Description
Procédé < le fabrication d'an engrais azophosphaté. On a déjà décrit la préparation d'un engrais azophosphaté obtenu en traitant le phosphate tricalcique (phosphorite, scories Thomas) soit avec l'acide nitrique aqueux, soit avec les gaz humides contenant des vapeurs nitreuses; cet engrais a été désigné sous le nom de nitrophosphate.
Le produit ainsi obtenu, dans lequel l'acide phosphorique est solubilisé de la même manière que dans les superphosphates, présente, comme ces derniers, le -phénomène de la rétrograda tion, qui se traduit, dans ce cas, par 1a mise en liberté d'une partie de l'acide nitrique ; celle-ci est accompagnée d'un faible dégage ment de vapeurs nitreuses, qui constitue â la longue une perte en azote. Le procédé qui fait l'objet de la présente invention a pour but de remédier à cet in convénient.
II consiste à traiter le nitrophos- phate par de l'ammoniaque sèche jusqu'à neutralisation de toute l'acidité; dans ce but, il est bon que le nitrophospliate soit pul vérisé ou granulé de façon à offrir le meilleur contact aux gaz.
Process <the manufacture of an azophosphate fertilizer. The preparation of an azophosphate fertilizer has already been described, obtained by treating tricalcium phosphate (phosphorite, Thomas slag) either with aqueous nitric acid or with wet gases containing nitrous vapors; this fertilizer has been referred to as nitrophosphate.
The product thus obtained, in which the phosphoric acid is dissolved in the same way as in the superphosphates, exhibits, like the latter, the phenomenon of retrogradation, which in this case results in the release of 'part of nitric acid; this is accompanied by a weak evolution of nitrous vapors, which in the long run constitutes a loss of nitrogen. The object of the method which is the subject of the present invention aims to remedy this disadvantage.
It consists in treating the nitrophosphate with dry ammonia until neutralization of all the acidity; for this purpose, it is good for the nitrophosplate to be pulverized or granulated so as to offer the best contact to the gases.
