Man kann auf diese Weise verschiedenste Profile, wie Verzahnungen, Gewinde und dergleichen herstellen, die in der Regel einer Wärme - Nachbehandlung zu unterwerfen sind, wobei sich bekanntlich Formänderungen einstellen können. Dies ist für präzisere Teile nicht tragbar und man hat deshalb mit grossem Aufwand die Walzen entsprechend hergestellt, was umfangreiche Versuche und mehrfaches Nachbearbeiten erforderte.
