wenn als Gleichspannung eine solche von -150 Volt vorausbesetzt wird. In diesem Zustand fliesst somit nur ein Strom, von der Kathode Cal nach der Anode Anal, und;

current source and one of the voltages generated in relation to this signal source, the electrode voltage of the tube is temporarily brought to a value below the extinction point, the time constant of the expansion circuit being selected sufficiently large to ensure complete deionization - around the tube and to ensure the actuation of a signaling device controlled by it.
In one embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, the signal receiver has two transformers, to whose primary windings the signal and supply current sources are connected and each of which has two secondary windings, each of which has secondary windings of the one transformer in series is connected to a secondary winding of the learning transformer that, if:
, the current sources connected to the primary winding have such a relationship to one another that the signal receiver should respond, and the resulting voltage at the terminals of each secondary balance pair is at least approximately zero.
The invention enables a verb-es-ser to be achieved with the signal receivers that have become known to date. Previously known signal receivers have the following features: a) In order to be able to work with the low AC voltages required in certain telecommunications systems to prevent mutual interference between adjacent circuits, an amplifier tube was required in the signal receivers.
This amplifier was necessary because the arrangement with a gas discharge tube working with a cold cathode and a dry rectifier bridge for the purpose of exercising the control effect as a result of the current consumption in the rectifier bridge and the assigned load resistance allowed the AC power sources to have a fairly high output. langte_As an amplifier tube, a heated tube had to be used,
which continuously required a heating current during the operating state. In addition, certain tubes of this type require a certain amount of time to set the tube into the working state, if the circuit is designed so that the heating current is only switched on during the time periods during which the signal receiver has to work, so that arrangements are created had to
to switch on the heating current beforehand, which was difficult to achieve in certain cases.
On the other hand, there is an advantage in providing a signal receiver which can respond to low voltage signals without the use of a heated tube.
b) The known signal receivers had a transformer of the type of a balanced differential transformer. The manufacturing accuracy of such transformers was high, so that the costs were also high. A signal receiver that can use simpler transformers is therefore more advantageous.
c) Difficulties have also arisen through the use of heated tubes, in that the heated tube was overloaded when receiving strong current waves from one of the two reporting channels or for other reasons, and even if the received currents were from different sources.
did not allow alternating current through, so that alternating voltages were applied to their grid, which is why the recipient responded incorrectly.
The invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows an arrangement which has become known from the patent mentioned and the FIGS. 2 an exemplary embodiment according to the invention.
In order to illustrate the operation of the new signal receiver more clearly, a brief description of the known arrangement will first be given with reference to FIG. 1.
In Fig. 1, f represents a signal conductor, one end of which by means of signal transmission contacts e1 to c12 signals after a. Signal receiver R transmitted who can who is connected to the other end of the signal conductor.
Each signaling = contact cl to c'12 is connected to one of the alternating current sources Ssl to 8s12, which differ from one another either by their voltage, frequency or phase angle.
The signal receiver contains a differentiating device Cc, one side of which is connected to the signal conductor f, while a so-called reference current source is connected to the other end, for example via a switch via which one of the different reference current sources Scl, Se? until Sc12 can be connected.
These reference power sources also differ in at least one of their electrical ones. Parameters from one another, on the other hand, their properties correspond to one of the signal current sources Ssl to S'812.
The distinguishing device Ce serves to compare two current sources connected to it, so that if at any moment the connected signal current source in a11 corresponds to its electrical properties with those of the reference current source which is connected at the same time,
the signal receiver R responds and causes a signal relay SR to respond. If, for example, the reference current Scl is switched on, then the signal receiver only responds when the signal fork @ ontakt cl is closed, so that the signal current source S'sl is connected.
It can be seen that for the sources Ssl to 8s12 and Scl. and S'e12 the same current sources can be used if the distance between the switch to which the reference current sources are connected and the contacts c1 to c12 allows this.
For example, twelve current sources of the same frequency and voltage can be used for this purpose, but they differ from one another in that their phases differ from one another by a multiple of 30. This enables twelve different signals to be output via one and the same signal conductor.
This number of signals can easily be increased by that a second power source set is used, whose; Current sources themselves have the same frequency and voltage, but are again phase-shifted by a multiple of 30 from one another, but the first set of current sources, for example a voltage of two volts, the other ever-- one of three volts. There are, of course, many other solutions for obtaining various signals.
In the arrangement according to the invention according to FIG. 2, the signal current source is z. B. connected to the Primäiivicklung 1 of the transformer Trl, while the reference power source is connected to the primary winding of the transformer Tr2.
Each of these two transformers has two seliiiiidärwicl @ lungen, which are connected to each other so that when the same alternating current source is connected to the two transformers Tr1 and Tr2, the direction of the voltage induced in the winding 2 that in the winding 6 induced voltage is opposite, and further that in the same way the voltages in windings 3 and 5 counteract each other,
so that in such a case the total voltage of each secondary winding pair is zero. As can be seen from Fig. 2, one side of the windings 2 and 5 is with.
connected to a direct current source and one side of the windings 3 and 6 via the resistors Rel and .Pe2 each with the two cathodes Cal and Ca.2 of a tube T1 working with a cold cathode. It can be seen that if the same alternating current sources are connected to the windings 1 and 4, there is no voltage difference between the cathodes, but that they carry the battery voltage at the electrodes, namely - 150 volts.
It should now be assumed that in order to prepare the signal receiver to respond to a signal, a reference current source is connected to the primary winding of one of the two transformers Trl and T72. The voltage induced in windings 2 and 3 or 5 and 6 is applied to cathodes Cal and Ca.2. The direction of these voltages is such that if Cal becomes more positive, Cal becomes more negative and vice versa.
The ratio between the number of turns of the primary winding and each of the secondary windings in the transformers Trl and Tr2 is so high that the voltage applied to the two cathodes Cal and Cal is high enough to cause the discharge between them bring about both electrodes, which also causes a discharge between one of these electrodes and the anode anal,
which is connected to earth via a resistor Re3.
The combined effect of the existing DC voltage source and the AC voltage source has the following effect in the cathode circuits: It should be assumed for a moment that there is no AC voltage between the two cathodes.
In this case, there is no discharge to the anode from any of the cathodes, since the voltage on the discharge paths between the anode and the cathodes is not sufficient to initiate the discharge. From the moment when AC voltages of sufficient magnitude reach the cathodes . are applied, a discharge is triggered between the two cathodes, and this on the one hand causes discharges between. one. the cathode and the anode.
During the half-wave of the alternating current, in which the cathode Cal becomes more negative and the cathode Ca2 more positive, only flows in. Current from the cathode Cal to the anode, since this cathode has the highest voltage compared to the anode. During the half-cycle of the alternating current, in which the cathode Cal is more negative and the cathode Cal more positive, only one current flows from the cathode Cal to the anode. A pulsating direct current thus flows through the resistor Re3.
This resistance is in the secondary sense of a capacitor C, which is charged to a voltage that can be determined as follows: It is assumed for a moment that the alternating voltage has reached the peak value. In this case, the voltage between the two cathodes Cal and Cal is not equal to this peak value, but rather equal to the value sufficient to maintain the discharge between the two cathodes. It is also assumed that this latter voltage is equal to 60 volts.
If now z. For example, if the peak value is 110 volts, then the difference between the Soheitel value and the voltage of 60 volts is evenly distributed between the two resistors Rel and Reg, so that the voltage at the cathode Cal at this example is increased by 30 volts with respect to the previous voltage of -150 volts, while that at the cathode Cal is reduced by 30 volts. These cathodes have voltages of -180 and -l20 volts against earth,
if a DC voltage of -150 volts is assumed. In this state, only one current flows from the cathode Cal to the anode Anal, and;
the voltage on the latter is increased by an amount that depends on four factors, namely the voltage value of the direct current source, the value of the resistance Bel, the value of the voltage required to maintain the discharge between Cal and Anl and the value of the Resistance Re3. It can be assumed that the value of the resistor Re3 is very high compared to that of the resistor Rel,
in which case the voltage at the anode practically rises to the value of -180 volts, reduced by the value required to maintain the discharge between Cal and Anl. If the latter voltage is assumed to be 75 volts, it follows that the anode voltage increases from zero to -105 volts.
The capacitor C is charged to this voltage, the capacitance of this capacitor being so. is chosen so that its voltage drops only slightly between two successive peak values, so that the anode Anal practically carries a voltage of -105 volts as long as AC voltages are supplied to the cathodes of the tube TI.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, there is a second tube T2 operating with a cold cathode, the control electrode Ce2 of which is connected to the anode Aul of the tube T1. During the state described above, the control electrode also carries a voltage of -105 volts.
Under these circumstances, the tube is kept in the erased state, since the voltage between the control electrode Ce2 and the cathode Ca3 is not sufficient to cover the control path between these two electrodes. To bring ignition.
Let it be assumed that at the same time as the reference energy source, a signal current source is connected to the other transformer of the receiver.
If these two current sources are not identical, the result is that the voltages in the secondary circuits?, 3, 5 and_ 6 do not completely cancel each other out, so that the two cathodes Cal and Ccc2 of the tube 11 carry alternating voltage.
The characteristics of the various alternating current sources are chosen so that in each case, when two different current sources are connected to the signal receiver at the same time, the resulting voltage at the cathodes Cal and Ccz remains high enough to ignite the tube and keep it in the state of discharge, so that no change occurs in the state described above.
Be it. It is now assumed that the two connected power sources are the same in terms of their electrical characteristics. In this fold is between the two Katho den Cal and Ca? there is no longer a voltage difference, and the two cathodes are again at -150 volts.
In this state, the tube 1 extinguishes the voltage between the two cathodes and the anode, which is kept at -105 volts by the capacitor C, in order to maintain a discharge in this tube is no longer sufficient. The capacitor C is slowly discharged through the resistor 1e3, and the voltage in the anode therefore gradually falls from -105 volts to the earth potential.
This decrease in spawning can be delayed by a suitable choice of the values of C and 1e3, o since the tube T1 has meanwhile been completely deionized. As soon as this: is the case, the voltage of -150 volts that occurs again between the cathodes and the anode is no longer sufficient to cause a discharge.
The lowering of the voltage "in the capacitor C also changes the voltage at the control electrode Ce2 of the tube T?, So that the voltage between this electrode and the cathode Ca3 increases.
As soon as it reaches the value of the ignition voltage of the control path of the tube T2, this tube is ionized and a current flows between the cathode Craä and the anode Aue, the signal relay SR to earth. This relay therefore responds.
The time required for the complete process of extinguishing the tube TI and the ionization of the tube T2 depends largely on the values of the various Sirom circle elements. With a suitable choice of these components, it is possible for the signaling rela.is to work very quickly.
In a practical embodiment in which alternating currents of 450 Hz were used, the relay SR operated within a period of 0.8 to 1.5 milliseconds after the moment when the two current sources became equal.
From the foregoing it can be seen that the disadvantages associated with previous signal receivers: are not present in the described Sig naleinpfänger.
The invention is of course not limited to the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 be. For example, instead of a three-electrode tube TI, two two-electrode tubes or even only a single two-electrode tube can be used if only one half-wave is used instead of the two half-waves of the alternating voltage. Furthermore, instead of the transformer shown, a transformer from Switzerland.
