avec un composé organique α
,P-non-saturé de formule
EMI0001.0003

Process for the preparation of heterocyclic compounds The subject of the present invention is a process for the preparation of heterocyclic compounds represented by the following formula, or its tautomeric equivalents
EMI0001.0001
by the reaction of a thiourazole of the following formula, or one of its tautomers
EMI0001.0002
with an organic compound α
, P-unsaturated formula
EMI0001.0003
In the above formulas, X is an oxygen atom, sulfur atom or an imino group, R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, such as a methyl, ethyl group , propyl, isopropyl, butyl or isobutyl, or an aryl group such as a phenyl group, RI and R., are each a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group (preferably containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms), R2 is a hydroxyl, amino alkoxy or alkyl group, preferably containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms.
The reaction can, for example, be carried out by suspending the thio-urazole in an aqueous medium, followed by the addition of the unsaturated compound.
Those of the addition compounds thus obtained which have a keto group can be reacted with hydroxylamines to form oximes, with hydrazines to form hydrazones, with semicarbazides to form semicarbazones or with thiosemicarbazides to form thiosemicarbazones.
Among the compounds of formula 1 thus obtained, those in which X is sulfur and R is hydrogen can be used for the reaction with a compound of general formula
EMI0001.0006
in which R4 and R5 have the same meanings as Ri and R., respectively and R, is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, leading to compounds of general formula
EMI0001.0011
The compounds of formula I and V above are very useful as additives for photographic compositions and they may be useful as corrosion inhibiting agents, as additives for fuels, as antioxidants and plasticizers of polymeric compositions.
The compounds are particularly useful in thermally stabilized silver halide emulsions for proof printing; they can be used, in particular, in silver halide emulsions having silver halide grains containing occluded polyvalent metal ions to improve the quality of the document, i.e. the quality of the document. image that can thus be obtained. The compounds are also useful as anti-fog agents in photographic silver halide development emulsions.
Although it is preferred to use the compounds obtained according to the invention as anti-fog agents by incorporating them directly into the photographic materials, the anti-fog agents could also be used by incorporating them into a photographic developer as long as the formation an image would still occur in the presence of anti-fog agents and still fulfill their anti-fog function.
Examples of the compounds of formulas I and V and their derivatives are the compounds listed below.
