Hermetically sealed absorption chiller. The invention relates to a metisäh closed Ab eorptionskälteappa- rat which has a rust preventive. The invention consists in that the anti-rust agent is soluble in both the absorption solution and the liquid refrigerant.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei is shown game of the subject invention. Since the invention is of particular value in absorption refrigerators in which the evaporator is defrosted by hot absorption solution, an embodiment of this type is shown. The apparatus shown works with ammonia as the refrigerant, water as the absorbent and hydrogen as the pressure-equalizing gas. The heating tube of the apparatus, which is heated as desired, is denoted by 10 in the drawing.
From the tubular cooker 11, which is connected to the heating pipe in a thermally conductive manner, warm solution runs due to its own gravity via the liquid temperature changer 22 and line 36 to the absorber coil 19, in which the solution accumulates and trickles down to the collecting tank 210. From there the rich solution passes back to the cooker 11 via the temperature changer 22 and the gas bubble pump 30.
The vapors expelled in the cooker rise to the water separator 13 and the condenser 14, from which the condensate runs to the evaporator 1.7. There, the refrigerant evaporates in a known manner into the auxiliary gas, which circulates between the evaporator coil 17 and the absorber coil 19 via the guest temperature changer 18. In the apparatus, the usual pressure vessel 21, which switches off pressure fluctuations, is also connected to the gas circuit via lines 25 and 24.
The apparatus is also equipped with a defrosting device. It essentially consists of a thermal siphon pump 40 which can convey hot, poor digester solution in a line 60 leading to the evaporator 17, the hot conveyed solution melting off any ice as it trickles through the evaporator coil.
A special heat transfer system 43 is provided in order to set the thermosiphon pump 23 in motion. It is connected with its lower part via a welded joint 42 with the heating tube 10 and contains a heat transfer medium with a high boiling point and an additional medium with a lower boiling point. The heat transfer medium is evaporated in the lower part 41 of the system and condensed in a container 46 in which the condensate collects.
The vapors of this transfer medium transfer heat to the thermosiphon pump 40, which starts running and allows the evaporator 17 to defrost. If the heat transfer system has been in operation for some time, it boils empty because all the transfer medium is collected in the condenser 46. This is connected to the transmission system 41, 43 via an elastically flexible element 44, so that by raising the capacitor 46, defrosting can be started at any time.
So far, alkali chromates have been used as rust inhibitors in absorption refrigerators. If, however, such chromates are used in apparatus with defrosting pumps of the type described above, then in the evaporator, in which a highly concentrated solution is formed during defrosting due to the mixture of the absorbed solution and the condensate flowing further from the condenser, a a certain amount of chromate salt from the absorption solution.
This is because the solution which is formed, which is very rich in refrigerant, can no longer hold the generally usual amount of chroma in solution. The salts which precipitate are then lost to the circulating solution.
This is undesirable because the service life of hermetically sealed absorption refrigerators only depends on the duration of the protection against red. A reduction in the rust protection. as a result of the anti-rust agent crystallizing out in the evaporator. undesirable.
However, chromium salts can also be deposited at other points in the apparatus that are flushed with absorption solution, so that the invention is not restricted to apparatuses with the defrosting device shown.
The use of the previously customary chromate salts also has the disadvantage that the decomposition products of the customary alkali chromate salts are not soluble in the circulating operating medium. Therefore, if they occur in large quantities, they can lead to blockages in the apparatus. In order to avoid this: only small amounts of the rust protection agent could be added, which in turn must reduce the service life of the apparatus.
It is therefore used in the 'herme table closed absorption chiller: arat as a rust inhibitor, a substance that is soluble in both the absorbent and the liquid refrigerant. For this purpose, the alkali nitrites already beaten for other rust protection purposes are particularly suitable.
Since these agents are soluble in both the absorbent and the refrigerant, the rust preventive does not crystallize in the evaporator or in other parts of the apparatus. When the rust preventive decomposes, there is also the advantage that the alkali nitrites, in addition to gaseous products, form alkali hydroxide, which is easily soluble in the absorption solution.
When using these protective substances, the risk that the decomposition products could lead to blockages in the apparatus no longer needs to be taken into account. So you can introduce any amount of rust inhibitor into the apparatus. In general, a concentration of 1-3% in the absorption solution should be sufficient. However, higher concentrations of the protective substances can also be used. In order to slow down the breakdown of the nitrite, small amounts of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) are advantageously added to the absorption solution. The sodium hydroxide content can e.g. B. 0.1-l% amount.
In order to passivate the iron parts of the apparatus, very small amounts of a chromate can also be added to the solution. The content of Chromort can e.g. B. 0.05%. However, the desired passivation of the iron is expediently achieved by rinsing the apparatus with a solution of a chromate salt, for example sodium chromate, before filling it with the rust agent.
