Abstract

The upper decorative element (6) is a portion of a disc rotating in a ball bearing above the top of the watch case (4), under the hour and minutes hands. Its shape is such that the centre of mass is well away from the axis, so that the least movement sets it in rotary motion. The lower decorative element (8) is another free-rotating disc below the underside of the case, with a crescent-shaped portion (8') offsetting its centre of mass. As this element rotates, the jewels (9) set into recesses (10) in the crescent are seen moving behind four fixed windows (12). ADVANTAGE - Original dynamic aesthetic effect is created by rotation of two decorative elements as result of movement of wearer.
