Coupling transformer There are known methods for overlaying audio-frequency signal voltages on power networks, in which the signal voltage is pressed onto the network by means of two magnetically coupled resonant circuits. An example of such a coupling with a parallel superimposition connection to the power network shows in a single-phase representation the principle diagram of FIG. I and II are the two with a z.
B. the inductivities of the oscillating circuits representing transformer 31 coupled oscillating circuits. R represents the generator-side impedance, ZN the grid impedance.
2 shows another such example in a single-phase representation, in which the signal voltage is also applied to the high-voltage network via two oscillating circuits coupled by the transformer M, with the coupling being carried out by means of a series connection to the high-voltage network.
Due to the technical and operational tasks that result from the magnetically coupled resonant circuits connected to a high-voltage network, the coupling M of winding 1 compared to winding 2 must generally be kept very small. The transformers required for this, in addition to the properties prescribed by the signal transmission, must also be designed for the properties of network operation. So in the two cases of the examples Fig. 1 and 2, the insulation for the mains voltage must be dimensioned. In the case of FIG. 2, the entire mains current flows essentially through the secondary winding 2 of the coupling transformer.
In all cases where magnetically coupled oscillating circuits are used to superimpose audio frequencies in power networks, special requirements must be placed on the coupling transformers required for this. It is clear that because of the loose coupling that is generally necessary here, such transformers differ significantly in structure from the type of construction of the usual transformers used in power networks.
The present invention relates to a coupling transformer which is preferably used for networks for audio-frequency superimposition purposes in power networks and which is characterized in that the primary and secondary coils are provided with an open iron core and are arranged coaxially next to one another and thus form an axial core coil pair.
An example of an embodiment of the coupling transformer in accordance with the invention is shown in FIG. 3. The figure shows in an axial section the two coils 1 and 2 with the associated open iron cores 3 and 4. It is particularly useful to have insulating cylinders 6 and 7 between each winding and the to be used with the associated iron core as insulating supports for the floor and roof end pieces 11 and 10.
To achieve the required creepage distance against the mains voltage between the two core coils, an insulating plate 12 with a sufficiently large diameter is inserted between the cylinders 6, 7. The distance between the two core coils can be changed ver by means of axially arranged insulating pieces 14 for the purpose of setting a certain coupling factor. With the help of an electrically insulated, axial screw bolt 13, the two core coil insulating cylinder pieces 6, 7 and the plate 12 are pressed together.
It is useful here to attach the coil insulating cylinder 6, 7 to the end insulating plates 11, 10 by means of flat rings 8 and 9, respectively.
FIG. 4 shows a coupling corresponding to that of FIG. 1, but in a three-phase representation. For the construction of a three-phase coupling transformer for an example application according to FIG. 4, it is expedient to use coupling transformer units in a manner similar to that described with reference to FIG. 3 in an exemplary construction according to FIG.
In this case, because of the mutual magnetic Streubeein influence of the three phases, it is particularly important to arrange the three axial core coil pairs in a triangular symmetry. The six core cylinder coils 1, 2 are preferably assembled with the help of three insulating plates 10, 11 and 12 and with the help of, for example, an axial bolt 13 to form the transformer. The insulation plates can easily be designed in such a way that the creepage distances required against the mains voltage can be achieved.
It has no influence on the essence of the invention whether the coupling transformers described are designed as air or oil transformers. As a result of the relatively large magnetic stray fields of the loosely coupled transformers described, it is advisable to use non-metallic oil containers for the oil version.
