背景技术
电池将由电池中化学物质的电化学氧化还原反应产生的化学能转化为电能。这样的电池分为:应在消耗所有能量之后被处理的一次电池,和可再充电许多次的可再充电电池。基于化学能和电能之间的可逆转化,可再充电电池可充电/放电许多次。高科技电子装置近来的发展已经容许电子设备变为小的和重量轻的,这导致便携式电子设备的增加。这样的便携式电子设备越来越需要具有高能量密度的电池作为电源。因此,对可再充电锂电池的研究正在活跃地进行。
可再充电锂电池是通过将电解质注入电极组件中制造的,所述电极组件包括:包含能够嵌入/脱嵌锂的正极活性物质的正极,和包含能够嵌入/脱嵌锂的负极活性物质的负极。
电解质包括其中溶解锂盐的有机溶剂并且起到决定可再充电锂电池的稳定性和性能的关键作用。特别地,在大容量可再充电锂电池的情况下,稳定性是更重要的。

所述电解质添加剂将它的环打开以与氧气结合,然后发生再环化以形成环状化合物和在电极表面上形成膜,且由此,可捕获在电池中产生的氧气。当使用4-甲基-2-[(2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-八氟戊基)氧基]-1,3,2-二氧杂磷杂环己烷作为所述添加剂时,所述化合物捕获有在充电和放电期间产生的氧气,即与所述氧气结合,并且转化为由化学式1B表示的化合物。

基于所述电解质的总量,可以约0.1重量%-20重量%的量包括所述电解质添加剂。在以上范围内,电解质的电化学性能和热稳定性可改善,同时不使电池性能恶化。

所述非水有机溶剂起到传输参与电池电化学反应的离子的作用。
所述非水有机溶剂可包括基于碳酸酯的溶剂、基于酯的溶剂、基于醚的溶剂、基于酮的溶剂、基于醇的溶剂、或非质子溶剂。所述基于碳酸酯的溶剂可包括碳酸二甲酯(DMC)、碳酸二乙酯(DEC)、碳酸二丙酯(DPC)、碳酸甲丙酯(MPC)、碳酸乙丙酯(EPC)、碳酸甲乙酯(EMC)、碳酸亚乙酯(EC)、碳酸亚丙酯(PC)、碳酸亚丁酯(BC)等,和所述基于酯的溶剂可包括乙酸甲酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸正丙酯、乙酸叔丁酯、丙酸甲酯、丙酸乙酯、γ-丁内酯、癸内酯、γ-戊内酯、甲瓦龙酸内酯、己内酯等。

所述非水有机溶剂可单独使用或以混合物使用。当所述有机溶剂以混合物使用时,可根据电池的期望性能控制其混合比。
所述基于碳酸酯的溶剂可包括环状碳酸酯和链状碳酸酯的混合物。所述环状碳酸酯和所述链状碳酸酯以约1:1-约1:9的体积比混合在一起,这可增强电解质的性能。
此外,可通过进一步向所述基于碳酸酯的溶剂加入基于芳烃的有机溶剂而制备所述非水有机溶剂。所述基于碳酸酯的溶剂和所述基于芳烃的有机溶剂以约1:1-约30:1的体积比混合在一起。

所述锂盐溶解在所述非水有机溶剂中并且在可再充电锂电池中供应锂锂离子,和基本上运行所述可再充电锂电池且改善正极和负极之间的锂离子传输。这样的锂盐包括如下的一种或多种:LiPF6、LiBF4、LiSbF6、LiAsF6、LiN(SO2C2F5)2、Li(CF3SO2)2N、LiN(SO3C2F5)2、LiC4F9SO3、LiClO4、LiAlO2、LiAlCl4、LiN(CxF2x+1SO2)(CyF2y+1SO2)(其中x和y是自然数)、LiCl、和LiI。

所述粘合剂改善将活性物质颗粒彼此粘合以及将负极活性物质与集流体粘合的性质。所述粘合剂包括非水溶性粘合剂、水溶性粘合剂、或其组合。所述非水溶性粘合剂包括聚氯乙烯、羧化聚氯乙烯、聚氟乙烯、含亚乙基氧的聚合物、聚乙烯基吡咯烷酮、聚氨酯、聚四氟乙烯、聚偏氟乙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酰胺酰亚胺、聚酰亚胺、或其组合。所述水溶性粘合剂包括丁苯橡胶、丙烯酸类改性的(丙烯酸(酯)化的)丁苯橡胶、聚乙烯醇、聚丙烯酸钠、丙烯与C2-C8烯烃的共聚物、(甲基)丙烯酸和(甲基)丙烯酸烷基酯的共聚物、或其组合。当使用所述水溶性粘合剂作为负极粘合剂时,可进一步使用基于纤维素的化合物以提供粘度。所述基于纤维素的化合物包括如下的一种或多种:羧甲基纤维素、羟丙基甲基纤维素、甲基纤维素、或其碱金属盐。所述碱金属可为Na、K或Li。基于100重量份的所述负极活性物质,可以约0.1-约3重量份的量包括所述基于纤维素的化合物。
所述导电材料改善负极的电导率。可使用任何导电性材料作为导电材料,除非其导致化学变化。所述导电材料的实例包括基于碳的材料例如天然石墨、人造石墨、炭黑、乙炔黑、科琴黑、碳纤维等;金属粉末或金属纤维的基于金属的材料,包括铜、镍、铝、银等;导电聚合物例如聚亚苯基衍生物等;或其混合物。
正极114包括集流体和设置在所述集流体上的正极活性物质层。
所述集流体可为Al,但是不限于此。
所述正极活性物质层包括正极活性物质、粘合剂和导电材料。

所述正极活性物质可包括过锂化氧化物。所述过锂化氧化物包含摩尔比大于1的锂。该过锂化氧化物具有高的运行电压和高的放电容量,但是为电学上不稳定的,并且因此在氧化/还原反应期间可释放氧气。

例如,由以上化学式2表示的化合物或者包括由以上化学式2表示的化合物作为一种组分的化合物可为选自如下的至少一种化合物:xLiMO2·(1-x)Li2M'O3(0≤x<1,M为选自Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Al、Mg、Zr、Mo和B且具有+3的平均氧化数的元素,M'为选自Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Al、Mg、Zr、Mo和B且具有+4的平均氧化数的元素)和Li2MO2(M为选自Ni、Co、Fe、Cu、Ti和V的至少一种金属),但是不限于此且可包括任何在充电和放电期间释放氧气的锂金属氧化物。
所释放的氧气可通过与由以上化学式1表示的添加剂的反应而被除去。

参照图2,所述添加剂与氧气结合并且在电极表面上形成层。因此,所述添加剂可捕获由电池产生的氧气。根据该实施方式,所述添加剂与在充电和放电期间由Li2MnO3活性产生的氧气结合,并且因此捕获和除去所述氧气,实现具有优异电化学性能的可再充电锂电池。所述粘合剂改善正极活性物质颗粒彼此的粘合性质以及正极活性物质颗粒与集流体的粘合性质。所述粘合剂的实例包括聚乙烯醇、羧甲基纤维素、羟丙基纤维素、二乙酰基纤维素、聚氯乙烯、羧化聚氯乙烯、聚氟乙烯、含亚乙基氧的聚合物、聚乙烯基吡咯烷酮、聚氨酯、聚四氟乙烯、聚偏氟乙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、丁苯橡胶、丙烯酸类改性的丁苯橡胶、环氧树脂、尼龙等,但是不限于此。
所述导电材料改善正极的电导率。可使用任何导电性材料作为导电材料,除非其导致化学变化。所述导电材料的实例包括天然石墨;人造石墨;炭黑;乙炔黑;科琴黑;碳纤维;金属粉末或金属纤维,包括铜、镍、铝、银等;导电聚合物例如聚亚苯基衍生物等;或其混合物。
所述负极和正极可以如下方法制造:通过将活性物质和粘合剂、以及任选地导电材料在溶剂中混合而制备活性物质组合物,和将所述活性物质组合物涂覆在集流体上。所述溶剂包括N-甲基吡咯烷酮、水等,但是不限于此。电极制造方法是公知的并且因此在本说明书中不详细描述。
隔板113将正极114和负极112隔开并且提供用于传输锂离子的通道。隔板113可为锂离子电池中常用的任何隔板。所述隔板可具有低的对电解质离子的阻力和优异的电解质润湿能力。例如,所述隔板可选自玻璃纤维、聚酯、TEFLON(聚四氟乙烯)、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)、或其组合并且可具有无纺物类型或织物类型。例如,基于聚烯烃的聚合物隔板例如聚乙烯、聚丙烯等用于锂离子电池,涂覆有陶瓷组分或聚合物材料的隔板可用于确保耐热性或机械强度。所述隔板可具有单层或多层。
根据隔板的存在以及其中使用的电解质的种类,可再充电锂电池可分为锂离子电池、锂离子聚合物电池、和锂聚合物电池。可再充电锂电池可具有多种形状和尺寸,且因此可包括圆柱形、棱柱形、硬币、或袋型电池,和在尺寸上的薄膜型和大体积型。关于本实施方式的锂离子电池的结构和制造方法是本领域中公知的。
所述电解质与以上描述的相同。
以下实施例更详细地说明以上描述的本实施方式的方面。然而,这些实施例在任何意义上不应解释为限制本实施方式的范围。
电解质添加剂的制备
合成实施例
4-甲基-2-[(2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-八氟戊基)氧基]-1,3,2-二氧杂磷杂环己烷的合成
将29.90g(0.129mol)2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-八氟-1-戊醇和15.65g(0.155mol)三乙胺溶解在180ml己烷中以制备溶液,和通过将20.00g(0.129mol)2-氯-4-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷杂环己烷溶解在20ml己烷中制备另一溶液。在将前者溶液在-10℃下强烈搅拌3.5小时的同时,将后者溶液滴加至前者溶液中。在该过程中,发现白色的盐酸三乙铵沉淀的形成。将反应混合物进一步在室温下搅拌3小时并且容许其静置1夜。将所述盐酸三乙铵从所得混合物分离并且用己烷洗涤。然而,在大气压下除去己烷,并且将残留物在真空下蒸馏,获得32.53g由以下化学式1A表示的化合物,即4-甲基-2-[(2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-八氟戊基)氧基]-1,3,2-二氧杂磷杂环己烷。产率为72%。

电解质溶液的制备
制备实施例1
通过如下制备用于可再充电锂电池的电解质溶液:向通过将碳酸亚乙酯(EC)、碳酸甲乙酯(EMC)和碳酸二甲酯(DMC)以3/4/3(v/v/v)的比率混合而制备的混合溶剂中加入1.3M作为锂盐的LiPF6;和向其中加入10重量%的根据合成实施例的添加剂,基于100重量%的电解质溶液。
制备实施例2
根据与制备实施例1相同的方法制备电解质溶液,除了加入5重量%的根据合成实施例的添加剂之外。
制备对比例1
根据与实施例1相同的方法制备用于可再充电锂电池的电解质溶液,除了不使用添加剂之外。
可再充电锂电池单元的制备实施例
实施例1
将作为正极活性物质的Li1.20Ni0.18Mn0.53Co0.09O2、作为粘合剂的聚偏氟乙烯和作为导电剂的超导电乙炔炭黑以90:4:6的重量比混合,并且将该混合物分散在N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮中以制备正极活性物质浆料。将该正极活性物质浆料涂覆在铝箔上、然后干燥和压缩,制造正极。
使用金属锂作为对电极。
使用所述正极、所述对电极、和根据制备实施例1的电解质溶液以制造硬币型半电池单元。
实施例2
通过如下制备正极浆料:以90:4:6的重量比使用作为正极活性物质的Li1.20Ni0.18Mn0.53Co0.09O2、作为粘合剂的聚偏氟乙烯和作为导电剂的超导电乙炔炭黑,并且将混合物分散在N-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮中。将该浆料涂覆在铝箔上、干燥、压缩,制造正极。
通过如下制造负极活性物质浆料:将作为负极活性物质的石墨、作为粘合剂的丁苯橡胶(SBR)、和作为增稠剂的羧甲基纤维素以97.5:1.5:1的重量比混合并且将混合物分散在水中。将该浆料涂覆在铜箔上、然后干燥和压缩,制造负极。
使用所述正极、所述负极、和根据制备实施例2的电解质溶液制造电池单元。
对比例1
根据与实施例1相同的方法制造硬币型半电池单元,除了使用根据制备对比例1的电解质溶液替代根据制备实施例1的电解质溶液之外。
对比例2
根据与实施例2相同的方法制造全电池单元,除了使用根据制备对比例1的电解质溶液替代根据制备实施例2的电解质溶液之外。
评价1:'Li/OLO'半电池单元的电化学稳定性
检查根据实施例1和对比例1的半电池单元的取决于相对于Li/Li+的电压/V的变化的dQ/dV变化。
结果提供于图3中。
图3为显示根据实施例1和对比例1的半电池单元的电化学稳定性的图。
参照图3,与根据对比例1的使用不含添加剂的电解质溶液的半电池单元相比,根据实施例1的半电池单元具有更宽的呈现Li2MnO3活性的峰并且更少地向正(+)电势移动。原因是所述添加剂在Li2MnO3活性和氧气产生之前或者几乎同时地电化学分解并且由此,在正极上形成层。因此,根据实施例1的半电池单元具有比不含添加剂的半电池单元好的电化学稳定性。
评价2:'Li/OLO'半电池单元的循环性能
将根据实施例1和对比例1的半电池单元在25℃下以1C充电和放电50次(运行电压:2.0V-4.7V)并且测量取决于各循环的放电容量。
图4为显示取决于循环的根据实施例1和对比例1的半电池单元的放电容量的图。
参照图4,与根据对比例1的可再充电锂电池单元相比,根据实施例1的半电池单元具有改善的放电容量保持力。
评价3:'石墨/OLO'全电池单元的库仑效率
图5为显示取决于循环的根据实施例2和对比例2的可再充电锂电池单元的库仑效率的图。
参照图5,根据实施例2的'石墨/OLO'全电池单元具有与根据对比例2的使用不含添加剂的电解质溶液的全电池单元相比改善的放电容量保持力。
参照图5,根据实施例2的全电池单元具有比根据对比例2的全电池单元高的在首次化成循环下的不可逆容量(在0.05C下的初始库仑效率(ICE):实施例2:81.6%,对比例2:87.5%)。然而,根据实施例2的电池单元在1C下在另外的充电和放电循环下具有接近100%的库仑效率。原因是,在正极上形成固体电解质界面(SEI)。与根据实施例2的电池单元相比,根据对比例2的电池单元具有较小的可逆但不稳定的循环特性。
评价4:'石墨/OLO'全电池单元的循环性能
将根据实施例2和对比例2的可再充电锂电池单元在25℃下以1C充电和放电300次(运行电压:2.0V-4.6V)并且测量取决于各循环的放电容量。
下表1显示根据实施例2和对比例2的'石墨/OLO'全电池单元的比放电容量。

考虑到过锂化氧化物正极物质的比容量的理论值230mAh/g,根据实施例2的全电池单元可比根据对比例2的全电池单元更可能地再现该结果。此处,比容量差异是通过电解质溶液中包含的添加剂产生的。因此,实施例2中使用的添加剂(制备实施例2)与对比例2中没有添加剂相比具有优异的效果。
图6为显示取决于各循环的根据实施例2和对比例2的可再充电锂电池单元的放电容量的图。
参照图6,根据实施例2的可再充电锂电池单元具有与根据对比例2的使用不含添加剂的电解质溶液的‘石墨/OLO’全电池单元相比改善的放电容量保持力。
评价5:使用差示扫描量热法(DSC)测量放热
根据与实施例2相同的方法制造各可再充电锂电池单元,除了分别使用根据制备实施例1和2以及制备对比例1的电解质溶液之外。所述可再充电锂电池单元在4.6V下充满电,并且在干燥室中拆开,获得电极。将所述电极洗涤和干燥。然后,将所述电极置于不锈钢盘中并且密封,然后使用差示扫描量热法(TA instruments auto Q20)测量放热。通过在50℃-400℃的范围内每分钟升高10℃而测量热值。
结果提供在下表2中。

参照表2,分别包含根据制备实施例1和2的电解质的电池单元具有与所述不含添加剂的电池单元相比降低约30%的放热。
根据与表2中使用的相同方法测量电池单元的放热,除了将与在各电池单元中使用的相同电解质溶液倒在干燥的电极上之外。

参照表3,使用根据制备实施例1和2的包含添加剂的电解质溶液的电池单元具有降低的放热,尽管进一步将电解质溶液倒在干燥的电极上。使用根据制备实施例1和2的电解质的电池单元具有与使用不含添加剂的电解质的电池单元相比降低约55%的放热。
参照表2和3,分别使用根据制备实施例1和2的包含添加剂的电解质溶液的可再充电锂电池单元具有降低的放热。原因是,所述添加剂与氧气结合并且在正极上形成层,和降低来自正极的放热。
