Container for holding liquids and / or gases under pressure
The invention relates to a container for holding pressurized liquids and / or gases, in particular a suction / pressure barrel, which is divided into chambers by at least one pivotable partition lying transversely to the longitudinal extension of the container. Containers of this type are known per se. They are used, for example, for cleaning and maintaining pipe and sewer systems by industrial or municipal companies as sludge extractors, the container either being arranged directly on the chassis of a truck or being pulled by a vehicle equipped with at least one axle.
Suction and pressure lines of a pump unit open into the interior of the container or into its individual chambers, with the help of which, depending on the respective desired work function (sucking in the sludge or squeezing it out) in the container, a vacuum or negative pressure is generated in relation to the external atmosphere. In order not only to be able to remove sludge from channels and pipelines with devices of this type, but also to be able to flush them, these containers are divided by partition walls, with one chamber serving to receive the sucked-off sludge and one to carry the pure rinsing water.
Since the acquisition and maintenance costs of a container of this type, including the associated pump and motor vehicle assembly, are not insignificant, the partition is usually designed so that it can be removed from the container in order to obtain a uniform transport space in this way. For this purpose, a circumferential flange is provided in the interior of the container, with which the partition, which is designed as a flange cover, is screwed. It is obvious that such a construction has many disadvantages. For example, the flange and the edge area of the partition must be ground flat so that the two chambers separated from one another are also tight.
Since there are considerable pressures in the container, the partition must be attached to the flange with numerous screws, all of which have to be loosened when removing the partition. Apart from that, the handling of the partition is not exactly easy due to its weight when inserting and removing it inside the container. The cleaning of one chamber is not easily possible either, since the flange forms an obstacle for the cleaning water flowing outwards, apart from the fact that the sludge and dirt that collects in the flange corner can only be removed using your own tools.
Furthermore, it has already become known to provide a transverse wall plate suspended pendulum-like on a horizontal axis to form a waste water compartment located at one end of the container. The dirty water seeps through a gap between this plate and the inner wall of the tank without sludge accumulation from a sludge chamber into a dirty water compartment. This transverse wall plate divides the collecting container only in its lower area. Two chambers are therefore formed, but when the water level is appropriate, there is a mutual overflow from one chamber into the other.
Another embodiment also provides a plate dividing the barrel into two chambers, which is, however, divided into two parts, the upper cross-sectional half of the barrel being divided by a sieve-like plate and a fully designed, further plate pivotably mounted on this sieve-like plate, but not leads to the bottom of the barrel so that the flowing sludge can move into the larger space. In this embodiment, too, it is not possible to have two completely separate chambers in one container.
The object of the present invention is to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned, which is achieved in that the intermediate wall is designed to correspond to the inner cross-section of the container with regard to its circumferential course and has a hose-like, rubber-elastic sealing ring on its circumference. Depending on the position of this partition, the container either has chambers that are separated from one another in a sealing manner or the container forms a single holding space.
For the sake of simplicity, the position of the partition wall perpendicular to the container axis is referred to below as the separation position, since in this position the container is divided into separate chambers: the partition wall pivoted 90 "from the position mentioned is in the connecting position If pressures prevail, the sealing of the chambers against one another on the circumference of the partition wall by means of the hose-like, rubber-elastic sealing ring is of particular advantage. This sealing ring is expediently designed to be inflatable and / or inflatable.
Since the inclination of the partition wall relative to the container axis is expediently adjustable from the outside and, apart from its two limit positions offset by 90 ", can be locked in at least one inclined position in between, the sealing ring only has to absorb those pressures that act directly on it, but not those forces which, due to the respective filling height of the chambers, tend to pivot the partition, since, as mentioned, the partition itself is locked from the outside.
So that the inflatable sealing ring can properly fulfill its function, the edge region of the intermediate wall designed as a flap for receiving the sealing ring is expediently designed as an open channel facing the inner wall of the container.
The inflated or inflated sealing ring lies in this channel and is supported against the inner wall of the container.
To illustrate the invention, it is explained with the aid of an exemplary embodiment, without thereby restricting it to this particular type of use. 1 shows a partially cut open sludge suction drum mounted on a motor vehicle, FIG. 2 shows a detail and FIG. 3 shows the flap in the direction of the arrow A in FIG. 1; FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
On the chassis 1 of the motor vehicle 2 lies the sludge suction drum 3, which extends in its longitudinal direction and consists essentially of a cylindrical drum which is closed on both sides by means of curved covers 4 and 5. The cover 5 is to be opened after loosening the only hinted screws 6. The pump unit is enclosed by the housing 7 and the suction respectively leading from this to the container 3. Pressure pipes are not shown for the sake of clarity. The container 3 is divided by the partition 8 into two chambers 9 and 10, one chamber, for example the chamber 10, serving to receive the sludge to be discharged and the chamber 9 to receive the rinsing water. These container spaces are connected to lines by means of the connection supports 11 and 12.
The partition 8 is pivotable about the axis 13 and designed as a flap, the diameter D of which is smaller than the inner diameter D 'of the container drum. The edge of this flap is widened compared to its wall thickness 14, namely this edge is designed as an open channel 16 facing the container inner wall 15. In this channel lies the rubber-elastic sealing hose 17, the inner hollow chamber 18 of which is led through the hollow axis 13 and through the pipe 19 welded to the flap to the outside of the pump unit, whereby a hose is expediently provided both in the axis 13 and in the pipe 19 ( Fig. 4). A manually operated valve provided in this hose system allows the chamber 18 of the sealing ring 17 either to be connected to the pump, the chamber 18 to be shut off or to be vented.
When operating with two chambers 9 and 10 (Fig. 1), the flap 8 is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the container and is secured against rotation from the outside.
The sealing ring 18 is tightly filled with air so that its elastic wall bears sealingly on the one hand against the container inner wall 15 and on the other hand in the channel 16. Since the flap 8 is mechanically secured against rotation from the outside, as mentioned, for example by a well-known ratchet lock, the action on the flap 8 is determined by the respective filling level in the container and the flap in the sense of a rotation about the axis 13 demanding torque taken up entirely by the locking mechanism, so that the seal 17 exclusively by the in the container respectively. pressure prevailing in the chamber 18 is claimed.
If, for example, the emptied container 3 is to be cleaned, the cover 5 is opened after loosening the screws 6 and the sealing ring 17 is vented by opening the multi-way valve, not shown.
When the air flows out, the hose-like sealing ring 17 collapses so that the flap 8 can now be pivoted after the adjustment mechanism has been released. Then the container 3 is injected. If the container 3 is again to be put into operation with its two chambers 9 and 10, the flap 8 is returned to its position shown in FIG. 1 and air is again pumped into the sealing ring 17 until it again rests against the walls in a sealing manner (Detail according to Fig. 2).
If the capacity of the container 3 is to be used in its entirety, the partition 8 is folded over or tilted in the manner already mentioned. The inclination serves as a baffle when transporting liquids, which slows down the rolling movement of the liquid, which is caused by the constantly changing acceleration.
Of course, the horizontal arrangement of the tilt axis is by no means mandatory for the invention. In principle, it would be possible to provide them in any other position, but in the embodiment described, not only can the locking mechanism be arranged in a simple and easy-to-use manner, the dampening of the rolling movement is also particularly favorable in this case.
The invention is also not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown, because it can in principle be provided in all those containers which are used to hold liquids and / or gases under pressure. Rather, it is essential and important that, according to the invention, the intermediate wall, which in terms of its circumferential area corresponds to the container cross-section, has a hose-like, rubber-elastic sealing ring on its circumference.
