PATENTANSPRÜCHE

Fig. 3c eine Draufsicht auf den Schrank,
Fig. 5 die zusammengebaute Schublade in seitlicher Darstellung.

6. Drawer according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the drawer front (46) forms a separate unit which is fastened to the drawer by rivets (52) or the like.
The present invention relates to a drawer made of sheet metal, in particular for a tool cabinet made of sheet metal.
Tool cabinets made of sheet metal are used in particular in the industrial area for storing tools and small parts, since these are resistant to wear and damage. Such cabinets were completed by the manufacturer because the manufacture of such cabinets requires equipment, for example automatic welding systems, which are not available at the installation site of the cabinet. This causes high expenses for transport and packaging, since a cabinet created has a large volume per unit weight.
With a view to simplifying the distribution of cabinets of the type mentioned above, it has been proposed that the cabinets be assembled at the installation site, which requires that the set-up time should be very short for cost reasons. This in turn requires a system other than the use of the known connections, for example by means of screws, rivets or welded connections. To achieve this, the drawers are composed of parts that can be coordinated according to a certain sequence without the use of screws, rivets or welded joints, so that the parts together form a stable unit.
The technique mentioned has proven very useful in cupboards with shelves and doors. In cabinets with drawers or other types of containers, this technology has not made any improvement possible, since the total transport volume of the drawers almost corresponds to the transport volume of the assembled cabinet. The present invention therefore proposes to reduce the transport volume of the drawers, so that both the cabinet and the drawers can be transported economically and assembled in a short time at the installation site.
The object is achieved by a drawer with the features of independent claim 1. Further advantageous developments result from the dependent claims.
An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. Show it:
1a-lc perspective views of several possible combinations of a cabinet with drawers,
2a-2f in a perspective view of how the cabinet is assembled,
Fig. 3a-3c details of the cabinet as shown above, in particular
3a is a front view of a cabinet without drawers,
3b is a section along the line B - B in Fig. 3a,
3c is a plan view of the cabinet,
Fig. 4 is a plan view of a piece of sheet metal from which the drawer is formed and
Fig. 5 shows the assembled drawer in a side view.
The device according to FIG. 1 comprises a base 10, which is fastened to a plate 11 of a work table, the base having a number of drawers 12. Ib shows a base 10 which stands on the floor. This carries a plate 11 and also several drawers. The device according to FIG. 1c comprises a base 10 with a plate 11, the base having both drawers 12 and a space covered by a door 13 with a shelf 14.
The base in all the devices shown above consists of two side parts 15, a rear part 16, a frame part 17 and possibly also a bottom part 18. The side parts as well as the rear parts have adjacent corner parts 19 and 20 which are bent in this way, that the parts engage in one another after their combination and rotation and are connected to one another.
The method described above is shown in FIGS. 2a-2f, where FIG. 2a shows the side parts 15 and the rear part 16, which are aligned for the assembly. 2b shows how the bent corner parts 19 and 20 of the rear and side parts engage in one another, so that when the rotation is complete, they are connected to one another by friction. The corner parts 19 and 20 are also provided with a number of openings 21 which are arranged such that the adjacent openings are opposite after rotation and form a number of through openings. If both side parts 15 are rotated so that they are parallel, the frame part 17 is inserted at the front between these parts.
The rods of the frame part are now, as shown in Fig. 2c, inserted between a bent corner part 22 of the side part and this itself. The bars are held in this position by clamping action while the other parts are being assembled. If a bottom 18 is provided, this is inserted in accordance with FIG. 2d. The base is carried along the side parts and the rear part by means of punched stops, not shown here.
The bottom 18 prevents the frame part 17 from falling back into the cabinet. Shelf supports (not shown here) and slide rails 23 are then mounted in the cabinet (FIG. 2e). The slide rails 23 are in the openings 21st
the rear wall of the cabinet and in the openings in the side struts of the frame part 17 hooked with the help of approaches 24 and 26. As a result, the rear wall, the side parts and frame parts are locked against one another, so that the rear wall and the side parts can no longer be moved in the vertical direction.
Finally, a drawer 12 is hung in two hooks 27, which is arranged on an inner rail 28 of the slide rail, this rail 28 being guided in the slide rail, for example by means of balls 29. In order to limit the space which is not used for drawers, a door can be attached to the frame part.
As shown in FIGS. 3 a - 3 c, the frame part 17 contains a vertical region 30 which is bent in such a way that it has a longitudinal groove 31. This groove receives a latch 32 which can be moved from the position indicated by solid lines in FIG. 3c to the position shown by dashed lines in the same figure. In the last-mentioned position, the latch engages in a recess in each drawer when they are in the inserted position on the slide rail 23. The bolt is under the action of an eccentric 33 arranged in the vertical region, which engages in an oval opening 34 of the bolt, wherein rotation of the eccentric by means of a key or similar means causes the bolt 32 to move in the groove 31.
The drawer 12 shown in the figures is produced from a sheet metal plate 35 of the shape shown in FIG. 4. The plate has a bottom 36, two side walls 37 and a rear wall 38, which are separated from one another by perforated areas. The side wall 37 as well as the rear wall 38 have an area 40 which protrudes from the walls and a number of slots 41. The rear wall has a tab 42 on each side near the side walls which is perforated 43 from the wall is separated. The side walls have a tongue 44 near the rear wall 38 which can be inserted through one of the perforated openings in the rear wall. The side walls also have two openings 45, in which a front part of the drawer can be attached.
A protruding edge 47 is provided on the bottom part 36 and a protruding edge 48 on the side wall 37 and on the rear wall 38 before the plate 35 has the shape shown in FIG. 4. This is shown by the dash-dotted lines in FIG. 4. Subsequently, the edges 47 and 48 were bent 90 "along the lines 49 and 50, respectively. The edge 47 is bent again 90" along the line 51 and takes on the shape which is shown in FIG. 4 by the dashed line.
This form also appears in Fig. 5.
The drawer as well as the other components of the cabinet are delivered individually to the installation site.
The drawers are also created when the base is put together. This is done by manually folding the side walls 37 90 "up from the floor and along the perforations 39. Afterwards, the rear wall 38 is also folded up 90". The tongues 44 on the side walls engage in corresponding perforations 43 in the rear wall 38. The tabs 42 can now be deformed such that the side walls and the rear wall are fixed to one another. Now the drawer front 4b is fastened to the front part of the drawer by means of rivets 52 or the like, the U-shaped bottom part of the drawer front encompassing the curved front edge of the drawer.
After inserting partitions into the slots 41, the drawer is ready to be hung in the slide rails 23 in the manner described above.
It is pointed out that this device also has the advantage that the slide rails and the drawers can be attached anywhere in the base and that the lock bolt 32 can be used for any arrangement.
