Abstract
Clamping bracket for connection of plates has middle part and bent ends connected with bolt to form angled piece
Description

The invention relates to a clamp for connecting angled panels, in particular for the formation of lightweight walls for exhibitions, with the panels to be connected between clamped, made of rigid material jaws, which are pulled together by at least one screw with nut, the jaws are provided with inner surfaces running parallel to one another and to the outside of the panels to be connected.
In a known clamp for fastening plates, the inner surfaces of metallic jaw parts have a circular cylindrical shape and hold jaw parts made of elastic material. These elastic jaw parts have the shape of a roll slotted lengthways, the slot width roughly corresponding to the thickness of the plates used. This training should be made possible. that by turning the elastic jaw parts in the metallic jaw parts, the plates to be connected can be brought into the respectively desired angular position to one another. However, it has been shown. that the stability of walls that are produced using the known clamps is insufficient for many cases because the clamping force that can be transmitted via the elastic jaw parts is too low.
In a known clamp of the type mentioned at the outset, screw and nut are used to tighten the jaws, the screw head being provided with bearing surfaces at an angle of 900 to one another.
This means that the jaws can only be clamped tightly with the help of the nut, so that the outside of the two jaws must be accessible. However, if e.g. If panels converging in a corner of a room are connected to one another, this is not possible with the known device, or the connection must be made outside the corner, and only then can the panels be pushed into the corner.
The invention has set itself the goal. to create a bracket of the type mentioned. which does not have the disadvantages of the known brackets. This goal is achieved through this. that both jaws are angled twice in the same way, with the outer sections at an angle. which the panels to be connected enclose. stand to each other and engage the screw and nut in the middle part of the jaws. In the case of a clamp according to the invention, it is therefore possible to tighten the two jaws from both the outside and the inside.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. 1 shows the view of a known straight clamp and FIG. 2 shows the top view of this clamp. FIGS. 3 and 4 also show clamps according to the invention with different angular positions of the opposite jaws in top view.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, a currently known clamp consists of two plates 1 and 2 made of steel, which can be clamped in the middle by means of a screw 3 provided with an Allen head 4 and a nut 5. The end parts of the plates 1 and 2 form jaws 6 on both sides.
The jaws 6 on each side run parallel to one another and in the direction of the plates 7 to be connected. Elastic plates 8 are glued to the jaws 6.
If the jaws 6 are clamped against one another by means of the screw 3 after the plates 7 have been inserted, the clamping force is transmitted evenly over the entire surface of the respective jaws and the plates 7 are therefore clearly held.
In Fig. 3 a clamp according to the invention for connecting plates 7 extending at an angle to one another is shown, the two jaws of which are angled twice. The outer sections 9 are at an angle of 90 "to one another. The screw and the nut engage in the central part 90 of the jaws. The plates 7 are securely held in place even with such an angular position of the jaws and it is possible to either use the screw or the nut To fix the other part, for example, depressions for screws or nuts can be provided in a known manner.
4 shows a clip according to the invention, the outer sections 10 of which extend at an angle of approximately 135 to one another.
