Infinitely variable speed change transmission The invention relates to an infinitely variable speed change transmission. So far, continuously variable speed change transmissions with a pair of bevel gears which are in contact with a point of a ball from a set of balls and with an actuating means for changing the inclination of the ball axes of rotation are known. They have excellent properties with regard to the change in the output shaft speed within a large range, but not only have the disadvantage of constructional difficulties in the storage of the ball, but also that of an unfavorable pressure contact between the balls and the bevel gears.
In the case of the continuously variable speed change transmissions known up to now, the force to be transmitted is inevitably limited to a relatively small range.
An object of the invention is to overcome the difficulties mentioned before and to create a continuously variable speed change gearbox with favorable pressure contact conditions that can transmit a relatively large force.
Another object of the invention is to provide a continuously variable speed change gear of a relatively simple design and long life, which can be produced with relatively low manufacturing costs.
A continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention has a pair of wheels, one or more, the wheels each touching a point balls, one or more sets on a small circle on the spherical upper surface of each large ball running small balls, means for arranging and holding of the set of small balls on the small circle, and an actuator for changing the position of the means with respect to the wheels, each large ball being transmitted about an axis passing through the center of the small circle and its own center running,
and the radii of action of the large ball with respect to the wheels can be changed by the actuating device.
Details can be found in the following description. In the drawing, some embodiments of the invention are shown, for example, namely: Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention, Fig.2 also a longitudinal section through the continuously variable speed change gear according to Fig. 1, but the transmission is shown in the position that corresponds to a transmission ratio 1, Fig. 3 is a cross section along line III-III in Fig. 2,
4 shows the pressure contact conditions of the continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention compared with a conventional gear, FIG. 5 shows a longitudinal section through a continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention, which, with the exception of its tandem construction, is constructed similarly to the gear shown in FIG is
and FIG. 6 shows a longitudinal section through a further continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention, the rotation of the large balls being transmitted to the output shaft.
In FIG. 1, the box of the speed change gear is denoted by 1, the drive shaft by 2 and the output shaft by 3. The drive shaft 2 is rotatably supported in bearings 5, 5 'in a housing 4 provided on the box 1 and the output shaft 3 in bearings 7, 7' in a housing 6 arranged on the box 1.
A collar 9 is arranged on the drive shaft 2, and a bevel gear 10 is keyed onto its end by means of a spring wedge 11. The collar 9 on the drive shaft 2 is the side surface of the inner race of the bearing 5 'opposite, and between the collar 9 and the bevel gear 10 is a spring 12 for generating engagement pressures between the bevel gears 10 and several large balls 13 on. The output side is constructed similarly and has a collar 14, a bevel gear 15, a spring wedge 16 and a spring 17 in order to produce engagement pressures between the bevel gear 15 and the large balls 13.
Each large ball engages a set of small balls 18 on a small circle on its spherical surface and rotates during the power transmission around an axial line X-X which passes through its own center 0 and the center 0 'of the small circle. Each set of small Ku rules 18 for each large ball 13 is held on a raceway which is arranged on the concave part 21 of a gear wheel 20 engaging in a rack 19 segment. Each rack 19 for each tooth segment 20 engages in an axial groove provided on the common ring 24, to which it is also attached.
All toothed segments 20 are moved simultaneously in order to set the same phase position, specifically by means of an operating handle 22 which is attached to the ring 24 and penetrates a slot 23 provided in the box 1.
In the continuously variable speed change transmission explained above, the power is transmitted through the drive shaft 2, the bevel gear 10, the large balls 13, the bevel gear 15 and the output shaft 3. The generation of a grip pressure between the large balls 13 and the small balls 18 takes place through the interaction of the reaction force between the bevel gear 10 and the large balls 13 and a reaction force between the bevel gear 15 and the large Ku rules 13. During the power transmission, each large ball rotates about the axis XX.
And if the radius of action of the revolution of the bevel gear 10 is equal to the radius of action of the revolution of the bevel gear 15, then there is a rotational speed difference between the bevel gears 10, 15 proportional to R, -R2. R, and R2 are the distances from the axis X -X to the pressure point of the bevel gear 10 and 15, respectively.
5s In the state shown in Fig. 1, the rotational speed of the drive shaft 2 is reduced from the drive shaft 3, and in the state shown in Fig. 2 Darge the output shaft 3 rotates at the same speed as the drive shaft 2. The continuously variable speed change drive increases the speed of the output shaft 3 by adjusting the handle 22 from its position illustrated in Fig. 2 to the right and reduces the speed of the output shaft 3 by Ver provide the handle 22 from its position shown in Fig. 2 to the left.
A feature of the continuously variable speed change transmission described above is that the large balls 13 do not have a shaft, as well as a fairly simple design of the bearing mechanism. Another feature of the continuously variable speed change transmission BE is that the pressure contact conditions between tween the large balls 13 and the bevel gears 10, 15 are favorable.
If two cone shells Cl and C2 are assumed according to Fig. 4a and 4b, which contain areas of Hertzian pressure contact areas, then the following slip ratio s results:
EMI0002.0032
Here: r1 is the radius of action r, ", a" given on the cone surface C1, the maximum value of r1 r, ", i" the minimum value of r1 r2 the radius of action given on the cone surface C2 r2 the maximum value of r2 r2 </ B> nlin is the minimum value of r2.
The maximum amount of slip in the Hertzian pressure contact area is given with a value proportional to that mentioned above.
As far as is known, the conventional continuously variable speed change transmissions of this type take a form as shown in Figure 4b and Figure 4b ', and the following slip ratio s results:
EMI0002.0047
In this case a point at a maximum speed drives a point at a minimum speed, and vice versa. The slip ratio then assumes a very high value in comparison to the value in the case of a continuously variable speed change gear according to the invention, in which a point with a maximum speed drives a point with a maximum speed, and vice versa.
This means that the speed change transmission according to the invention can be made in a small size by increasing the contact pressures or that it can be made very durable by improving the contact pressure ratios. Furthermore, since the large balls 13 are not stored on any shaft in the speed change gearbox according to the invention, the circular path of the contact pressure points shifts gradually, and a small circle on the large ball, on which no contact pressure has been exerted before, is now included in the contact pressure . As a result, the large balls are not worn on a specific part.
The bevel gear 10 or the bevel gear 15 in the speed change transmission shown in Fig. 1 can be replaced by a disk wheel or a ball. Next can be used in the speed change gear between the ball set 18 and the large ball 13, a running member with a central opening.
The continuously variable speed change gear shown in FIG. 5 can be viewed as one in which two speed change gear units according to FIG. 1 are connected in series and installed in a common box. In this speed change gearbox, two speed change gear sets are operated by a common handle.
The transmission of power to the output shaft 39 takes place in this speed change gear through a bevel gear 32 on the drive shaft 31, large balls 33, bevel gear 34, an engagement device with balls and cams in a handle 35 to he witness the engagement pressures, a bevel gear 36, large balls 37 and a bevel gear 38. The features of this transmission are the same as those of the transmission shown in FIG.
If it is assumed that each unit is built with a speed regulation range of 1/3 to 3, then this speed change gearbox has a large speed regulation range from 1/3 to 9.
Fig. 6 shows another, continuously variable Ge speed change transmission according to the invention, which has a fixed bevel gear 40, a rotatable bevel gear 41 and a rotatable ring 42. A pin bolt 43 prevents the fixed bevel gear 40 from rotating.
The rotatable bevel gear 41 is keyed onto the drive shaft 44 by means of a spring wedge 45. The bevel gear 40 and the bevel gear 41 engage several large balls 46 and in order to generate suitable engagement pressures, springs 47 are inserted between the lower boundary surface of the recess 48 of the bevel gear 41 and a nut 49 screwed onto the end of the drive shaft 44.
Sets of small balls 50 and toothed segments 51 are similar to the speed change gear shown in Fig. 1 -provided, but the ring 42 that holds the rack 53 is not formed from fixed, but is axially movable via a keyway 55 with the output shaft 54 in Intervention. On its cylindrical circumferential surface, the ring 42 is provided with a groove 56, and a protruding,
on a control rod with screw thread angeord designated part 57 of a feed nut 58 engages in this groove 56 a. The speed is changed by turning a handle 60 attached to the control rod 59.
In the speed change transmission described above, power is transmitted to the output shaft 54 via the drive shaft 44, the wedge 45, the bevel gear 41, the large balls 46, the set of small balls 50, the toothed segment 51, the racks 53 and the rotatable ring 42. The mechanism of power transmission works like a differential gear, and the rotation of the large balls 46 about the axis line of the drive shaft 54 is transferred to this output shaft 54 over.
The output shaft 54 of the speed change transmission can be the drive shaft and then the drive shaft 44 can be the output shaft.
The outermost value for the rotational speed of the output shaft 54 can be seen from the following table. When the axis of rotation of the large balls 46 passes through the point of application Q large balls 46 through the point of application P between the bevel gear 40 and between the bevel gear 41 and 4s of the large ball 46 of the large ball 46 rotational speed 0 Practically the rotational speed of the so Output shaft not closed endlessly,
even if the axis X-X passes through the point P. It is advisable to provide means for limiting the stroke of the ring 42 in this speed transmission in order to avoid a position in which an excessively high pressure is generated for 5 seconds.
