5. Device according to claim 4, characterized in that the cover of the tank is removable and provided with means for hooking to the tank and a retractable carrying handle.
The present invention relates to a device for the cold sterilization of baby bottles by immersion in an aqueous disinfectant solution.
It is known to sterilize bottles by immersing them in a tank containing water supplemented with soluble tablets of a disinfectant product based on chlorine or other.
The object of the present invention is to use this cold sterilization method for sterilizing baby bottles by means of an easily transportable device, of rational use and intended in particular for lovers of camping and caravanning.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of an enclosure formed by a tank and a cover, a basket of the same shape as the tank, nestable in the tank, and provided, at its lower part, handles articulated in the form of arms and provided with notches intended to hang on the edge of the tank, so as to allow the basket to be suspended at different levels on the edge of the tank.
The handles of the basket, in the form of arms, preferably have three substantially equidistant notches which make it possible to suspend the basket on the tank at three levels corresponding, in the tank, to three different volumes, the second volume being substantially equal to twice the first volume and the third volume being substantially equal to three times the first volume. By this device, we realize an imaginary division of the tank into three volumes. The user will use one of these three volumes according to the number of bottles he wants to sterilize, that is to say according to the number of bottles arranged, lying down, in the basket. The height of these volumes is also adapted to the diameter of the bottles arranged lying in the basket.
The basket being at the bottom of the tank, the distance between each notch and the upper edge of the tank is also approximately a multiple of the diameter of the bottles.
The basket is preferably divided into three vertical compartments in each of which the bottles can be laid one on the other in a vertical.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention:
fig. 1 represents a front elevation view of the closed device,
fig. 2 shows a plan view thereof,
fig. 3 represents a side elevation view thereof,
fig. 4 represents the open device, the tank being seen in section,
fig. 5 shows a view similar to that of FIG. 4, the basket being suspended on the tank.
Closed, the device is presented as a case consisting of a rectangular rectangular tank 1 hermetically closed by a cover 2, removable and fixed to the tank 1 by two lockable hanging devices 3 and 4. The cover is further provided with a handle 5 retractable in a rib 6. In the cover is also provided a box closed by a cover 7 integrated into the cover 2. This box is intended for the storage of a reserve of soluble disinfectant tablets.
The tank contains a basket 8 of the same shape as the tank I and freely nestable in this tank. This basket is made up of a plastic mesh or perforated panels. It is subdivided into three vertical spaces by two intermediate vertical walls 9 and 10 constituted in the same way as the rest of the basket.
The width of each of these three compartments is slightly greater than the diameter of a bottle 11, so as to allow the bottles to be stacked vertically in each compartment, in the supine position. At the lower part of the basket 8, on the short side of the basket, are articulated two arms 12 and 13 whose ends 12a and 1 3a are slightly bent inward and are connected by two bars parallel to each other, and perpendicular to the plane of the drawing (fig. 4), with two arms identical to the arms 12 and 13 articulated on the opposite face of the basket. The arms thus form two arches which, when they are tilted against one another, in position 12 ′ and 13 ′, form a single handle making it possible to carry the basket and introduce it, respectively remove it from the tank 1.
Each of the poles preferably came from a single piece of synthetic material.
Each arm is provided with three notches 14, 15 and 16 intended to hang on the edge of the tank 1. The vertical distance between each of these notches 14, 15 and 16 is respectively equal to approximately once, twice and three times the diameter of a bottle 11.
By spreading the arms 12 and 13, it is possible to suspend the basket 8 by one of the notches 14, 15 or 16, at three different heights, on the edges of the tank, as shown in FIG. 5. These three levels of basket 8 define, in the tank, three volumes, the second volume being twice the first volume and the third volume three times the first volume. If the capacity of the first volume is for example 4.5 I, the capacity of the second volume will be 9 and the capacity of the third volume 13.5 1.
This device is used in the following way: if the user wishes, for example, to sterilize four bottles, he will place the four bottles at the bottom of the basket, two in compartment A and two in compartment C. The teats will be arranged in the compartment of the medium B. It will put 4.51 of water in the tank in which it will add a tablet of two grams of soluble disinfectant. The basket being completely inserted in the tank, the bottles will be just submerged. By hanging the basket by the notches 14, the bottles will be practically out of the water. Eight bottles will be arranged in the same way, in two layers and immersed in 9 1 of water added with two tablets, while twelve bottles will be arranged in three layers, as shown in fig. 4, and immersed in 13.51 of water supplemented with three tablets.
The lid ensures an airtight closure of the tank, which makes it possible to store and transport the bottles protected from any external contamination, whether these bottles are immersed in the sterilizing solution or that the solution has been discarded after sterilization.
The user thus has sterilized baby bottles at all times.
