Le tube 1 est pourvu intérieurement d'un buttoir annulaire 14 destiné à supporter l'or gane 10, et contre lequel presse, par l'inter médiaire d'une rondelle 15, l'une des extré mités d'un ressort 16 coaxial à, l'élément 1, dont. l'autre extrémité presse une rondelle 17; cette dernière prend appui contre 21n verrou 18 que porte le tube 1; ce verrou 18, de forme générale annulaire, est engagé sur la barre cylindrique 2 et, présente, d'une part., un te non 19 en prise dans une mortaise 21 de la paroi du tube 2 et, d'autre part, une poignée 20 susceptible d'être déplacée dans l'ouver- t.ure 13;
Adjustable length forestay. The present invention relates to a stay of adjustable length comprising two elements. telescopic interlocking, characterized in that the outer element carries, on the one hand, a lever for always driving in the same direction a drive member engaged with the inner element and ensuring the movement of the latter and., on the other hand, a lock cooperating with said member and preventing song. moving this. interior element in the opposite direction to the movement imparted to it by said lever.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the prop that is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation in section. The fi-. 2 is, a following sectional view. 1-1 from the end. 1.
The prop shown comprises two elements- 1. and 2 with telescopic interlocking; the outer element 1 in the form of a tube is provided at its lower end with a support plate 3 and at its upper end with a lever 4, pivotally mounted on a pin 5 which carries two flanges 6 and 7; these laterally border an opening 13 made in element 1.
The lever 4 has at one of its ends inities a recess 8 intended to come fully inside the tube 1 with a tenon 9 engaged with the element 2 consisting of a cylindrical bar; the tenon 9 is part of a drive member. 10 drilled with a cylindrical hole 11 in which the element 2 is engaged and can be clamped when the lever 4- is actuated in the direction of arrow 12.
The tube 1 is provided internally with an annular stopper 14 intended to support the or gane 10, and against which presses, through the intermediary of a washer 15, one of the ends of a spring 16 coaxial with , element 1, including. the other end presses a washer 17; the latter bears against 21n latch 18 that carries the tube 1; this latch 18, of generally annular shape, is engaged on the cylindrical bar 2 and, on the one hand, has a non-engaging te in a mortise 21 in the wall of the tube 2 and, on the other hand, a handle 20 capable of being moved in the opening 13;
the axis of the. handle 20 coincides with that of tenon 19 and constitutes an axis of symmetry of latch 18; . the latter is intended to immobilize the element. '? and to prevent it from moving in the direction of arrow 22 when, in particular, pressure is exerted on the support plate 23 with which the latter is provided.
A spring 24 coaxial with the element 2 presses by means of washers 25 and 26, on the one hand, against the member 10 and, on the other hand, against the upper end of the tube 1; this spring 24 ensures the displacement of the organ 10 in the direction of arrow 22 after it has been actuated by the lever 4.
The plate "3 being placed on a fixed support to adjust the height of the plate 23, the procedure is as follows: The lever 4 is actuated alternately in the direction of arrow 12 and in the opposite direction, which results in move the rod 2 in the opposite direction to the arrow 22; in fact, the lever 4 at the start of each movement in the direction of the arrow 12 forces the member 10 against the bar 2 then drives the latter in the opposite direction of the arrow 22 during the remainder of this movement; the latch 18 prevents the movement of the bar 2 in the direction of the arrow 22, because due to the pressure exerted by the spring 16, it is forced against the bar 2.
When it comes to moving the bar 2 in the direction of arrow 22, it suffices to lift the handle 20 of the latch 18 in the direction of the arrow 27.
