub-module, configured to determine a next paging cycle of the current paging cycle in the paging order and update the next paging cycle to the current paging cycle when the current paging cycle is not a last paging cycle in the paging order.
17. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the duration of the listening period in any paging cycle is greater than the duration of the paging cycle.

an extracting module, configured to extract configuration information from a received system information block sent by a network side before the first determining module determines a paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length, where the paging cycle and the corresponding time interval length are first used after entering an idle state, and the configuration information includes a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE to use, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle;
and a first generating module, configured to generate the paging monitoring policy according to the configuration information.
21. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the apparatus further comprises:
a first receiving module, configured to receive a radio resource control RRC message sent by an evolved node b eNB before the first determining module determines a first used paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length after entering an idle state, where the RRC message carries multiple different paging cycles for a UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle;
and a second generating module, configured to generate the paging monitoring policy according to the RRC message.
22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the first sending module is further for
And sending the information of the paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a Mobility Management Entity (MME) at the network side through a discontinuous reception parameter (DRX parameter) and/or RRC signaling in an ATTACH REQUEST ATTACH REQUEST message.
23. A paging device, comprising:
a second determining module, configured to determine, when a user equipment UE in an idle state needs to be paged, a currently used paging cycle according to a time length of the UE in the idle state and a paging monitoring policy used by the UE, where the paging monitoring policy includes a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle; before a first determining module determines a first used paging cycle and a corresponding time interval length after entering an idle state, sending information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a network side, wherein the paging monitoring strategy comprises a plurality of different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging sequence of each paging cycle and the time interval length monitored by each paging cycle, and each paging cycle used by the UE is configured in the UE in advance or is selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
and a second sending module, configured to send the determined paging cycle currently used by the UE to an evolved nodeb eNB through a paging message.
24. The apparatus of claim 23, wherein the apparatus further comprises:
a second receiving module, configured to receive, before the second determining module pages a UE in an idle state, information of a paging monitoring policy adopted by the UE sent by the UE, where the paging monitoring policy includes multiple different paging cycles used by the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by each paging cycle.
25. The apparatus of claim 24, wherein the second receiving module is further for
And receiving the information of the paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE, which is sent by the UE, through a discontinuous reception parameter DRX parameter and/or a radio resource control RRC signaling in an ATTACH REQUEST ATTACH REQUEST message.
26. A paging device, comprising:
a third receiving module, configured to receive a paging message, which is sent by a mobility management entity MME and is addressed to a user equipment UE, where the paging message carries a paging cycle currently used by the UE; the method comprises the steps that the UE sends information of a paging monitoring strategy adopted by the UE to a network side, and each paging cycle used by the UE is pre-configured in the UE or selected from a plurality of paging cycles received by the UE from the network side;
and the processing module is used for calculating a paging occasion according to the paging cycle currently used by the UE and sending paging to the UE when the paging occasion arrives.
27. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the apparatus further comprises:
a third sending module, configured to send a system information block carrying configuration information to a UE before the third receiving module receives a paging message, which is sent by an MME and is addressed to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring policy according to the configuration information; wherein the configuration information comprises a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a period length monitored by each paging cycle.
28. The apparatus of claim 26, wherein the apparatus further comprises:
a fourth sending module, configured to send a radio resource control RRC message to a UE before the third receiving module receives a paging message, which is sent by an MME and is addressed to the UE, so that the UE generates a paging monitoring policy according to the RRC message; the RRC message carries a plurality of different paging cycles for the UE, a paging order of each paging cycle, and a time interval length monitored by using each paging cycle.
