Description
Impact drill for rock drilling. The subject of the present invention is a. Soiag drill for rock drilling, which is characterized according to the invention in that it has at least one cutting edge. which runs in one plane and is curved more outward in its middle part than its outer parts, for the purpose of achieving good guidance of the drill.
Appropriately two mutually parallel running cutting edges are provided.
Compared to the known hammer drills with straight cutting edges, the hammer drill according to the invention has the advantage of better centering. There are circular drill holes and a considerable increase in drilling performance. Since the cutting edge runs in one plane, the manufacture of the drill is relatively simple, and it is easy to regrind.
An embodiment of the subject invention. is shown on the accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 shows the drill in elevation, Fig. 2 in side elevation and Fig. 3 in plan view.
The drill body 1, which can be placed on a drill rod 2 or forged in one piece with the latter, -: eist two cutting edges 3 and 4, which each run in a plane parallel to each other and in their central part 5 stronger from downward,. are curved than their outer parts 6. These could also run straight, as indicated by dash-dotted lines at 7.
& is a bore for supplying flushing water or flushing air to the drilling site, which emerges through opening 9.
The cutting edges can be made of the same material as the drill body 1, but they can also be made of hard metal inserts.
