Description

  

      Zusatzpatent    zum Hauptpatent Nr. 287870.    Verfahren     zur        Herstellung        eines        Küpenfarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem  wertvollen     Küpenfarbstoff    gelangt, wenn man    das     1,1'-4',1"-4",l."'-4"',1""-Pentanthrimid     der Formel

    mit. Aluminiumchlorid unter Zusatz eines     Me-          thylpyridins    der     Carbazolierung    unterwirft.  



  Der neue Farbstoff bildet ein dunkles Pul  ver, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure  mit braunschwarzer Farbe löst und Baum  wolle aus brauner     Küpe    in     eehten    grauen Tö  nen färbt.  



  Die     Carbazolierung    erfolgt beim - vorlie  genden Verfahren mittels eines     Methylpyri-          dins    wie     a-Picolin    oder des technischen     l,y-          Pieolingemisches.    Sie wird vorteilhaft bei  Temperaturen     durehgeführt,    die zwischen 120       tnid    l.80 , beispielsweise in der Höhe von 140   liegen. Je     naeli    Wahl des     Methylpyridins    und  der     Umsetzungstemperatur    können sich in  den Eigenschaften des erhaltenen Produktes  gewisse Unterschiede, z.

   B. hinsichtlich des  Farbtons der damit erzeugten     Küpenfärbun-          gen,    ergeben.  



  Die Aufarbeitung der Reaktionsgemische  kann in üblicher Weise erfolgen, z. B. indem  man den Reaktionsansatz nach dem Verdün  nen mit Wasser mit     Alkalihydroxyd    alkalisch  macht und durch Zusatz eines passenden Re  duktionsmittels, wie     Nariumhydrosulfit,    den    erhaltenen Farbstoff     verküpt    und hierauf  durch Oxydation, z. B. mittels Luft, abschei  det.  



  <I>Beispiel 1:</I>  50 Teile Aluminiumchlorid werden bei 20  bis 80  unter Rühren in 125 Teile     a-Picolin     eingetragen. Man erhitzt auf 100 bis 110  und  gibt dann 10 Teile       Pentanthrimid    zu. Innerhalb 40 Minuten wird  die Temperatur unter gleichzeitigem     Abdestil-          lieren    des überschüssigen     a-Picolins    auf 140   erhöht. Man lässt eine Stunde bei 140  rühren  und giesst das Reaktionsgemisch in 2000 Teile  Bis.

   Zur erhaltenen Suspension gibt man 300       Teile        30        %        ige        Natriumhydroxydlösung,        rührt     einige Zeit, saugt ab, wäscht neutral und  trocknet.  



  Die Herstellung des       1""-Pentanthrimides    ist im Hauptpatent be  schrieben.  



  <I>Beispiel 2:</I>  50 Teile Aluminiumchlorid werden bei 20  bis 80  unter Rühren in 80 Teile eines tech  nischen Gemisches von     ,B-    und     y-Picolin,    das      etwas     Dimethylpyridin    enthält, eingetragen.  Man erhitzt auf 100  und gibt dann 10 Teile       1,1'-4',1"-4",1"'-4"',1""-Pentanthrimid    zu.  Innerhalb 45 Minuten wird die Temperatur  auf     140     erhöht. Man lässt eine Stunde bei       140     rühren und giesst das Reaktionsgemisch  in 2000 Teile Eis. Es werden 300 Teile     30o/oige          Natriumhydroxydlösung    zugegeben und der    Farbstoff wird abgesaugt, neutral gewaschen  und getrocknet.
