Explosionsmotor.
Bei dem Explosionsmotor mit niederer Verdichtung gemäss Erfindung ist dieser Nachteil dadurch vermieden, class der aus gut wärmeleitendem Material bestehende Kolben einen über den Boden desselben nach dem Verdichtungsraum hin vorstehenden Rand besitzt, welcher derart;
Explosion engine. In internal combustion engines with a high degree of compression, the piston with its bottom reaches almost to the cylinder bottom at the moment of ignition, so that only a tiny part of the combustion chamber is cooled directly at the moment of ignition, and that part of the surface is directly cooled soft warmth remains limited to a small degree. Such internal combustion engines owe their favorable heat utilization to a large extent to this fact.
In the case of explosive power machines that have been used up to now and that work with low compression, the compression space is correspondingly larger, so that a relatively large area of the cylinder jacket with direct cooling is exposed, which extracts heat from the gases during ignition.
In the case of the explosion engine with low compression according to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided in that the piston, which is made of a material that is a good conductor of heat, has an edge protruding beyond the bottom of the same toward the compression chamber, which edge in this way;
is designed that, in the outer dead center position of the piston, it covers the length of the cooled jacket surface of the compression chamber located between the cylinder base and the piston base at least almost completely and has a cross-section that is narrowed towards the free edge in such a way that it ensures the fastest possible heat dissipation perform.
On the drawing; is a. Execute igs example of the subject matter of the invention represents.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through part of the engine; Fig. 2 is a variant; Fig. 3 shows the arrangement of the valves in the cylinder head.
It denotes a the bottom of the water-cooled cylinder b. h are two controlled valves arranged next to each other in the floor rc for the inlet of the fresh gases and the outlet of the combustion gases. According to Fig. 1, the spark plug f is arranged sideways in the cylinder cylinder b, according to FIG. 2, sideways in the cylinder base.
The piston playing in the cylinder cr, L has an edge c protruding beyond its base d towards the compression chamber, the free edge g of which almost touches the cylinder base when the piston is in its outer dead center position. This piston position is illustrated in the drawing.
The compression chamber is delimited by the cylinder testicle a, the piston crown d and the edge c of the piston at the moment of inflation. The cooled F1'.i (@lia of the cylinder jacket b is therefore not exposed inwards above the piston crown, but is almost completely covered by the wheel c.
The piston edge c acts during the highest temperature of the gas like eire @: riirmeschleizse; However, since it is in contact with the directly cooled cylinder jacket, it can never get as hot as the piston crown d. In addition, the edge c cools down between the individual explosion periods. This cooling is all the more effective, the better the material of the piston conducts the heat.
For this reason, the piston is made of good heat conducting light metal such as aluminum, aluminum alloy or Eleldron. The piston edge c supports the heat flow from the piston bottom to the cylinder wall.
The cross-sectional transitions of the edge c are respectively according to the heat flow. Z \ thermal conductivity of the relevant 3letalles from which the piston respectively. whose edge c is formed, similar to that for the piston skirt. As a result, the piston crown cannot become overly damaged.
This is synonymous with higher working temperatures of the gas, without having to fear self-ignitions.
The advantage of the described explosion engine is that the gas heat w * during & r Eiiii'I, -iiniiiiiii,) - will and will not hold together can escape through the directly cooled walls b. Here through v, the fuel is used just as well as in the combustion engines with higher compression mentioned at the beginning.
For the candle f. which in the arrangement of the valves according to Fig. 3, especially in small neren engines, in the cylinder bottom no space, a recess c: is provided in the edge c.
It is also the use of higher degrees of compression a15 previously made possible in explosion engines with lower compression.
