<tb>Fig. 2:<sep>Integrierte Sicherheits-Blinkerkontrollleuchte
This invention relates to the increase in safety by time or momentum-controlled turn signal lights, especially in motorcycles, but also in other vehicles, also in ships. This invention may replace or supplement acoustic signals and other safety devices.
In traffic, the correct use of turn signals to indicate changes in direction of the highest relevance to safety. When the car is usually by mechanical resetting the turn signal circuit by turning back the steering wheel, the action of the turn signals canceled after the change of direction. In addition, the action of the turn signals is also shown to the driver by means of an acoustic signal and the indicator light on the instrument panel. With the motorcycle, the rear portion of the turn signal does not work with the handlebars, because the steering, in contrast to the steering wheel in the car, is much lower. The mechanism is not adjustable analogous to the steering wheel. The acoustic signal is either too weak and is not heard at high speeds and when wearing the helmet, or again extremely loud and disturbing when driving at low speed.
Adjusting the volume in relation to the speed is very expensive. Also, there are approaches in the patent literature to direct the acoustic signal by means of radio communication to a loudspeaker in the helmet, which is also a very complex construction. In addition, there are also proposed solutions that the turn signal is automatically switched off after a certain time. But since the time duration of the necessity of the turn signal action is very different, this is an uncertain solution. The problem is mainly that it is difficult, despite optimal placement of the indicator lights, to set the correct brightness of the indicator lights for each lighting situation. Either they are not strong enough and are overlooked in the glaring sunlight, or too strong and dazzle extremely at night.
A possible approach would be that the indicator light would be controlled by the ambient brightness. But that is difficult to set optimally. The current situation in the road shows repeatedly motorcycles, mopeds and similar vehicles, but also tractors, construction machinery, etc., which are on the move with flashing direction indicators, although they have no intention to change the direction of travel. This always gives rise to unsafe and extremely dangerous situations in road traffic.
It is therefore an object of the present invention that the driver is informed with this device that turn signals are still employed and remind him to turn off the indicators or to be aware flashing. This should also work at high speed and / or in different light conditions and thus make a relevant contribution to traffic safety.
This object is achieved by attaching an additional very bright flashing indicator light, which comes into function after a certain time or after a certain number of pulses, or by construction of the existing indicator lights to the effect that after a certain time or after a certain number Pulses much more intense and brighter flashing. The driver is therefore reminded thanks to this device, that turn signals are in operation and can thus turn off the turn signal if necessary or deliberately blink by operating the usual switch.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and will be described with reference to the same in the following description in detail and their structural design and purpose will be explained.
It shows:
<Tb> FIG. 1: <sep> Additional safety turn signal light
<Tb> FIG. 2: <sep> Integrated safety turn signal light
In Fig. 1, a simplest embodiment is shown. An additional turn signal lamp 2 next to the existing turn signal lamps 1 lights up very intensely after a time x (for example 15 seconds) or after pulses y (for example 20 flashes) since the turn signal was switched on.
In Fig. 2, the existing control lights 3 are designed so that they shine very intense after time x or pulses y. Normal weaker intensity: phase 1, high intensity (after the time x or the pulses y): phase 2.
The luminous intensity of these indicator lights 2 and 3 in phase 2 are - since they must attract attention even in glaring bright light the driver - deliberately set so strong that they could dazzle the driver in the dark. If it requires the traffic situation (which will not be very frequent) that the turn signal is still flashing, the driver can by briefly turning off and turn on the turn signal switch, the intense warning light 2 or the phase 2 of the modified warning light 3 for the time x or turn off the pulses y. After the time x or blinking pulses y, the safety indicator light becomes active again.
The Blinkerbetätigungsschalter but can also be functionally modified so that by briefly pressing the switch again (without turning off the turn signal before) how to turn on the turn signal of the turn signal very briefly and imperceptibly interrupted and turned on again, and so the intense indicator light. 2 or the phase 2 of the modified indicator light 3 for the time x or the pulses y is turned off. After the time x or blinking pulses y, the safety indicator light becomes active again.
