Description

Multimedia message service processing method and related equipment and system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communication technologies, and in particular, to a multimedia message service processing method, and related device and system.
Background
Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a currently successful mobile wireless data Service, and the most distinctive feature of the MMS is that the MMS supports Multimedia functions, and can transmit information in various Multimedia formats including characters, images, sounds, animations and the like between a source terminal and a destination terminal, for example, a mobile phone newspaper sent from a Service Server of a Service Provider (SP) to a user terminal is a currently common Multimedia Messaging Service.
A Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) is the core of a Multimedia Messaging Service system for processing Multimedia Messaging services, and is responsible for sending Multimedia messages composed of plain text, pictures and other media formats over a network, and the main equipment in the MMS Service Center is an MMS server capable of processing Multimedia messages, including input, output, address resolution, notification, reporting, etc. of the messages. The multimedia messaging system service system here refers to the set of all network elements that are relevant to the multimedia messaging service.
For the implementation of the multimedia message service, the specific flow is as follows:
1. the source terminal sends a forwarding request message to an MMS server of a multimedia message service center, the forwarding request message carries the multimedia message to be forwarded by the source terminal, and the forwarding request message is sent to the MMS server in a data packet mode.
2. After receiving the forwarding request message, the MMS server stores and forwards the forwarding request message, namely, a data packet of the forwarding request message is cached in the MMS server, whether the data packet is correct or not is checked, a conflict data packet error is filtered, a response message is returned to the source terminal after the data packet is determined to be correct, the response message only identifies that the multimedia message successfully submits to a multimedia message service center, a destination terminal address is taken out from the data packet, a corresponding port address is found through a lookup table, and then the data packet is sent out;
3. if the forwarding fails under the abnormal condition, the MMS server forwards the multimedia message again according to the cached multimedia message until the multimedia message is successfully sent or the multimedia message is transferred to a network space;
4. the MMS server feeds back the transmission status of the multimedia message (e.g., transmission success or unloading of the multimedia message to the network space) to the source terminal.
In the above-described process of implementing the multimedia message service, the store-and-forward operation mode of the MMS server is defined as an asynchronous transmission mode.
In the process of research and practice of the prior art, the inventor of the present invention finds that, no matter whether a source terminal needs, an MMS server processes all submitted multimedia messages in an asynchronous sending mode, that is, the MMS server stores all submitted multimedia messages first and then forwards the multimedia messages to a destination terminal, and after the MMS server fails to forward the multimedia messages, the MMS server forwards the multimedia messages again according to the stored information until the multimedia messages are successfully sent or the multimedia messages are transferred to a network space, so that for a multimedia message service such as a mobile phone message, which is centralized and has large flow, the multimedia message service can greatly consume hardware and software resources such as storage and scheduling of the MMS server. Secondly, because the MMS server continuously retransmits the multimedia message which is unsuccessfully forwarded until the multimedia message is successfully transmitted or the network space is transferred, and then the transmission state of the multimedia message is fed back to the source terminal, under certain conditions, such as the network is not accessible, or the destination terminal is not in a working state, or the time taken by the destination terminal to acquire the multimedia message is overtime, the MMS server can not feed back the transmission state of the multimedia message to the source terminal after delaying for a long time, that is, the MMS server cannot guarantee that the transmission state of the multimedia message is fed back to the source terminal in real time.

Detailed Description
The embodiment of the invention provides a multimedia message service processing method, and also provides corresponding equipment and a corresponding system. The following are detailed below.
Referring to fig. 1, a first embodiment of a multimedia message service processing method according to an embodiment of the present invention includes:
101. receiving a forwarding request message sent by a source terminal;
in this embodiment, when a source terminal needs to send a multimedia message to a destination terminal, the source terminal sends a forwarding request message to an MMS server, where the forwarding request message carries the multimedia message and an address of the destination terminal, and the multimedia message is usually stored in the forwarding request message in the form of a character field.
Herein, for the sake of simplicity, a terminal that transmits a multimedia message is referred to as a source terminal, and similarly, a terminal that receives a multimedia message is referred to as a destination terminal, which is not intended to represent a limitation on the structure or function of the terminal.
102. Synchronously forwarding the multimedia message to a destination terminal;
and the MMS server receives the forwarding request message sent by the source terminal, finds a corresponding interface address according to the address of the target terminal carried in the forwarding request message, and synchronously forwards the multimedia message carried in the forwarding request message to the target terminal. In this embodiment, the source terminal and the destination terminal may be any two combinations of a mobile phone terminal, an MMS server of another multimedia message service center, and a server of a service operator for processing MMS services, and the MMS server and different source terminals and different destination terminals have different interfaces. For example:
MM1 interface: an interface between the mobile phone terminal and the MMS server;
MM4 interface: an interface between the MMS server and an MMS server of another multimedia messaging service center;
MM7 interface: an interface between a service operator's server for handling MMS traffic and an MMS server.
MM1, MM4, MM7 are named as customary in the communications industry.
It should be noted that, the MMS server forwards the multimedia message to the destination terminal, which is not a unidirectional operation generally, but can be forwarded only through a series of interactive operations between the MMS server and the destination terminal, for example, the MMS server sends a notification message to the destination terminal, which notifies the destination terminal that there is a multimedia message to be forwarded, receives a response message of the destination terminal to the notification message, then receives a request acquisition message of the destination terminal, and forwards the multimedia message to the destination terminal after knowing that the destination terminal requires to acquire the multimedia message.
103. And feeding back a forwarding result message.
After the MMS server forwards the multimedia message to the destination terminal synchronously, no matter what sending state the multimedia message is, the sending state information can be that the sending is successful, the sending is failed, the destination terminal refuses to receive, the sending is failed overtime, and the like, the MMS server feeds back a forwarding result message to the source terminal in real time, and the forwarding result message carries the state information after the multimedia message is forwarded. In this embodiment, the MMS server does not retransmit the multimedia message after the transmission failure, and therefore the MMS server does not need to store the multimedia message for retransmission.
Herein, an operation mode of the MMS server for processing multimedia messages is defined as a synchronous transmission mode.
In this embodiment, after receiving a forwarding request message sent by a source terminal, an MMS server synchronously forwards a multimedia message in the forwarding request message to a destination terminal, without storing the forwarding request message, and then in the forwarding process, if the MMS server encounters an abnormal condition, the MMS server cannot successfully forward the multimedia message to the destination terminal, and does not retransmit the multimedia message again, but feeds back the sending state to the source terminal in real time, that is, in the forwarding process of the multimedia message, the MMS server does not need to perform retransmission scheduling, and the MMS server does not need to store the multimedia message for retransmission scheduling, so that in this embodiment, hardware and software resources such as storage and scheduling of the MMS server can be saved, and this embodiment can ensure that the sending state of the multimedia message is fed back to the source terminal in real time.
In a specific application, the multimedia message service system may include the following network elements: source terminal, MMS server, MMS user database, external application server, and destination terminal. In addition, the system can be interconnected with a charging system and a network management system in the current network. The multimedia message service processing method in the embodiment of the present invention will be described in a specific example from the above-mentioned specific application point of view.
Referring to fig. 2, an embodiment of a multimedia message service processing method according to the embodiment of the present invention includes:
201. receiving a forwarding request message sent by a source terminal;
in this embodiment, the source terminal is a server of a service operator for processing MMS service, and the destination terminal is a mobile phone terminal. For the sake of simplicity, the server of the service provider for handling MMS services is simply referred to as service provider a in this embodiment.
For some multimedia message services, the service operator a needs to be able to know the sending status of the multimedia message in real time, but there are some multimedia message services, and the service operator a does not need to know the sending status of the multimedia message in real time, that is, the service operator a needs different sending modes for different multimedia message services.
In this embodiment, in addition to the multimedia message field, the forwarding request message sent by the service provider a to the MMS server further includes a field for identifying a transmission mode required by the service provider a, which is described in table 1, and when the character of the field is 0 or default, the transmission mode required by the service provider a is an asynchronous transmission mode, and when the character of the field is 1, the transmission mode required by the service provider a is a synchronous transmission mode. The MMS server may determine its own operation mode according to the received forwarding request message sent by the source terminal.
TABLE 1
Figure BSA00000281606700061
Figure BSA00000281606700071
Of course, the service provider a may not use the forwarding request message to carry the field identifying the sending mode required by the service provider a, but may separately send a sending mode message to the MMS server, where the sending mode message may carry the field identifying the sending mode required by the service provider a as described in table 1, and the MMS server may determine whether the sending mode required by the service provider a is the synchronous sending mode or the asynchronous sending mode according to the sending mode message.
It should be noted that, in this embodiment, if the source terminal is not the service operator a but a mobile phone terminal, the forwarding request message sent by the mobile phone terminal to the MMS server may also include a field for identifying a sending mode required by the mobile phone terminal, and the description of the field is described in table 1.
202. Synchronously forwarding the multimedia message to a destination terminal;
the content of step 201 in this embodiment is the same as the content of step 101 in the first embodiment shown in fig. 1, and is not described herein again.
203. Feeding back a forwarding result message;
after synchronously forwarding the multimedia message to the mobile phone terminal, the MMS server feeds back a forwarding result message to the service operator A, wherein the forwarding result message carries the state information after the multimedia message is forwarded.
The specific process is exemplified as follows:
1. the MMS server receives a reading receipt message fed back by the mobile phone terminal, the reading receipt message marks that the mobile phone terminal receives the multimedia message, and the MMS server feeds back a forwarding result message to the service operator A according to the information of the reading receipt message, wherein the forwarding result message carries information of successful sending of the mark;
2. the MMS server detects that the mobile phone terminal does not support the multimedia information, updates the data format information which can be received by the mobile phone terminal in the MMS user database, and sends a forwarding result message to the service operator A, wherein the forwarding result message is used for identifying the forwarding failure of the multimedia message;
3. and when the reading receipt message fed back by the mobile phone terminal is overtime, the MMS server sends a forwarding result message to the service operator A, wherein the forwarding result message is used for identifying the forwarding failure of the multimedia message. The MMS server may use a timer to preset the time for the mobile phone terminal to feed back the read receipt message, and when the forwarding request message received by the MMS server indicates that the service operator a needs the synchronous sending mode, the time preset in the timer needs to be short, which may be generally set to 5 minutes.
The forwarding result message sent by the MMS server to the service operator may also carry specific reasons of the transmission failure, such as that the mobile phone terminal is not powered on or the network is not accessible, in addition to identifying whether the multimedia message is successfully transmitted. These specific reasons carried may be implemented by extending a character field in the forwarding result message.
204. Charging information is generated.
After receiving the reading receipt message fed back by the mobile phone terminal, the MMS server generates charging information and transmits the charging information to the charging system.
In the second embodiment, when the source terminal needs to know the sending state of the multimedia message in real time, the MMS server processes the multimedia message in a synchronous sending mode, and when the source terminal does not need to know the sending state of the multimedia message in real time, the MMS server processes the multimedia message in an asynchronous sending mode, so that the MMS server can determine the working mode of the MMS server according to the received forwarding request message sent by the source terminal, and the MMS server is beneficial to service operators to develop different multimedia message services.
Both the first embodiment and the second embodiment describe the multimedia message service processing method from the perspective of the MMS server, and the multimedia message service processing method will be described below from the perspective of the source terminal.
Referring to fig. 3, a third embodiment of a multimedia message service processing method according to a third embodiment of the present invention includes:
301. transmitting a forwarding request message to a multimedia message service server;
when a source terminal needs to send a multimedia message to a destination terminal, the source terminal sends a forwarding request message to an MMS server, the forwarding request message carries the multimedia message to be forwarded, and then the MMS server forwards the multimedia message to the destination terminal.
Further, the forwarding request message may also carry information identifying the transmission mode required by the forwarding request message.
302. Receiving a feedback forwarding result message;
after forwarding the multimedia message to the destination terminal, the MMS server feeds back a forwarding result message of the multimedia message to the destination terminal, wherein the forwarding result message carries the state information of the multimedia message after being forwarded.
Unlike the prior art, the MMS server does not feed back a response message for identifying that the forwarding request message has been received to the source terminal after receiving the forwarding request message sent by the source terminal. In the whole process of implementing the multimedia message service, the source terminal only receives the forwarding result message fed back by the MMS server.
303. And re-transmitting the failed multimedia message.
And the source terminal receives the forwarding result message of the multimedia message fed back by the MMS server, and the source terminal re-transmits the multimedia message which fails to be transmitted according to the forwarding result message.
It should be noted that the operation performed by the source terminal according to the forwarding result message can be freely customized according to its own needs, for example, the state of the source terminal can be updated.
In the embodiment, the source terminal only needs to receive the forwarding result message fed back by the MMS server, so that resources are saved, the source terminal can freely customize subsequent operation according to self needs after receiving the forwarding result message, and the source terminal can control the working mode of the MMS server by carrying the information identifying the sending mode needed in the forwarding request message sent to the MMS server according to the requirements of the multimedia message service, so that the source terminal can develop the multimedia message service.
