DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
The subject of the invention is a logic combination puzzle toy consisting of mobile elements which can occupy a variety of positions relative to each other and which are arranged in such a way that, by the play of the movements printed on a group of the said. elements, these display, in one or more determined positions, one or more winning configurations.
The Hungarian patent N "170 062 describes a logic combination toy having the shape of a cube today known by the name of Rubik Cube from the name of its inventor. This cube itself is composed of 26 small mobile cubes and d 'a small central cube with cross-pieces. The different positions are obtained by printing, each time with a block of 9 small cubes making up one of the faces of the cube, of movements around the X, Y and Z axes.
There is also known a set consisting of square plates marked with letters and / or numbers, but displaceable only in the two axes X and Y relative to each other within a square or rectangular frame. Furthermore, the possibility of displacement of the plates implies that a clearance space corresponding to the surface of a plate is provided.
The object of the present invention is to produce a puzzle-puzzle with logical combinations according to the preamble of claim 1, which differs from the prior art both in structure and in operation.
To this end, the puzzle toy is characterized in that it consists only of external mobile elements forming a spherical shell.
It is understood that the essential differences reside not only in a new topology, but also and above all in the absence of any central element, the sphere according to the invention being hollow.
Other original characteristics will emerge from the description of an embodiment of the object of the invention. For reading this description, reference will be made to the appended drawing, in which:
fig. la and lb represent two different configurations at the same time as the general form of the subject of the invention,
fig. 2 is an exploded perspective view showing the device for sliding the movable elements relative to each other,
fig. 3 is an interior view of the spherical shell along the equatorial plane,
fig. 4 is an interior view of the spherical shell according to the meridian plane IV-IV of FIG. 3.
We see in fig. la and lb the external movable elements constituting the spherical shell 1, namely the half-spindles 100B, 100C, 100M, the semi-meridian segments 200B, 200C,
The equatorial ring composed of a half-ring 300 and a half-ring 400.
The letters B, C, M symbolize in the example described different presentations of the elements (white, color, pattern). These presentations are not, of course, limiting; we will disregard them in fig. 2 to 4 and the letters B, C, M will not be reproduced in the following description.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the half-time zones and the half-meridian segments are imperfect; in fact, the equatorial side 101 of the half-spindles 100 slide along the faces 301, 302, 401, 402 of the equatorial rings 300, 400, that is to say on planes 3, 4 parallel to the equatorial geometric plane 2 and equidistant of the latter with a half thickness of the ring 300, 400. Likewise, the middle sides 102, 103 of the half-spindles 100 slide along the faces 201, 202 of the half-meridian segments, c ' that is to say on planes 6, 7, parallel to the geometric meridian plane 5, and equidistant therefrom with a half thickness of the segment 200.
It thus follows from the construction of the sphere 1 that the points 104 of the half-spindles do not merge with the poles 8, 9 (fig. 3), but are located at a distance r from the latter, distance which is a function of the width of the meridian segment.
Similarly, the equatorial side 203 of the segments 200 guided in the rings 300, 400, as will be described later, slides along the equatorial planes 3, 4, while the meridian sides slide as it has just been said about the spindles 100, along the planes 6, 7. The edges of the upper extreme parts 204 of the segments 200 are at the same distance r from the poles 8, 9 as the points 104 of the spindles 100.
The relative position of all the constituent elements of the spherical shell, spindles 100, segments 200, rings 300, 400, can be modified by imparting to groups of elements a movement or a succession of movements. For this, the sides of the elements are shaped so that the group of elements, whose relative position is to be changed by one or more of the movements invoked, can slide relative to the other elements.
These movements, which are of three types, can be easily understood with the aid of FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. First, each hemisphere, consisting of spindles 100 and segments 200, can slide on the equatorial rings 300, 400; it is therefore equatorial movements around the axis of the poles 8, 9 on the planes 3, 4. Secondly, an equatorial movement, also having as axis of rotation the axis of the poles 8, 9, makes it possible to turn the equatorial rings 300, 400 so that two diametrically opposite and external clearances 500 provided on the ring 300 (fig. 2 and 3) can be brought opposite two semi-meridian segments 200 also diametrically opposite.
This second type of movement makes it possible to operate a third, namely movement along a meridian circle 10 situated in the meridian plane 7, the axis of rotation of this circle being perpendicular to the latter and passing through the center. of the spherical shell 1. By this movement, a chosen northern half-hemisphere will be brought to the south and vice versa.
So that this last meridian movement is always possible, it is imperative that the number of half-spindles on a hemisphere and correlatively that of half-meridian segments are always an even number. In the execution described, the number chosen was 8, ie 16 half-time zones and 16 half-meridian segments in total. In addition, a minimum opening, polygonal, or circular of radius r, conditioned by the construction, more precisely by the width of the segment 200, will remain apparent.
The parts of a decoration must appear on at least two elements of the spherical shell 1. The interest of the game consists, thanks to a logical sequence of the movements described above, in finding one or more just configurations, these being materialized by the possible reconstruction (s) of the decor. We will talk in the following about the winning configuration text (s).
The decorations to be reproduced can be very varied. They consist in particular of a combination of colors reproduced on the elements and / and inscriptions, or / and by fancy patterns.
Of course, the difficulty of reconstituting the decoration will depend on the number of different parts of it appearing on a set of elements, or even on all the elements. In the example of fig. lb, eight half-spindles (four of which are visible) have a certain color (in gray in the figure), the other eight are of another color, gold for example. A winning combination will be to bring all eight gray zones into the northern hemisphere, another winning combination may be an alternate presentation, as shown in fig. lb. Yet another, less effective combination will be materialized by the fact that, on each hemisphere, a half-hemisphere, that is to say four spindles placed one next to the other, are all of the same gray color, while the other four spindles have the color gold.
The player can therefore adapt the degree of difficulty to his mastery of the game.
The degree of difficulty to reproduce the winning combination shown in fig. the is substantially greater than that of FIG. lb.
Indeed, we have matched the combination of colors of the zones by different letters appearing on each zone, letters which it is a question of aligning according to a certain sequence to form a word (in fig. 1A the word play, the non visible part of the hemisphere producing for example the word nice.
In addition, the semi-meridian segments, as well as the equatorial rings may also have to intervene in the reconstruction of the decor (s). (In fig. La, the eight semi-meridian segments of the southern hemisphere are colored.)
The appeal of the game can be increased by the fact that the most efficient winning configuration (for example in fig. La, all the colored elements appear in the same hemisphere and the words nice and play are reproduced) makes it possible to release by l 'one of the poles a playful, fancy or advertising object, for example a polyhedron or a ball, not shown, enclosed in the spherical shell.
We will refer to fig. 4 which shows an interior view of the shell according to the plane IV-IV of FIG. 3. In this fig. 4, it can be seen that the opening DN of the pole 8, that is to say the opening corresponding to the north pole of the shell, was provided greater than that of Ds of the pole 9, the latter corresponding to that of the radius r of fig. 3.
In the example, the ball having a diameter equal to DN, or very slightly less than DN, will remain enclosed inside the shell in all the configurations other than the winning configuration. On the contrary, the latter only will release it through the DN opening.
We will now describe, by way of example, a non-limiting embodiment of the sliding and guiding means of the various external mobile elements constituting the spherical shell 1, with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
The equatorial ring consists of a ring 300 and a ring 400 both having the same parallelepiped section. The upper face and the lower face each have, near the outer edge, a groove 303 in the form of a T-shaped mortise. The two grooves are identical, opposite, and have the same axis of symmetry. On the inner face are formed two grooves 304 of identical shape to the grooves 303, but with parallel and radial axes.
As we saw above, the ring 300 has an external recess 500, the depth of this recess being barely greater than the thickness of the half-spindles 100 and of the segments 200. The periphery of the ring 300 is slightly greater than 180 ", since the projecting terminal parts 305, situated on the inside of the ring, extend beyond the meridian plane 5 by half a thickness of a segment 200.
On the contrary, the periphery of the ring 400 is slightly less than 180, since its front faces 405 abut against the front faces 306 of the end parts 305 of the ring 300.
Each semi-meridian segment 200 has on each of its meridian sides a T-shaped groove 206 of the same section as the grooves 303, 304.
The equatorial end part 207 (fig. 4) also has a swan neck 208 protruding inward, the final part 209 of the swan neck, that is to say the branch returning outward ending by a T-shaped protuberance 210 intended to slide in the groove 304, 404, corresponding to the ring 300, 400 (that is to say in the lower grooves 304, 404 for the segments 200 located in the lower hemisphere, and in the upper grooves 304, 404 for the segments 200 located in the upper hemisphere).
It should be noted that, when the recesses 500 of the ring 300 are opposite two diametrically opposite segments 200, said ring is secured by means of the protrusion 210 of five semi-meridian segments of each hemisphere, ie ten in total , while the ring 400 is integral with the other three segments 200 of each hemisphere, or six in total.
Finally, each half-spindle has, both on its equatorial side and on its two meridian sides, and on all along said sides, tongues 105, 106, in the shape of a T intended to slide in the grooves 303, 403 of the ring 300, 400, on the one hand, and in the grooves 206 of two adjacent segments 200, on the other hand.
Thus conferred, the elements or groups of elements 100, 200, 300 and 400, slide relative to one another thanks to the guidance device mentioned when the three types of movements described above are carried out.
Sliding takes place continuously when the surfaces of the guide devices are smooth. But it is possible to obtain, in an alternative embodiment, sliding step by step, that is to say by notches, by arranging on the guide surfaces of the bosses, respectively of the recesses, partially represented by 211 and 107 on fig. 2.
The elements constituting the spherical shell as well as the ball that can be placed inside can be produced in a wide range of materials (metal, wood, synthetic materials in particular).
The outside diameter of the described sphere is 100 mm, but it is clear that other dimensions, smaller for example, can be chosen to execute the puzzle toy.
The puzzle toy according to the invention offers a very wide variety of logical combinations, the possibility of choosing the degree of difficulty according to the intended configuration as well as an extremely easy handling. It can be implemented for educational or advertising purposes.
Its hollow shape gives it a very light weight and makes it possible to widen playful applications. Finally, the rational design of the spherical shell, this comprising only four different movable elements, allows manufacturing at a very low cost price.
