Other preferred feature of the present invention has been proposed in the appended claims.
Description of drawings
Now with reference to accompanying drawing embodiments of the invention are described by way of example, in the accompanying drawings:
Fig. 1 schematically shows the system according to first embodiment of the invention; And
Fig. 2 schematically shows an embodiment of the motion sensor that comprises two pressure pads.
The specific embodiment
Fig. 1 schematically shows the system 10 that controls according to the motion of objects first embodiment of the present invention, that be used for 12 pairs of video-games of user.System 10 comprises direction sensor 14, motion sensor 16 and processor 18.Also show game console 20 and screen 22.
In the embodiment in figure 1, direction sensor 14, motion sensor 16 and processor 18 all are located in the discrete independent unit.Alternatively, direction sensor 14 and motion sensor 16 can be located in the same unit.Similarly, processor 18 and direction sensor 14 or motion sensor 16 or these two can be located in the same unit.Alternatively, processor 18 can be used as hardware or software and is provided in the game console 20.
Between direction sensor 14 and processor 18, there is link 24, is used to make processor 18 to receive and depends on the direction input that is sensed and the signal that changes.Similarly, between motion sensor 16 and processor 18, there is link 26, is used to make processor 18 to receive and depends on the action that is sensed and the signal that changes. In addition, between processor 18 and game console 20, there is link, is used to make the output signal that game console 20 can receiving processor 18.With dashed lines schematically shows link 24,26 and 28 in Fig. 1.In the link 24,26 and 28 each can be or can not be wireless.
The direction input that the output signal of processor 18 is provided as making the direction of motion of game object to depend on being sensed and changing, and the motion amplitude of game object depends on the action that is sensed and changes.
Table 1 shows preferred embodiment, and wherein said system is used to the motion of the game object in the typical video-game (waiting to the right forward, backward, left) is controlled. In this embodiment, use single direction sensor (for example control stick or steering wheel) to come the direction of rotation and the translation direction of the motion of game object are jointly controlled. For example, recreation may be football game or drive recreation that game object wherein is respectively footballer character or racing car.In this type of recreation, when having the translation of game object, game object towards with the motion the identical direction of rotation (that is, the sportsman is towards the direction identical with its direction of running, and perhaps racing car is towards the direction identical with its direction of travelling) of translation direction.
Table 1
With reference to table 1,, there is not the motion of game object when the direction that is sensed is input as zero and the action that sensed when being zero (null). For example, when user 12 stand still and not via the direction sensor provider to when input, it is motionless that footballer character will keep.
On the contrary, when the direction that is sensed is input as non-zero (non-zero) and the action that sensed when being non-zero, there is the translational motion of game object. The direction of described translational motion depends on the direction input that is sensed and changes. For example, when running in user 12 original places and provides along the input of the direction of specific direction, footballer character will be run and pass game environment (for example football field) along the direction relevant with this specific direction.
In addition, when the direction that is sensed is input as non-zero and the action that sensed when being zero, there be rotatablely moving of game object. This direction that rotatablely moves depends on the direction input that is sensed and changes. For example, when user 12 stands still and provide along the input of the direction of specific direction, footballer character will turn to towards the direction relevant with this specific direction.
When table 1 shows and wherein works as the direction that is sensed and be input as zero,, there is not the embodiment of the motion of game object even the action that is sensed is a non-zero yet. Therefore, the original place run but not the provider to the input user 12 will be associated with the footballer character that stands still. But in the embodiment of alternative, when the direction that is sensed is input as zero,, also can there be some motion of game object even the action that is sensed is a non-zero.For example, the original place run but not the provider may be associated with the footballer character of running in also original place to the user 12 of input.
Therefore, according to the present invention, move through game environment in order to make game object, user 12 self must carry out they self big-movement (for example run or walk in the original place).Like this, user 12 takes exercise when playing games. In addition, because the motion of game object more closely is associated with user's motion, so game experiencing is more true.
But table 2 shows the preferred embodiment of alternative, and wherein, the direction input comprises direction of rotation input and translation direction input. In this embodiment, use bilateral transducer (game mat that for example, comprises two control sticks) to control the direction of rotation and the translation direction of the motion of game object respectively. For example, recreation may be that game object is ejaculator role's a shooting game, and wherein said ejaculator's role movement can pass game environment towards the direction (direction of rotation) different with his travel direction (translation direction). This recreation normally utilizes game mat to control: a game mat control stick (usually in the left side) is used to control the translation direction that this role passes the motion of game environment, another game mat control stick is used to control the direction of rotation (for example, this role towards/direction of watching attentively/shooting) of this role's motion.
Table 2
In table 2, as in the table 1, when the direction that is sensed was input as zero, the action that no matter is sensed why, do not have the motion (translation or rotation) of game object.Similarly, be input as zero and the action that sensed when being zero, do not have the motion of game object when translation direction is input as non-zero, direction of rotation.
In table 2,, just there be rotatablely moving of game object as long as there is the direction of rotation input that is sensed. This direction that rotatablely moves depends on the direction of rotation input that is sensed and changes.Depend on direction of rotation input that is sensed and the action that is sensed, game object described rotatablely move can with or can not combine with the translational motion of game object.
In table 2,, there is the translational motion of game object when the translation direction that is sensed is input as non-zero and the action that sensed when being non-zero.The direction of described translational motion depends on the translation direction input that is sensed and changes.
The movement velocity of game object also can be controlled by system according to the present invention (for example system of describing in table 1 or table 2).
In one embodiment, the amplitude of the output signal of the processor 18 direction input that is provided as making the movement velocity of game object to depend on being sensed and changing. For example, consider to comprise the sensing direction device 14 of standard analog control stick.Specific direction that not only can the sensing control lever movement, how far this system can also move along this specific direction by the sensing control stick. Therefore, suppose the action that is sensed be non-zero (promptly, player's positive original place walking), if control stick just has been moved short distance along specific direction, then game role may be walked in game environment at leisure, if and control stick is moved to it to greatest extent along specific direction, then game role may be to run in game environment.
But in the embodiment of alternative, the output signal of processor 18 is provided as making the speed dependent of motion of game object in the speed of the action that is sensed and change. For example, suppose that the direction that is sensed is input as non-zero, then the user 12 of original place walking may be walking in game environment, and the user 12 who runs in the original place runs.
In a preferred embodiment, motion sensing device 16 is set for the action event of sense discrete. The example of this motion sensing device is a pedometer.Pedometer is dressed by user 12, the step (that is, in this embodiment, described discrete event is the step that user 12 advances) of advancing with sensing user 12.
The output signal of processor 18 is provided as making: when the direction that is sensed is input as non-zero, and when having sensed discrete action event by the motion sensing device in scheduled time slot, have the translational motion of game object. The direction of described translational motion depends on the direction input that is sensed and changes.
Therefore, consider that scheduled time slot T is set to the embodiment of 1 second pedometer. In this case, suppose that direction is input as non-zero, then the user 12 who moves one's steps with per second 1 step or above speed will be associated with the game role of continuous walking in game environment.Be lower than 1 step of per second if user's leg speed drops to, then game role will the mode with discontinuous jerking movement be walked in game environment. If user 12 stops to move one's steps fully, then game role will stop walking.Preferably, time T is configurable, so that provide different experience grades for user 12.
Therefore, in this embodiment, the discrete action event that motion sensor 16 can sensing user 12 is with simulation role's continuous motion.
Will be appreciated that, pedometer can provide daily exercise with based on specific common connection the between the exercise of video-game.For example, reach target step number every day, utilize pedometer to make the user can monitor the step number of advancing every day usually as its of customary part of taking exercise in order to make the user.If the user has just partly reached the target of walking its every day by dressing pedometer as usual during by day, then the user can utilize system of the present invention to come playing video game subsequently, reaches target step number up to it.
As indicated above, motion sensor 16 can comprise pedometer.Alternatively, motion sensor 16 can comprise at least one pressure pad, and described at least one pressure pad is set for the impact of sensing user 12 on this at least one pressure pad.Described at least one pressure pad can comprise the dancing pad.The motion sensor 16 that comprises at least one pressure pad is another examples of discrete movement event sensor.
But in another alternative embodiment, motion sensor 16 can comprise video camera. In this embodiment, described video camera is intended to be directed to towards the user, to watch user's big-movement.
In a preferred embodiment, this system can also comprise the motion control device with opening and closed condition.Described motion control device is preferably mutually integrated with direction sensor 14.This motion control device comprises the action sensor of the state that is set for the sensor operation control device. In addition, motion sensor 16 is set for a plurality of predetermined actions incidents of sensing.Output signal is provided as making game object to sense at action sensor and carries out predetermined action when motion control device is in opening then. The predetermined action incident that described predetermined action is sensed corresponding to motion sensor 16.
The example of game action be jump, shoot, impact, kick, squat down, stealthy or the like.
Motion control device can comprise the button that is positioned on the direction sensor 14.When this button was pressed by user 12, the state of this button was " unlatching ".When this button was not pressed by user 12, the state of this button was " closing ".Alternatively, motion control device can comprise switch.
Consider that wherein direction sensor is the embodiment of standard game pad, wherein, described standard game spacer has as the control stick of direction sensor 14 with as the button of motion control device. In addition, making motion sensor 12 is two pressure pads, that is, and and the left pressure pad 30 of the left foot that is used for the user 34 as shown in Figure 2 and the right pressure pad 32 that is used for user's right crus of diaphragm 36.The example set of predetermined actions incident and corresponding game action has been shown in table 3.
Table 3
Action event | Game action |
(a) two pads all are not activated | Jump |
(b) two pads all are activated | Squat down |
(c) have only |
Left side kicking |
(d) have only |
Right kicking |
With reference to table 3, when button is pressed, will take place and the corresponding game action of action event that is sensed. For example, if 12 of users stand on the left side pad 30 when button is pressed, then game role will carry out left side kicking in game environment.
Will be appreciated that, can imagine many other set of action event and corresponding game action at the various embodiments of motion sensor 16.In a further embodiment, Shun Xu user's big-movement can limit action event. For example, can limit action event in the following manner: left side pad 30 is carried out first activate, subsequently left side pad 30 is carried out second and activate, then right side pad 32 is activated. This order will be with relevant specific to the action of recreation.
Although described the preferred embodiments of the present invention, should be appreciated that these embodiment are the mode by means of example, and it is contemplated that various modifications.
