本发明的特别优选的多层材料片具有如下特征:该叠层包含至少两个创伤减轻层子叠层,所述至少两个创伤减轻层子叠层被至少一个纤维层分隔。这样的优选实施方式表现出进一步提高的防弹性能。纤维层的叠层中具有至少两个创伤减轻层子叠层会使射弹在穿过该叠层时连续减速,因而减小BFD。本发明的材料片的甚至更优选实施方式具有如下特征:该叠层包含至少三个子叠层,更优选包含至少四个子叠层,所述子叠层被至少一个纤维层分隔。更优选地,每组两个相邻的子叠层之间存在至少一个纤维层。甚至更优选地,介于2个相邻子叠层间的纤维层的数量或距离不是常数。这意味着,介于第一子叠层和第二子叠层之间的纤维层的数量不同于介于例如所述第二子叠层和第三子叠层之间的纤维层的数量。甚至更优选地,所述多层材料片包含至少一个面对纤维层的创伤减轻层子叠层,该纤维层的数量与面对另一创伤减轻层子叠层的纤维层数相差至少10%。最优选地,所述纤维层数相差至少20%。创伤减轻层间的这样的非均匀间隔进一步改善(即减轻)了背面变形。
原则上,各子叠层中的创伤减轻层的数量可以在宽范围内变化。对于大多数柔性防弹应用来说,纤维层的总数通常在约20至约60的范围内。优选的创伤减轻层的总数在1至20的范围内,更优选在2至10的范围内,最优选在3至6的范围内。在本发明的优选材料片中,每个子叠层包含至多4个创伤减轻层,更优选包含至多2个创伤减轻层,最优选仅包含1个创伤减轻层。特别优选的实施方式具有至少4个子叠层,其中所述子叠层中的大多数或全部仅包含1个创伤减轻层。创伤减轻层分布在叠层的整个厚度方向上的实施方式具有最小的BFD,特别在不同的相邻子叠层间的纤维层的数量不是常数的情况下。
在已知的多层材料片中,创伤减轻层位于纤维层叠层的背面上。优选的位置是在背面处,即叠层的非冲击侧。在根据本发明的多层材料片中,叠层中的创伤减轻层优选朝向该叠层的前侧(受创面)布置,这与通常的认知相反。在本发明的特别优选的材料片中,创伤减轻层的总面重量中的至少50%的位于叠层中面向冲击侧或受创面的那半部分中。甚至更优选地,创伤减轻层的总面重量中的至少75%位于叠层中面向受创面的那半部分中。
根据本发明,多层材料片包含纤维层和创伤减轻层。这些层可以以使得整个叠层可弯曲的方式互相连接。适当的连接技术包括缝合,优选仅沿着叠层的边缘(ridge)缝合。此外,可以以跨层表面的方式应用缝合。上述表面缝合可以应用到一部分的层上。优选地,纤维层中的一些进行部分或完全表面缝合。通常,2至100%、优选5至80%、更优选7至50%、最优选10至35%的纤维层进行表面缝合。上述表面缝合进一步减小了背面变形。
纤维层优选包括纤维网络,而创伤减轻层优选包括纤维网络,但也可以包括如下所述的其它材料形式。
网络指以各种类型的结构排列的条带或纤维。例如,多根纤维可以组成一组从而形成加捻的或未加捻的纱线,例如纤维或纱线可以被形成为毡、被针织或纺织(平纹编织、席纹编织、缎纹编织、鸦爪编织等)成网络,可被制成无纺织物(无规取向或有序取向),以平行阵列形式排列、分层或者通过各种常规技术形成织物。
在优选的实施方式中,叠层中的纤维层包含这样的网络,该网络选自:增强纤维的纺织网络、增强纤维的针织网络、增强纤维的编织网络和取向增强纤维的无纺网络。更优选地,纤维层包含交叠UD。该术语稍后进行解释。
本发明材料片的进一步优选的实施方式具有如下特征:取向增强纤维的无纺网络包含多个单向单层,其中相邻单层彼此相互交叠,也被称为“交叠UD”。在本发明的上下文中,术语“单向单层”指由单向取向的增强纤维和可选的粘合剂(使增强纤维基本上保持在一起)形成的纤维网络层。术语“单向取向的增强纤维”指在一个平面内基本上平行取向的增强纤维。“增强纤维”在本文中指其长度尺寸大于宽度和厚度的横向尺寸的细长体。术语“增强纤维”包括单丝、多丝纱线、条带、细带、细线、定长纤维纱线和其它具有规则或不规则截面的细长体。在本发明的材料片的进一步优选实施方式中,一个单层中的增强纤维相对于另一单层中的增强纤维以一定角度取向。在优选的材料片中,网络包括交织的或纺织的单向条带。
用在本发明优选实施方式中的单层可以包含粘合剂。为了以使得整个叠层或多层材料片保持可弯曲的方式连接各纤维层,重要的是:各纤维层相互之间基本上不会被网络间的粘合剂相互固结。
术语粘合剂指一种如下的材料,该材料在含有单向取向的增强纤维和粘合剂的片材中将增强纤维粘合或保持在一起,该粘合剂可以全部或部分包裹增强纤维,以使单层结构在处理和制备预成型片期间得以保持。粘合剂可以以各种形式和方式使用,例如,作为薄膜(通过其熔融至少部分覆盖防弹纤维),作为横向粘合带和作为横向纤维(相对于单向纤维横向)或通过将纤维用基质材料(例如,采用熔融聚合物或聚合材料在液体中的溶液或分散液)浸渍和/或包埋。优选地,基质材料均匀地分布在单层的整个表面上,然而,也可以局部使用粘合带或粘合纤维。在优选的实施方式中,粘合剂是聚合物基质材料,它可以是热固性材料或热塑性材料或二者的混合物。基质材料的断裂伸长率优选大于纤维的伸长率。粘合剂优选具有2-600%的伸长率,更优选具有4-500%的伸长率。在基质材料是热固性聚合物的情况下,优选选择乙烯基酯、不饱和聚酯、环氧树脂或苯酚树脂作为基质材料。在基质材料是热塑性聚合物的情况下,优选选择聚氨酯、聚乙烯基聚合物、聚丙烯酸类、聚烯烃或热塑性弹性嵌段共聚物(例如,聚异戊二烯-聚乙烯-丁烯-聚苯乙烯或聚苯乙烯-聚异戊二烯-聚苯乙烯嵌段共聚物)作为基质材料。优选地,粘合剂基本上由热塑性聚合物组成,该粘合剂优选完全涂敷到单层中所述增强纤维的每根丝上,并且该粘合剂具有至少250MPa、更优选至少400MPa的拉伸模量(在25℃下,根据ASTM D638测定)。这种粘合剂使含有单层的片材柔性很高,并且使固结的叠层硬度足够高。
优选地,粘合剂在单层中的含量为至多30质量%,更优选为至多25、20,甚至更优选为至多15质量%。这得到最佳的防弹性能。
在根据本发明的多层材料片中,创伤减轻层优选包含这样的网络,该网络选自:无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络、增强纤维的网眼针织网络和/或聚合物膜和/或聚合物泡沫。更优选地,在根据本发明的多层材料片中,创伤减轻层包含无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络、聚合物膜或聚合物泡沫。在本发明材料片的第一个优选实施方式中,创伤减轻层包含无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络,更优选包含无规取向的非连续增强纤维的无纺网络,甚至更优选包含毛毡,最优选包含针刺毛毡。
无规取向的非连续增强纤维的无纺网络优选具有在约0.50至50cm范围内的纤维长度,更优选具有在约2.50至25cm范围内的纤维长度,最优选具有在约5至15cm范围内的纤维长度。随着纤维长度的增加,防弹性能通常也提高。无规取向的非连续增强纤维的无纺网络本身是已知的,并且可以通过例如梳理或通过气流成网或液流成网而制成。固结或结合增强纤维网络的操作可以以机械方式实施,例如通过针刺;以化学方式实施,例如采用粘合剂;和/或热方式通过形成点结合或与熔点较低的增强纤维混合来实施。优选的无规取向的非连续增强纤维的无纺网络单独通过针刺固结或者通过针刺以及随后其它方法之一固结。
根据本发明的进一步优选的材料片具有如下特征:创伤减轻层包括聚合物膜和/或聚合物泡沫。适当的(热塑性)聚合物包括聚酰胺、聚酰亚胺、聚醚砜、聚醚醚酮、聚氨酯、聚烯烃(诸如聚乙烯和聚丙烯)、聚苯硫醚、聚酰胺-酰亚胺、丙烯腈丁二烯苯乙烯(ABS)、苯乙烯/马来酸酐(SMA)、聚碳酸酯、聚苯醚共混物、热塑性聚酯(诸如聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯)以及上述聚合物的一种或多种的混合物和共聚物。特别优选聚合物泡沫,尤其优选聚乙烯泡沫。聚碳酸酯是特别优选的聚合物膜。还可以使用热固性聚合物。适当的实例包括环氧树脂、不饱和聚酯树脂、三聚氰胺/甲醛树脂、苯酚/甲醛树脂、聚氨酯树脂等等。
聚合物膜和/或泡沫形式的创伤减轻层的适当面密度可以在宽范围内进行选择。优选的面密度在10至500g/m2的范围内,更优选在50至400g/m2的范围内,最优选在100至350g/m2的范围内。以无规取向纤维的无纺网络形式的创伤减轻层的优选面密度在20至500g/m2的范围内,更优选在80至400g/m2的范围内,甚至更优选在100至300g/m2的范围内,最优选在150至250g/m2的范围内。纤维层的优选面密度在50至500g/m2的范围内,更优选在80至250g/m2的范围内,最优选在100至200g/m2的范围内。
原则上,任何天然纤维或合成纤维都可用作纤维层和/或创伤减轻层中的增强纤维。可以使用例如金属纤维、半金属纤维、无机纤维、有机纤维或其混合物。这些纤维应当具有防弹效果,更具体地需要它们具有高拉伸强度、高拉伸模量和/或高能吸收。这种纤维在本申请的上下文中也被称为防弹纤维。本发明单层中的增强纤维优选具有至少约1.5GPa的拉伸强度,更优选具有至少约2.0GPa的拉伸强度,甚至更优选具有至少约2.5GPa的拉伸强度,最优选具有至少约4GPa的拉伸强度。本发明单层中的增强纤维优选具有至少40GPa的拉伸模量。合适的增强纤维可以是无机增强纤维或有机增强纤维。合适的无机增强纤维是例如玻璃纤维、碳纤维和陶瓷纤维。合适的具有上述高拉伸强度的有机增强纤维是例如芳族聚酰胺纤维(所谓的芳纶纤维)(特别是聚(对苯撑对苯二甲酰胺))、液晶聚合物纤维和例如聚苯并咪唑或聚苯并噁唑的梯形聚合物纤维(特别是聚(1,4-亚苯基-2,6-苯并双噁唑)(PBO)或聚(2,6-二咪唑并[4,5-b-4’,5’-e]吡啶-1,4-(2,5-二羟基)苯撑(poly(2,6-diimidazo[4,5-b-4’,5’-e]pyridinylene-1,4-(2,5-dihydroxy)phenylene))(PIPD;也称为M5))以及例如通过凝胶纺丝工艺得到的高度取向的例如聚烯烃、聚乙烯醇和聚丙烯腈的纤维。
合适的聚烯烃具体是乙烯和丙烯的均聚物和共聚物,它们还可以包含少量的一种或更多种其它聚合物,具体的是,其它烯烃-1聚合物。
如果线性聚乙烯(PE)被选作聚烯烃,则得到良好的结果。线性聚乙烯在这里被理解为意指每100个C原子具有小于1个的侧链,优选每300个C原子小于1个侧链的聚乙烯,其中侧链或支链通常包含至少10个C原子。线性聚乙烯还包含至多5mol%的一种或多种可与其共聚的其它烯烃,例如,丙烯、丁烯、戊烯、4-甲基戊烯、辛烯。优选地,线性聚乙烯具有高摩尔质量,而特性粘度(IV,在135℃下,在萘烷的溶液中测定)为至少4dl/g,更优选为至少8dl/g。这种聚乙烯也被称为超高摩尔质量聚乙烯。特性粘度是摩尔质量的量度,它比例如Mn和Mw的实际摩尔质量参数更易确定。IV和Mw之间存在一些经验关系,但这些关系高度依赖于摩尔质量分布。基于方程Mw=5.37×104[IV]1.37(见EP 0504954A1),4或8dl/g的IV分别相当于约360或930kg/mol的Mw。
优选使用由聚乙烯丝组成的高性能聚乙烯(HPPE)纤维作为(防弹)增强纤维,这些聚乙烯丝通过例如在GB 2042414A或WO 01/73173中所描述的凝胶纺丝工艺来制备。这导致单位重量的防弹性能非常好。凝胶纺丝工艺基本上由以下步骤组成:制备具有高特性粘度的线性聚乙烯的溶液,将该溶液在高于溶解温度的温度下纺成丝,将该丝冷却到凝胶温度以下以产生凝胶,并且在除去溶剂以前、期间或以后拉伸丝。
在特别优选的实施方式中,本发明的多层材料片包含至少2个单向单层作为纤维层,优选包含至少10个单向单层作为纤维层,更优选包含至少20个单向单层作为纤维层,甚至更优选包含至少40个单向单层作为纤维层,最优选包含至少80个单向单层作为纤维层。优选地,单层中的纤维方向不同于相邻单层中的纤维方向,即所谓的交叠UD。
根据本发明的多层材料片尤其可用于制造防弹制品,诸如背心或装甲板。最优选地,根据本发明的多层材料片用于制造所谓的“柔性防弹制品”,这涉及柔性制品。防弹应用包括抵挡若干种子弹(包括穿甲子弹,所谓的AP子弹)、简易爆炸装置和硬粒子(诸如碎片和散榴弹)的弹道威胁的应用。
本发明进一步涉及一种多层材料片,其包含纤维层叠层和一个或多个相邻放置的创伤减轻层子叠层,具有低重量和低BFD的优异组合,其特征在于,当采用44Magnum JHP子弹测试时,BFD(以mm计)和面密度(AD以kg/m2计)的乘积小于240mm.kg/m2,优选小于210。
现在通过以下实施例和对比例进一步阐述本发明,但本发明并不局限于此。
实施例I-VII
将总共36层的DyneemaUD SB31单层组件(可商购自DSMDyneema的具有超高分子量聚乙烯纤维的交叠UD)与4层DyneemaFR10毛毡层叠,从而形成多层材料片。层叠次序列在表1中。围绕多层片的周边对其进行缝合。DyneemaUD SB31片的面密度为135g/m2,DyneemaFR10层的面密度为200g/m2。各个实例中,整个组件的面密度介于5.5和5.7kg/m2之间。
对比例A
实施例VIII
将总共36层的DyneemaUD SB31单层组件与4层Lexan聚碳酸酯膜层叠,从而形成完成组件。围绕完成叠层的周边对其进行缝合。层叠次序列在表1中。DyneemaUD SB31片的面密度为135g/m2,Lexan聚碳酸酯膜的面密度为310g/m2。
实施例IX
将总共36层的DyneemaUD SB31单层组件与4层厚约8mm的聚乙烯泡沫层叠,从而形成多层材料片,围绕该多层材料片的周边对其进行缝合。层叠次序列在表1中。DyneemaUD SB31片的面密度为135g/m2,聚乙烯泡沫的面密度为360g/m2。
测试过程
使用利用内部射击模板的436m/秒的.44Magnum JHP和,以NIJ01011.04IIIA级水平对所有组件进行背面变形(BFD)测试。

上述结果表明:根据本发明的包装件与根据现有技术的包装件相比具有明显更低的平均BFD。
根据本发明的多层材料片和防弹制品明显优于先前已知的防弹材料,因为它们在低重量下与已知制品相比具有改善的防护水平,尤其是就背面变形而言。
Claims (14)
1.一种多层材料片,其包含纤维层叠层和一个或多个创伤减轻层子叠层,所述创伤减轻层包括无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络、聚合物泡沫或聚合物膜,其中所述子叠层中的至少一个位于所述叠层内。
2.如权利要求1所述的材料片,其中,所述叠层包含被至少一个纤维层分隔的至少四个子叠层。
3.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,每个子叠层包含至多四个创伤减轻层。
4.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,每个子叠层仅包含一个创伤减轻层。
5.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,所述创伤减轻层中按总面重量计的至少50%位于所述叠层中面向受创面的那半部分中。
6.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,所述创伤减轻层中按总面重量计的至少75%位于叠层中面向受创面的那半部分中。
7.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,所述纤维层包含这样的网络,所述网络选自:增强纤维的纺织网络、增强纤维的针织网络、增强纤维的编织网络和取向增强纤维的无纺网络。
8.如权利要求7所述的材料片,其中,所述纤维层中的所述取向增强纤维的无纺网络包括多个单向单层。
9.如权利要求8所述的材料片,其中,一个单层中的增强纤维相对于相邻单层中的增强纤维以一定角度取向。
10.如权利要求1所述的材料片,其中,所述网络包括纺织条带。
11.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,所述无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络包含非连续纤维。
12.如前述权利要求中任意一项所述的材料片,其中,所述无规取向的增强纤维的无纺网络是毛毡。
13.一种防弹背心,其包含权利要求1-12中任意一项所述的多层材料片。
14.权利要求1-12中任意一项所述的材料片在制造柔性防弹制品中的用途。
