Abstract

柔性印刷电路连接器
技术领域
本发明涉及一种电连接器,且特别涉及一种用于连接到柔性印刷电路(FPC)板上的电连接器。
背景技术
FPC(柔性印刷电路)连接器广泛用于电子器件和电子系统,用于在柔性印刷电路板和主电路板之间建立电连接。除提供电连接外,该连接器也将柔性印刷电路机械地附连在一起,以防止断开连接。传统的柔性印刷电路连接器使用金属片来将柔性印刷电路保持在连接器上。在将柔性印刷电路安装到连接器的过程中,柔性印刷电路可能被金属片划损,且因此柔性印刷电路上的电路可能被损坏。
因此,希望的是提供一种柔性印刷电路连接器,所述柔性印刷电路连接器能够可靠地保持柔性印刷电路,而不会划损或损坏柔性印刷电路板上的电路。
发明内容
本文揭示的是一种用于连接柔性印刷电路(FPC)板的电连接器。在一个实施例中,电连接器具有壳体和布置在壳体中的触头端子。致动器可枢转地附连到壳体上。壳体具有成对的夹持元件,其中所述成对的夹持元件限定了保持部分。柔性印刷电路板被插入保持部分内,且被致动器固定在壳体上,以建立与触头端子的电连接。每个夹持元件被金属托架支撑,所述金属托架附连到壳体,以增加保持强度。金属托架具有主体部分、固定部分和支撑部分,所述固定部分和支撑部分从主体部分垂直地延伸。形成在柔性印刷电路板的侧边处的成对凸耳与夹持元件相接合,以使得柔性印刷电路板从壳体退出的移动被阻止。夹持元件被布置在柔性印刷电路板和托架之间,以防止柔性印刷电路板和托架的直接接触。由金属托架划损或损坏柔性印刷电路的可能性得到避免。

具体实施方式
如图1所示,根据本发明的一个实施例的FPC(柔性印刷电路)电连接器100具有壳体110和布置在壳体110中的触头端子120。致动器130可枢转地附连到壳体110,以将柔性印刷电路固定在连接器100上。壳体110具有贴装表面112,触头端子120在所述贴装表面112处局部露出。在贴装表面112的两侧处设有成对的夹持元件或止动件114。在与每个夹持元件114邻近的位置处形成有凹部116。成对的金属托架140附连到壳体110。每个托架140附连到夹持元件114、且支撑着夹持元件114。
如图2、图3和图4所示,柔性印刷电路板10具有形成在侧边缘处的成对凸耳16。为了连接到连接器100上,柔性印刷电路板10被放置在贴装表面112上,其中所述成对的凸耳16被接纳到所述成对的凹部116中。由于凸耳16和夹持元件114之间的接合,柔性印刷电路板10被保持在壳体110上,使得柔性印刷电路板10的退出移动(例如图3中所描述的沿方向20的移动)被阻止。然后,致动器130可以被关闭,用于将柔性印刷电路板10压靠在贴装表面112上,以完成将柔性印刷电路板10装配到连接器100上,如图4所示。
如图5和图6所示,每个托架140具有主体142、在一个端部处的保持突出部144、以及在另一个端部处的固定突出部148。保持突出部144和固定突出部148垂直于主体142。保持突出部144的邻近处形成有槽口146。
如图6中所示,在壳体110的每一侧形成有凹槽118,其中托架140被插入所述凹槽118中且固定到壳体110上,以增加夹持元件114的强度和刚度。保持突出部144被放置成邻近于夹持元件114且以如下的方式支撑着夹持元件114,即从凹部116到保持突出部144没有直接通道。换句话说,夹持元件114的一部分被定位于保持突出部144和凹部116之间。此外,保持突出部144稍短于夹持元件114,以使得当柔性印刷电路板10在夹持元件114的顶面上滑动时(例如在将柔性印刷电路10安装到壳体110的过程中),柔性印刷电路板10将不会接触到保持突出部144,即使柔性印刷电路板10接触到夹持元件114的顶面。因此,避免了由托架从夹持元件114的顶面或从凹部116划损柔性印刷电路板的可能性,且防止了对柔性印刷电路电路的可能损坏。
因为固定突出部148垂直于主体142,所以由柔性印刷电路板10沿图3所示方向20引起的拉力将会通过凸耳16和凹部116的接合而由托架140很好地吸收掉。托架140将不会由该拉力而与壳体110分离。
夹持元件114(或托架140)也可以在保持突出部144和固定突出部148之间包括接合突出部147。当夹持元件114(或托架140)附连到壳体110时,接合突出部147突伸出壳体110以便接触致动器130。在将柔性印刷电路板10安装到连接器100、或将柔性印刷电路板10从连接器100移除的过程中,致动器130进行枢转以及由接合突出部147支撑,如图3和图5所示。正因如此,相较于传统的连接器(其致动器仅由可能容易磨损的壳体部件支撑),接合突出部147为致动器130提供了更坚固的和可靠的支撑。
图7和图8示出了本发明的另一个实施例。相比较于在先实施例的变化是,托架240的保持突出部244被插入到形成在夹持元件214上的孔中,因此当托架240附连到壳体210时,保持突出部244被夹持元件214所围绕。因此,如同在在先实施例中的情况中,没有通向托架240的前方通道。在安装过程中,柔性印刷电路板将不会从连接器的前侧接触到托架,且因此本实施例提供了进一步的保护措施。
图9和图10示出了本发明的另一个实施例。在这个实施例中,托架340的保持突出部344具有成角度的结构或角型结构部。带有角型结构部的托架具有相对高的刚度,且允许保持突出部344围绕着夹持元件314的转角部;因此夹持元件314的强度和刚度被进一步增加。这个结构在连接器的物理尺寸偏小时(此时夹持元件薄且不牢固)是有用的。

Claims (8)

1.一种电连接器,包括:
壳体,其具有成对的夹持元件,在所述成对的夹持元件之间限定了贴装表面,用于接纳柔性印刷电路板;
被布置在壳体中的多个触头端子;
附连到壳体的成对的托架,每个托架支撑着相应的夹持元件;
其中当柔性印刷电路板被接纳于贴装表面时,夹持元件与设在柔性印刷电路板上的成对凸耳相接合,以防止柔性印刷电路板从连接器上分离,且
其中夹持元件的一部分被定位在柔性印刷电路板和托架之间,以防止柔性印刷电路板和托架的直接接触。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:每个托架包括主体、形成在主体的一个端部上的保持突出部、形成在主体的另一个端部上的固定突出部、以及在保持突出部和固定突出部之间的槽口,其中所述固定突出部被插入壳体的凹槽内,且所述保持突出部附连到夹持元件。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:保持突出部附连到夹持元件的外侧部。
4.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:夹持元件具有孔,其中保持突出部被插入所述孔中,以使得保持突出部被夹持元件围绕。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:保持突出部被定位成低于夹持元件的顶面。
6.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:固定突出部具有角型结构部,所述角型结构部围绕着夹持元件的转角部。
7.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述电连接器还包括成对的凹部,每个所述凹部位于壳体和相应的夹持元件之间,其中夹持元件的槽口被定位成围绕着凹部。
8.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述电连接器还包括可枢转地安装到壳体上的致动器,其中夹持元件还在固定突出部和保持突出部之间包括接合突出部,其中接合突出部突伸出壳体以接合着致动器。
