polyvinyle). 75 kg
Plastifiants :
Dioctyl-phtalate..... 18, 5 kg
IW/40 de la CWH (ester
d'acide gras de polyglycols). 5 kg
Adipate d'octyle. 2, 5 kg
Stabilisants :
Dibutyl-dilaurate d'étain. 1 kg
Stéarate de cadmium.. 0, 5 kg
102, 5 kg
Colorants pour azurage :
Violet 300 Stantone au 1 /o. 17 g
Bleu Vulcafix > ) solide SD
Francolor à 1 /o. 8, 5 g Mélange antiacíinique :
Anthracène. 0, 5. /0
Glycophene NB (résine for
mo-cresolique).... 3 /0
charge antiactinique comprend avantageuse

Manufacturing process of a transparent screen with antiactinic action
and screen obtained by this process
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a transparent screen with antiactinic action by incorporating an antiactinic filler into a transparent, colorless plastic material and shaping the mixture into a screen, characterized in that the antactinic filler comprises at least one photo-resistant and colorless organic compound, containing several aromatic cyclic groups,
this compound exhibiting at least one absorption zone for ultraviolet radiations of wavelengths less than 400 millimicrons and having a boiling point higher than the temperature at which the mixture is shaped into a screen, this charge being in proportion insufficient to supersaturate the plastic material and being suitable, after solidification of the latter, to ensure, without crystallization or haze, practically total absorption of ultraviolet radiations of wavelengths less than 400 millimicrons for a screen thickness at less equal to 0.2 mm.
The proportion of the antiactinic load with respect to the plastic material varies in the opposite direction to the thickness of the screen to be obtained.
The examples below indicate embodiments of the process according to the invention:
First example: The constituents of the mixture are as follows
Resin:
Gobinyl Cl (chloride
polyvinyl). 75 kg
Plasticizers:
Dioctyl-phthalate ..... 18.5 kg
CWH IW / 40 (ester
fatty acid of polyglycols). 5 kg
Octyl adipate. 2, 5 kg
Stabilizers:
Tin dibutyl dilaurate. 1 kg
Cadmium stearate .. 0.5 kg
102.5 kg
Colorants for azure:
Violet 300 Stantone at 1 / o. 17 g
Vulcafix blue>) solid SD
Francolor at 1 / o. 8, 5 g Antacinic mixture:
Anthracene. 0, 5. / 0
Glycophene NB (resin for
mo-cresolique) .... 3/0
After mixing the constituents with Werner, it is cold kneaded.
Then, the gelation is carried out at a temperature of between 100 and 1400 C. After gelation, the assembly is calendered into sheets of thickness equal to 0.25 mm, the temperature of the calendering rolls being between 150 and 1700 C. The sheet obtained after calendering is sliced to finished dimensions and the sliced sheets are press-polished on both sides at a temperature of 1400 C, the dimensions of the polishing press bed determine those of the sliced sheets.
The antiactinic mixture could be introduced not into the Wenner but at the end of the cold mixing.
Second example: The constituents and the operating mode are the same as in the first example, except as regards the antiactinic mixture which comprises 0, 8 / o anthracene and 5 / o of formocresolic resin; the calendered sheet having a thickness of 0.15 mm.
Third example: The constituents and the operating mode are the same as in the case of the first example, except as regards the antiactinic mixture which comprises 0, 5 / o of anthracene, 3 / o of formalin resin
cresolic and 0.5 to 1 / o of a p-toluene-sul-
oxacyanine fonate.
In these three examples, the proportions of the compounds of the antiactinic mixture little
wind vary from 20 / o.
However, some of the organic compounds
most interesting because of their low
cost prices present discon areas
inuit6 in the absorption of ultra
purple and, on the other hand, some of these compo
sés undergo an alteration tending to give
birth to a veil or coloration under
prolonged exposure to ultra rays
purple.
In order to remedy these drawbacks, the
antiactinic load includes advantageous
ment at least two organic compounds of
above type, with absorption zones
complementary for ultra-violet rays
and reciprocally acting as sta agents
stabilizers against prolonged action
ultraviolet rays, at least one of said
compounds further possessing at least one
double bond of non-aromatic character.
For example, the antiactinic load will be
composed by a mixture of part of a
body containing the grouping:
EMI2.1
and which is colorless in solution in ethyl alcohol, and from 5 to 20 parts either of phenanthrene or of a substituted thereof, this mixture being used in a proportion of 2/0 to 5/0 of the material plastic with regard to phenanthrene or its substituted to obtain a finished film of thickness equal to 0, 2 mm.
In the above formula, RI and RS denote aliphatic residues such as al radicals. colic or hydroxyalkylic, X denotes an acid radical, the rings A and B constituting non-chromophoric groups, and being such that the compound is colorless in solution in ethyl alcohol and has a maximum absorption capacity for lower radiations at 400 millimicrons.
Preferably, the compound containing the aforesaid group is an oxacyanine salt whose benzene rings bear methyl or ethyl radicals as the only substituents, such as advantageously p-toluene-sulphonate of 3, 3 ', 5, 5 ', 6, 6'-hexamethyl-oxacyanine or 3, 3', 5, 6-tetramethyl-oxacyanine. The latter body exhibits almost complete transparency to the visible radiations of the solar spectrum, an almost complete absorption of ultraviolet radiations starting from 396 millimicrons with, however, a not insignificant zone of relative transparency being situated around 322 millimicrons.
It also exhibits blue fluorescence in daylight and under the action of ultraviolet radiation. The addition of phenanthrene or one of its substituted products to this product makes it possible to complete the absorption of ultraviolet radiations in the region of 320 millimicrons and at the same time to considerably reduce the deterioration of this product under the prolonged action. of sunlight.
The example below indicates an embodiment of the invention in which the antiactinic filler comprises two components exhibiting complementary absorption zones and reciprocally acting as stabilizing agents.
Fourth example: For the manufacture of an antiactinic film with a thickness of 0, 20 mm, is incorporated in the transparent synthetic plastic material to be used from 0, 15 to 0, 5/0 of p-toluene-sulfonate of 3, 3 ', 5, 6 tetramethyl-oxacyanine and from 2 to 5% of pheanthrene.
The optimum results are obtained for an antiactinic mixture comprising 0.25 / o of p-toluene-sulfonate of 3, 3 ', 5, 6-tetramethyl-oxacyanine and of 2 / o of phenanthrene to obtain a film of 0, 20mm thick.
These proportions may vary due in
pours the thickness adopted for the film.
It is understood that in the example above
yield other bodies containing the group
specified and the phenanthrene substitutes can respectively replace the bodies
indicated.
The screen obtained may be in the form of a sliced transparent sheet made in accordance with the aforementioned examples, framed by a translucent frame cut from a continuous translucent sheet and without polishing also obtained by the implementation of the present process, this translucent frame which can be tinted, for example white or cream.
The screens obtained by the implementation of the method described above are applicable, in particular, in the building industry for the production of flat, reinforced or curved panes and, in particular, of curved panes without reverberation power, in industry. protection of displays, in particular for making blinds, tents, awnings, or armored windows, in the chemical industry, in the fields of packaging in all its forms (cases, bags, boxes, etc.) , blinds with adjustable rigid or flexible slats, parasols, cultivation articles, such as glass for greenhouses, in the lighting industry,
in particular as a screen surrounding a light source such as a fluorescence tube, etc.
CLAIMS:
I. A method of manufacturing a transparent screen with antiactinic action by incorporating an antiactinic filler into a colorless transparent synthetic material and shaping the mixture into a screen, characterized in that the antactinic filler comprises at least one photoresist organic compound and colorless containing several aromatic cyclic groups,
