Elastischer Dichtungsring
Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt des Ringes und
Elastic sealing ring
The invention relates to elastic sealing rings which are composed of different elastic materials. These sealing rings are in particular intended for sealing pipe joints of concrete, stoneware, cast, steel or asbestos cement pipes or the like, which are used to guide liquids of all kinds and are connected to one another via sleeves such as bell sleeves or pushed-on sleeves.
The sealing of pipe connections with sealing rings based on elastic plastics is known. On the one hand, they are common. Sealing rings made of full round strands with and without in the axis or zen cally arranged around the axis through cavities in round or elliptical shape and on the other hand sealing rings with cell structure, which can be made of elastomeric mixtures z. B. produces with the addition of blowing agents. Furthermore, sealing rings are known which are composed of two different hard materials together, for. B. from a section made of solid material and a second section made of cement material.
Voiirundstrangen without axial cavity have proven themselves for the sealing of pipe joints of very dimensionally stable pipes, i. H. in the case of pipe joints in which the gap to be sealed differs only slightly, so that a uniform compression of the sealing rings is achieved over the entire circumference. If, however, connections of pipes are to be sealed, the dimensions of which have greater tolerances due to the manufacturing process, such as B.
Vitrified clay pipes, Rütte.l- or Rütteipress pipes made of concrete, which are primarily used for sewer pipes, such round strands are not suitable, as the sealing rings are pressed to different degrees due to the different width of the socket gap and then in the area of the narrowest gap The resulting high restoring forces of the sealing ring result in bending tensile stresses on the bell jar or socket, which can lead to its destruction.
To seal such pipes, sealing rings have been used on the one hand from solid round strands with axially continuous cavities, on the other hand from round strands with a cell structure, which differ from the solid sealing rings described above in that their restoring force increases less sharply with increasing degree of compression, their spring characteristic so it runs flatter. The course of the spring characteristic naturally depends on the ratio of the diameter of the cavity to the wall thickness of the cord or the degree of flatulence.
In practice, pipelines are laid in the ground on a well-prepared substrate. So that the load-bearing capacity of the pipes is not impaired and the sealing material in the lower area at the support point is not deformed by the weight of the pipes and the load of the soil, the pipes are stuffed with sand or soil, and occasionally with concrete, after they have been laid. Since in practice there is not always the certainty that this work will be carried out carefully, it must be expected that the sealing material will be subject to some pressure in the support area when it is installed. The result is that the roling seal is not pressed sufficiently on all sides.
Sealing rings made from round strands with axially continuous cavities were found to be somewhat superior to those made from round strands with a cell structure, as they can naturally develop a greater load-bearing capacity, because after compensation of the cavity, the restoring force increases steeply with increasing compression in the characteristic known from solid sealing rings.
In the case of clay pipes and concrete pipes, certain irregularities such as pitting, hollow spaces, grain-like elevations etc. cannot be avoided on the surfaces to be sealed. In addition, vitrified clay pipes have a more or less well-developed grooving, which has the task of fixing the bituminous hot-sealing compound that was previously mostly used for sealing.
It has now been shown that sealing rings made of round strands with and without an axial cavity are not able to safely enclose or fill in these surface defects and thus render them harmless, so that leaks occurred even with a sufficient degree of compression. Sealing rings with a cell structure are able to do this, provided the cell structure extends to the outer surface of the sealing ring. This led to a preferred use of these sealing rings. > especially for sealing stoneware pipes.
However, these rings often do not have a sufficiently high load-bearing capacity, so that composite roller rings have been used in which the section that should be at the bottom in the pipe joint is made of stable solid material or harder graded material with a cell structure and the remaining part of material with a cell structure in the usually used hardness. The advantages of the well-sealed system of the Zelimaterfais (e.g.
foamed plastic) on the surfaces to be sealed only on part of the circumference of the seal ring. Even a known sealing ring made of solid material with a grooved surface cannot avoid the disadvantages of the known rings described.
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages of the known sealing rings.
It has been found that this object can be achieved in a particularly simple manner, which is unexpected and surprising for the person skilled in the art, in that the sealing ring has a core made of solid material and an outer shell made of material with a cell structure. As a result, the advantages of the known rings are combined with one another in a particularly expedient manner while avoiding the disadvantages described. The core of the rings with a relatively high restoring force provides the necessary load-bearing capacity, while the foam shell adapts to all surface unevenness and irregularities with a low restoring force and thus for a good seal even under extreme conditions.
cares.
The sealing rings produced in this way are preferably made of elastomeric composite material, the core being a solid round strand with or without an axial cavity or a cavity arranged around the axis and having a firmly supported shell made of material with a cell structure. This thickness is approximately equal to one and a half times the thickness of the surface irregularities of the pipes to be sealed, i.e. H. the outer soft shell is adapted to the expected irregularities of the surfaces to be sealed, while the diameter of the axially arranged cavity in the core is to be established in a known manner according to the maximum restoring force desired at maximum compression.
According to one embodiment, the core of the composite ring can be made from the following mixture:
137.5 parts of Stvrol butadiene rubber (oil-extended)
1.5 parts stearic acid
5 parts of zinc oxide
1.5 parts anti-aging agent PBN
45 parts HAF soot
4 parts plasticizer
3 parts of coumarone resin
1.4 parts of sulfur
2 parts vulkacite MOZ
0.6 parts Vulkacite Thiuram
The density of this mixture is approx. 1.1 g / cm5.
It is produced on mixing machines known in the rubber and plastics industry, such as internal mixers and rolling mills, and finally extruded on rubber screw presses to form round strands with and without an axial cavity and vulcanized in the known manner. The round strands produced in this way are now wrapped in the extrusion process with a similar mixture which, however, contains an additional known blowing agent in an amount such that a cell material with a density of about 0.65 g / cm8 is obtained.
In the drawing, two embodiments of the sealing ring produced according to the invention are shown, namely shows
Fig. 1 shows a cross section of the ring and
Fig. 2 is a similar cross section of a thicker ring having an axial cavity.
The sealing ring 1 according to FIG. 1 has a core 2 made of a circular round in cross section made of solid material. This core is surrounded with a shell 3 made of foamed or inflated Mate nal with a cell structure.
The sealing ring 4 according to FIG. 2 has a core 5 made of a solid round strand with an axial cavity 6 of circular cross-section. This core 5 is also surrounded by a shell 7 made of foamed or inflated material with a zeiistruk- structure.
A finished sealing ring with a cord thickness of 20 mm has, for example, a core with a diameter of 12 mm and a shell with a wall thickness of 4 mm. Another finished sealing ring with a cord thickness of 30mm has a core with a diameter of 20 mm, which contains an axial cavity with a diameter of 6 mm and is provided with an outer cover made of Zeilmaterial with a wall thickness of 5 mm.
