Passenger car In a passenger car with an engine mounted in its rear, it is difficult to accommodate the luggage and divide the weight on both vehicle axles. The luggage is usually stored partly in the smaller space under the front hood and partly in the space behind the rear seats, inside the vehicle. However, this arrangement has the disadvantage that the luggage stored in the rear space is only accessible when the crew of the rear seats get out of the vehicle.
The present invention is intended to eliminate this disadvantage.
An example embodiment of the invention is shown schematically in the accompanying drawing, where FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the vehicle, FIG. 2 shows a horizontal section to FIG. 1 and FIG B> 3 illustrates a cross section through the luggage compartment.
The vehicle has a drive unit which has a motor a, by which the rear wheels b are driven. The water cooler c with fan t is attached to the side of the engine, as illustrated in FIG. This storage of the drive unit, in which the engine is pushed out behind the rear axle, makes it possible to gain a sufficiently large luggage space between the engine and the wall of the rear seats. Another advantage of this arrangement is that both rooms, d. h. the luggage compartment and the engine compartment, which are separated from one another by a wall f , are closed by a common cover e.
After opening this cover, the two spaces already mentioned are easily accessible from outside the vehicle. The cover e is preferably opened sideways and supported by a support p , as illustrated in FIG. 3. The opening the lid to the side is designed so that the driver does not have to stand on the road when the lid is opened. The wall f separating the luggage compartment and the engine compartment is provided with a seal g on its front side, so that when the lid is closed, both spaces are completely isolated from one another.
The front and rear seats are moved forward so that you can z. B. to the front seats through the gap between the cladding h of the front wheel and the rounded edge i ab the front seat. The legs of the handlebar and the passenger are housed in the space j between the cladding of the front wheels.
In the front part k of the body, which protrudes beyond the windshield 1 , the spare wheel m is mounted at an angle, and below it the fuel tank n, which is filled from the outside. Access to the spare wheel is possible from the front by opening a small cover o. The front part of the body is not provided with a hinged hood, as is the case with most of the bodywork series used so far, but is designed as a joint pressed piece with the fenders, possibly rigidly connected to them. As a result, significant stiffness of the front section of the self-supporting body is achieved as well as its cheap production and reduction in weight.
Through the described training of the driving tool, in addition to the already mentioned easy access to the luggage, a correct division of the total weight can be achieved on both axles. Furthermore, a very advantageous accommodation of the people sitting on the rear seats is possible, who are accommodated in this arrangement approximately in the longitudinal center, i.e. at the point of the smallest vibrations of the vehicle.
