Abstract
The invention discloses a method, a system, a client and a server for software installation, the corresponding relation between the installation progress of an application program and multimedia in event execution process is pre-configured. The method comprises the steps of calculating the current installation process of the application program, and displaying the multimedia information corresponding to the current installation process according to the pre-configuration. By using the invention, the software installation process is enriched, and user's satisfaction is improved.

With the continuous development of Instant Messaging (IM) software, users can use IM software to communicate with friends, colleagues, classmates, etc. in both life and work. Therefore, the IM software has become one of the indispensable tools in the daily life of users at present.
Generally, after a user downloads IM software through a network, software installation is required to be performed to use the IM software, and therefore, the IM software installation is the first link of the user facing the software. In the prior art, when software installation is started, a welcome interface of the software installation is created firstly, and meanwhile, description files packed in an installation package are loaded, so that a user can know the functions and related protocols of the software by looking up characters, and click the next step to perform software installation operation after the user selects agreement with the related protocols. Then, in the installation process of the software, the installation progress of the software is mainly expressed through the installation progress bar, so that a user can check how long the user needs to wait for completing the installation of the software from the progress bar.
Therefore, in the prior art, the progress of software installation is expressed by using the progress bar, which often results in too monotonous software installation process, and further reduces the satisfaction degree of users on software installation.

The embodiment of the invention provides a server, which comprises: a storage unit and a selection unit; wherein,

and the display unit is used for displaying the multimedia information corresponding to the current installation progress according to the corresponding relation between the pre-configured installation progress of the application program and the multimedia information in the event execution process.

The server according to claim 12, wherein the triggering unit is configured to, in any installation progress except for a progress corresponding to currently and successfully completing installation of the application program, trigger the selecting unit to obtain an installation success prompting message according to a type corresponding to the event, and send a second notification to the sending unit after the selecting unit obtains the installation success prompting message;
and the sending unit is used for sending the installation success prompt information to a client after receiving the second notification.
