Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con una premezcla de alimento que comprende altas cantidades de ácido eicosapentaenoico ("EPA") y ácido docosahexaenoico ("DHA") como premezcla de alimento para animales, preferiblemente animales acuáticos, incluidos peces y camarones. Más particularmente, esta invención se relaciona con una premezcla de alimento destinada a la ingesta de animales acuáticos que comprende altas cantidades de EPA y DHA derivadas de una fuente microbiana, y vitaminas A, K, D, C, E, colesterol, fosfolípidos y ácido araquidónico, y bajas cantidades de aceite de pescado. La invención se refiere además a un método para producir un producto cárnico, preferiblemente un producto cárnico de acuicultura, al alimentar un animal, preferiblemente un pez, con una composición de alimento, dicho método comprende el paso de formular una composición de alimento que comprende DHA, preferiblemente EPA y DHA, derivados de de fuente microbiana, y vitaminas A, K, D, C, E, colesterol, fosfolípidos y ácido araquidónico, y bajas cantidades de aceite de pescado.
