Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines Kopfkondensators,
Fig. 2).
The invention relates to a condenser, in particular a top condenser, with a condenser shaft for a high-flow vapor or gaseous medium with a predetermined moisture content, and with a condenser head placed on the condenser shaft for deflecting the medium into a heat exchanger, the heat exchanger being located in an open-topped heat exchanger housing with a housing wall and housing base and is arranged with a condensate drain located in the region of the housing base. - In the context of the invention, moisture content means any proportion of condensable liquids.
A capacitor, in particular a head capacitor of the embodiment described in the introduction, is known from practice. Head condensers of this type are usually used in distillation columns in the chemical industry. They regularly serve to recover the liquid components in, for example, a vaporous medium. These can be distillation products that can be returned to the process. This results in material savings. Top condensers also offer the possibility of being optimally adapted to the dimensions of chemical distillation columns.
A problem with head condensers of the embodiment described at the outset is that the condensate obtained in the course of the cooling of the high-flow vapor or gaseous medium can be warmed up. This is because this condensate is routed regularly to the condensate drain along the bottom of the housing. Since this housing base is generally in the gas or steam flow, and this current at least sweeps along it, the housing base is regularly heated, in particular by convection. This in turn has the consequence that heat is transferred from the housing base which has been heated or heated in this way to the condensate flowing off. Overall, heating of the liquid that occurs during the condensation is to be expected, which must be avoided.
If the vapor or gaseous medium is so-called vapors, i.e. Generally, air escaping from dryers or evaporators, which is supersaturated with water vapor and often contaminated, is demanded by industry that the condensate obtained be at a significantly lower temperature than the vapors. - This is where the invention begins.
The invention is based on the object of creating a generic condenser, in particular a top condenser, in which the condensate obtained is not heated by the vaporous or gaseous medium or is only heated within permissible limits.
To achieve this object, the invention proposes in the case of a generic capacitor, in particular a top capacitor, that at least the housing base is designed as a heat-insulating or heat-insulated base. By means of these measures of the invention it is achieved that the heat largely transferred to the housing base in the course of convection from the vapor or gaseous medium is practically not given off to the condensate flowing along the housing base. This is because the arrangement is regularly such that the heat exchanger is arranged above the housing base and is enclosed by the housing wall. This heat exchanger is regularly a plate heat exchanger, the plates of which are arranged essentially perpendicular to the housing base.
In any case, the flow of a cooling medium through the plate heat exchanger ensures that the heat exchanger has a temperature such that the liquid components to be separated from the vaporous or gaseous medium or the vapors are easily deposited on the plates. As a result of gravitation, this precipitate flows down the plates and drips onto the bottom of the housing, from where it is fed to the condensate drain as collected condensate. Due to the heat-insulating or heat-insulated design of this housing base, there is no longer any risk that heat will be transferred from the vapor or gaseous medium to the condensate at an impermissible level.
Further features essential to the invention are listed below. For example, the housing base regularly has an outer coating and / or an inner coating made of a heat-insulating material. In the case of the outer coating, this can be, for example, plastics which are resistant to contamination or acids / alkalis, such as, for example, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as Teflon. In the case of an inner coating, the use of durable plastics, for example polycarbonate, polystyrene or polyvinyl chloride, is also conceivable.
Of course, plastics such as polyamide or polyethylene can also be used. It is important that the thermal conductivity of the housing base or its layer structure is set as low as possible. The smaller the value of the thermal conductivity, the less the bottom of the housing conducts the thermal energy which is transferred to it by the vapor or gaseous medium. At the same time, its ability to insulate itself increases. In this context, it is also possible to use plastic foam as a coating. to be used in conjunction with wood. Glass is also conceivable, but because of its easy destructibility it is not very suitable. Of course, sandwich coatings can also be realized within the scope of the invention, for example made of metal / plastic.
However, one can also proceed in such a way that the housing base is designed as a raised floor with a space between the bases. This floor space can also be evacuated in order to further reduce the thermal conductivity of the housing base and to increase its thermal insulation properties or the achievable thermal insulation. In this connection, the space between the floors can also be filled or covered with a heat-insulating material. For example, a foam filling is conceivable. In general, the floor space additionally has a condensate drain opening for moisture condensing in the floor space. For the most part, this is only necessary in the event that the space between the floors is not a hermetically sealed, for example evacuated, space.
Furthermore, according to a preferred embodiment with independent meaning, it is provided that the housing wall or part of it is designed to be heat-insulating. This means that the housing wall - alternatively or in addition to the housing base - can contribute to thermal insulation. This is particularly advisable in the event that the condensate also flows along the housing wall. Such thermal insulation is also recommended in order to increase the efficiency of the heat exchanger. Because in the area of the housing wall, which is heated by the vapor or gaseous medium, there is otherwise the danger that the plates of a plate heat exchanger arranged in the vicinity are practically heated twice.
On the one hand through the medium flowing along the housing wall, on the other hand through the deflected steam or gas which is passed through the heat exchanger. Thermal insulation at this point, i.e. in the area of the housing wall now leads to at least the heat transfer being reduced by the medium flowing along the housing wall. In any case, this has a positive effect on the ability to form precipitation on the plates of the heat exchanger. Like the housing base, the housing wall can have an outer coating and / or an inner coating made of a heat-insulating material. These can be the same materials that have already been mentioned in connection with the case bottom.
According to a further preferred embodiment, however, the procedure is generally such that the housing wall is designed as a double wall with a space between the walls. If the housing floor also has a floor space, it is possible to connect the floor space and wall space to one another and to evacuate as a whole or to fill or cover as a closed space with a heat-insulating material. Of course, only the space between the walls can be filled or covered with a heat-insulating material.
If this wall space is not designed as a hermetically sealed space, it generally has a condensate drain opening for moisture condensing in the wall space. This condensate drain opening can be a common drain opening for the floor space and the wall space, provided that both are connected to one another.
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of a drawing illustrating only one exemplary embodiment; show it:
1 is a side view of a top capacitor,
Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through Fig. 1 in the region of the housing bottom of the heat exchanger housing and
3 is a plan view of the object of FIG. 2 or a partial cross section through FIG. 1st
A capacitor, in the exemplary embodiment a head capacitor, is shown in the figures. Head condensers of this type are used regularly in chemical process columns, for example to remove liquid residues in vaporous or gaseous media. The head condenser shown has a condenser shaft 1 for a high-flow vapor or gaseous medium 2 with a predetermined moisture content. The flow of the vaporous or gaseous medium 2 is indicated by arrows in FIG. 1. Furthermore, a condenser head 3 placed on the condenser shaft 1 is provided for deflecting the medium 2 into a heat exchanger 4. The heat exchanger 4 is arranged in a heat exchanger housing 5 which is open at the top and has a housing wall 5a and a housing base 5b and a condensate drain 6 located in the region of the housing base 5b.
In addition, there is a coolant inlet 7 and a coolant outlet 8 for the heat exchanger 4. This is again indicated by corresponding arrows.
At least the housing base 5b is heat-insulating. For this purpose, the housing base 5b has an outer coating and / or an inner coating made of a heat-insulating material. However, this is not shown. According to the exemplary embodiment, the housing base is designed as a raised floor with a space 9 between the bases (cf. FIG. 2). There is also the possibility of filling or covering this intermediate space 9 with a heat-insulating material 10. This is shown in FIG. 2, according to which the floor space 9 has a layer made of the material 10. Also shown is a condensate drain opening 11 for moisture condensing in the intermediate space 9. The housing base 5b or
Raised floor with intermediate space 9 is designed in such a way that a tub 12 is attached, welded or riveted to the bottom of the heat exchanger housing 5. The heat exchanger 4 is a plate heat exchanger with plates 4a arranged essentially perpendicular to the housing base 5b. 1 and 2 make this immediately clear.
In the exemplary embodiment, the housing wall 5a is also - at least partially - heat-insulating. It too can have an outer coating and / or an inner coating made of a heat-insulating material. However, this is not shown. Rather, the housing wall 5a is designed as a double wall with an intermediate space 13. 2 in particular makes it clear that the floor space 9 and the wall space 13 form a continuous space 9, 13, with condensate occurring in this space 9, 13 being able to drain through the common condensate drain opening 11. Of course, it is also possible that the wall space 13 has its own condensate drain opening for moisture condensing in the wall space 13. However, this is not shown.
It is also shown to fill or cover the wall space 13 with a heat-insulating material 10. Here is a covering - as in the floor space 9 - made of the heat insulating material 10. In any case, insulation of the housing base 5b, such as partial insulation of the housing wall 5a, is achieved overall by connecting the trough 12 to the heat exchanger housing 5 at points 14 in the manner already described. In this case, the housing base 5b is inclined by approximately 5 ° with respect to the horizontal in order to ensure that the condensate dripping from the plates 4a runs smoothly in the direction of the condensate drain 6.
It can be seen from FIG. 3 that the heat exchanger housing 5 has a rectangular cross section with an arcuate longitudinal side 15 adapted to the curvature of the regularly circular condenser. This arcuate longitudinal side 15 is arranged at a predetermined distance from the top capacitor in its interior. In any case, the quasi-rectangular cross section of the heat exchanger housing 5 allows a practically space-filling arrangement of the heat exchanger 4 in its interior, the plates 4 a of which are arranged in the longitudinal extent of the heat exchanger housing 5. The vapor-free or gaseous medium 2 freed from moisture exits the top condenser after passing through the heat exchanger 4 through an outlet or the condensate drain 6.
The heat-insulating design of the housing base 5b, such as part of the housing wall 5a, ensures that the vapor or gaseous medium 2 flowing in the condenser shaft 1 does not transfer any or only a small amount of heat to the condensate flowing along the housing base 5b in the direction of the condensate drain 6 can. The same applies to moisture occurring in the intermediate space 9, 13, which is discharged via the condensate drain opening 11.
