Device for dielectric heating of impacts The present invention relates to a device for dielectric heating of materials, with at least one microwave generator and associated waveguide and a housing defining the working space.
This invention aims to provide an apparatus which is suitable for mass production.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that the housing base and the housing cover have identical shapes, at least with regard to the interior.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is then explained using figures.
1 shows a schematic rear view of a device for the dielectric heating of materials, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II through the device according to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a section through the waveguide along line III-III of the Fig. 2.
The device is equipped with a microwave generator 1, the antenna 2 of which protrudes into a hollow conductor 3. At the other end of the waveguide 3 there is a tuning plate 4 which can be actuated by means of a rotary magnet 5. The rotary magnet 5 is operatively connected to the anode circuit of the microwave generator 1 in a manner not shown.
The waveguide 3 is provided with a feed opening 6 through which the microwave energy between tween a serving as a feed plane rear wall 8 of a housing 7 and a transformation element 12 ge reached. The transition of the rear wall 8 into the side walls of the housing 7 takes place via bevels 9, which are designed as so-called soft reflection planes and have little frequency dependence when the microwave energy is reflected.
The housing 7 is provided with a housing bottom 10 and a housing cover 11, which have identical tables shapes. They can therefore be pressed with one and the same tool.
The transformation member 12 in the form of a plane with bent edges 14 is th by means of Stif 13 on the rear wall. 8 of the housing 7 attached.
Because microwave work rooms. must have much more precise tolerances in their dimensions than is normally the case with sheet metal housings, most parts have to be pressed, which entails high tool costs. It is therefore advantageous to make the various parts of the device such that they can be made with the same tool.
Nevertheless, the possibility must be offered to agree the whole system on the microwave generator, which with the help of the tuning plate 4 it follows.
As shown in FIG. 3, this is mounted on one side in the waveguide 3, with which, in contrast to the two-sided mounting, the formation of a short-circuit current is avoided. Instead of a tuning plate, for example, a semi-cylindrical displacement body can be installed.
It has proven to be advantageous to connect the tuning element 4 to the anode circuit of the microwave generator and to control it in such a way that when the anode current is large, the tuning plate is rotated in the direction of better adaptation, thus reducing the anode current. The tuning element is then rotated into its optimal position.
