PATENTANSPRUCH Färbestabile (o-)Modifikation des Farbstoffs der Formel I
EMI1.1

PATENT CLAIM Stable (o-) modification of the dye of formula I.
EMI1.1
characterized by relatively strong, characteristic lines in the X-ray diagram, Cu-K, I radiation, with grid spacing of 14.1.8.2.7.8 and 3.4.10-10 m.
It has been found that the disperse dye of the formula I
EMI1.2
can exist in four crystal modifications, two (a, ss) as unstable under staining conditions and two (y o) as stable.
Disperse dyes are generally used mainly by the so-called exhaust process.
The substrate to be dyed is treated at temperatures between about 70 and 130 µm in a dye liquor which, in addition to dispersing agents, inorganic or organic salts and / or organic acids (to adjust the optimum pH), the finely divided dye, which is difficult to dissolve in water contains. In such a dye liquor, unstable dyes rearrange their crystal modification when the temperature is increased, the dispersion collapsing to form relatively large crystals which are unusable for dyeing.
The result of such a coloring is a weakly and / or unevenly colored substrate with superficial deposits of unfixed dye, which in addition to mostly reduced light, wash, sweat and similar fastness properties means an economic loss and excessively pollutes the waste water.
The two unstable crystal forms of the dye of the formula I, referred to as the a- and p-modification, arise: the a-modification in the usual preparation by known methods by coupling the diazotized amine of the formula II
EMI1.3
on the aqueous solution of the compound of formula III
EMI1.4
at pH 3-6 and 0-10 C in aqueous medium; the t3 form could be obtained by recrystallizing the dried a-modification from 2-ethoxyethanol and by heating the coupling suspension of a 1.0 mol mixture to about 95 ° C. in the presence of sodium dinaphthalmethane disulphonic acid for one to three hours.
The y-modification occurs in a small batch (0.1 mol) when the coupling suspension (a-form) or the press cake (0-form) is heated to 95-100 "C or, under pressure, in the presence of sodium dinaphthylmethane disulfonic acid to 130" C. It was also formed when the mold was recrystallized again from 2-methoxy or 2-ethoxyethanol.
The 8-form is formed by refluxing the dried a-form in water for one hour, by treating the form in aqueous suspension for two hours, in the presence of sodium dinaphthylmethane disulfonic acid and by treating dried y-form dye at 130 ° C. in aqueous suspension for two hours , in the presence of dinaphthylmethane disulfonic acid sodium and small amounts of the 8-form of this dye (inoculate).
The 8-form of the dye of the formula is shown by the following lines in the X-ray diagram (according to Guinier / De Wolff, taken with Cu-K, I radiation) at grid spacings of 14.1 (m) *, 11.5 (vw), 10.3 (vw), 8.2 (m), 7.8 (m), 7.2 (w), 5.08 (w), 4.9 (vw), 4.7 (vw), 4 , 5 (vw), 4.25 (vw), 3.69 (m), 3.48 (w), 3.4 (m), 3.19 (w), 3.14 (vw) and 3, 1 (f). Marked 10-10 m.
* Intensity of the lines: (m) = medium, (w) = weak, (vw) = very weak.
The 8-modification of the dye of formula I according to the invention excellently draws on fibers or threads or materials made therefrom from fully or semi-synthetic, hydrophobic, high-molecular organic substances, in particular those from linear, aromatic polyesters, cellulose 2l / 2- and cellulose triacetate, but also made of synthetic polyamides, and gives brilliant, greenish-yellow colors with excellent fastness properties. In the following examples, the parts mean parts by weight, the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 clutch under normal conditions
17.7 parts of benzyl p-anwinobenzoate (100%) are dissolved in 70 parts of glacial acetic acid at 500C, with 20 parts of conc.
Hydrochloric acid, 40 parts of ice and another 20 parts of conc. Hydrochloric acid added. At 4-6 C, the fine crystal suspension is then quickly mixed with 22 parts of a 4N sodium nitrite solution. The mixture is stirred for 10 minutes at 10-12 "C, then cooled to 0-50C with ice, freed from excess nitrite with amidosulfonic acid, filtered and used for coupling.
A solution of 16.2 parts of in-butyl-3-cyano-6-hydroxy-4-methylpyridone-2 in 200 parts of water at pH 5-7 and 0-5 "C with stirring for about 1 hour The diazo solution is added, the pH being maintained by adding sodium hydroxide solution and the temperature being maintained by adding ice. Finally, there is a very small excess of diazo. The mixture is stirred overnight, the suspension warms to room temperature and the excess of diazo disappears. Filtering, washing out and drying (at 60 ° C in a vacuum) gives the dye in very good yield and purity.
It is in the unstable a-crystal form, which is characterized by the strong and medium-strong lines in the X-ray diagram (weak and very weak lines) given below: 10.0 medium, 3.48 strong, 3.38 medium and 3.29 medium (grid spacing in angstrom units).
Example 2
Conversion to the thermostable crystal form
10 parts of the dye obtained according to Example I, used in the form of the dried material or as a moist press cake, are mixed with water to give a thin paste. Then 1 part of a surface-active substance (eg dinaphthylmethane disulfonic acid sodium) is added and the mixture is heated in an autoclave for two hours at 130-132 "C. After cooling, filtering, washing and drying, the dye is obtained in the stable 3-modification with the for This form characteristic lines in the X-ray diffraction diagram. Instead of the isolated dye, the uncoupled dye suspension can also be subjected to the untreated heat treatment described above, the dye being converted into the stable form in a particularly economical manner.
Example 3
The dye obtained in Example 2 and in the color-stable crystal form is ground by means of sand grinding in the presence of dispersants, e.g. Lignin sulfonates, and subsequent atomization into an ultradisperse dye preparation with an average particle size Q 1 u and a coupage ratio of 3: 10.
10.0 parts of the ultradisperse dye preparation are dispersed with 1000 parts of water, and the circulating liquor (13000 parts, containing 30 parts of ammonium sulfate and 0.3 parts of formic acid as a buffer mixture) is added at 60 ° C. The pre-cleaned and pressed cheese (1000 Parts of PE yarn on a plastic sleeve) are then introduced, the dyeing autoclave is closed and heated within 35 minutes from 60 ° C. to 130 ° C. After 15 minutes at 1300 ° C. the mixture is cooled to 80 ° C., the liquor drawn off is drained off and the colored bobbin is washed with cold water Washed thoroughly, then swung and dried in a drying cabinet.
You get a depth (about 2/1 standard depth), perfectly level, pure coloring of a greenish-yellow shade, free of filtering, with excellent wet and rub fastness. The dye liquor is practically colorless, the dyeing machine shows no deposits and can be used immediately for the next dyeing.
