Rotary machine The present invention relates to a rotary machine comprising a cylinder in which is mounted a rotary piston provided with at least one vane for sweeping a fluid.
Such a machine is capable of rotating under the action of a motor and makes it possible to suck and discharge a fluid which must be conveyed. It is therefore a rotary compressor, a vacuum cleaner, a fan, a vacuum pump or an ordinary pump.
These known machines have the drawbacks of rapid wear and fairly frequent replacement of certain moving parts and, moreover, their construction is relatively complicated and therefore their purchase price is appreciably high.
The present invention, which overcomes these drawbacks, is characterized by the fact that the rotary piston is mounted concentrically with respect to the cylinder.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, an embodiment of the present invention and a variant.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view thereof in partial section.
Fig. 2 is a section perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder of the machine shown in FIG. 1 .. Fig. 3 is a similar section of an alternative embodiment of the machine shown in FIG. 2. The machine comprises a cylinder 1, the outer side face of which is not necessarily cylindrical, but is suitable for its support or its application. Inside the cylinder 1 is mounted a piston 2 wedged on a shaft 3 connected to an engine which is not shown.
The piston 2 is thus rotating inside the cylinder 1. The common axis of the piston 1 and of the shaft 3 coincides with the axis of the cylindrical inner face of the cylinder 1.
The piston 2 carries a scavenging pallet 4 housed in a corresponding groove 5 provided in the cylindrical face of the piston 2. The pallet 4 is disposed radially with respect to the axis of the piston 2 and extends along the entire length of the latter. this. The edge of the pallet 4 which is located outside the groove 5 bears weakly against the internal face of the cylinder 1 or is located at a small distance from this face.
The machine is intended to convey a fluid, for example air which is sucked into the cylinder 1 by the rotary piston 2 through an inlet pipe 6 or 7 and which is discharged from the cylinder 1 by the rotary piston 2 through an 8 or 9 output duct.
The two inlet conduits 6 and 7 lead to a one-way valve 10, the body of which is formed by the cylinder 1 itself. This one-way valve puts the external environment in communication either with line 6 or with line 7.
The pipes 6 and 7 are closed towards the inside of the cylinder 1, by a tilting valve 11 mounted on a shaft 12. Depending on the extreme position of this pet valve 11, the latter blocks either the pipe 6 or the pipe 7.
The lines 8 and 9 lead to a one-way valve 13 which is outside the cylinder 1.
Valves 10 and 13 can be operated manually.
The tilting valve 11 is controlled from a cam 14 fixed on the shaft 3 and raising, respec tively lowering, a lever 15 fixed on its shaft 12. The height of the boss of the cam 14 corresponds to the pivot angle. or tilting of the valve 11 ensuring the smooth passage of the pallet 4 vis-à-vis said valve. The position of the boss of the cam 14 is such that the valve 11 rocks a little before, during and a little after the passage of said pallet 4 vis-à-vis the valve 11.
The machine shown can turn in both directions. In the case of the drawings, the direction of rotation of the piston 2 is indicated by the arrow X. The valve 10 allows the flow of air through the pipe 6 and the valve 11 normally closes the pipe 7 and leaves the air free. pipe 6. The air discharged by the pallet during its rotation leaves the cylinder through pipe 8, the valve 13 then closes the pipe 9. It is easy to understand the normal position of the valve 11 and that of the valves 10 and 13 when the piston 2 turns in the opposite direction to the arrow X.
In order to be able to properly position the pet valve 11 according to the direction of rotation of the machine, the rod 15 is slidably mounted in a tube 16 fixed to the shaft 12 of the valve 11. In addition, this rod 15 is provided with a boss formed of a flexible blade 17 attached to said rod 15. This blade 17 forms an inclined plane. When the cam 14 bears against the base of this inclined plane, the normal position of the valve 11 is such that it normally clogs the pipe 7, the machine rotating along the arrow X. When the cam 14 bears against the At the other end of said inclined plane, the valve 11 normally blocks the pipe 6, but the machine then turns in the direction opposite to the arrow X.
As a variant, the machine illustrated in fi-. 3 differs from the previous one in that on the one hand the two inlet pipes 6 and 7 coincide and on the other hand the tilting valve is replaced by two independent tilting shutters 18 and 19. One of these shutters, for example 18, remains open and constantly frees the passage of the pallet 4 when the piston 2 then turns counterclockwise. The other flap 19 is normally closed and is raised only a little before, during and a little after the passage of the pallet 4 vis-à-vis this flap 19 when the piston 2 turns in this direction.
By means of two machines of the type described, it is possible to produce a combustion engine. For this purpose, there is a combustion chamber provided with ignition means, between the two machines, one of them supplying the combustion chamber with air and fuel and the other functioning as receiving means of ignition. the energy of the burnt gases coming from the combustion chamber.
