According to the invention, a watch case assembly, movement, winding crown, comprises a watch case, a winding crown with telescopic control rod, the telescopic control rod being mounted for axial displacement and in rotation in a tubular element secured to the housing, the telescopic control rod carrying at its inner end a control reference. The assembly further comprises a multi-function watch movement controlled by the winding crown in discrete axial positions of the telescopic control rod in which the control gear at the end of the control rod engages in rotation with a controlled forwarding in correspondence, which commanded forwarding is associated with a function of the movement. The winding crown is arranged to define the axial positions of the telescopic control rod according to the actuation of the winding crown between rest and actuation positions.
