Additional patent to main patent no. 243333. Process for the production of a metallizable polyazo dye. The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a metallizable polyazo dye. The process is characterized in that 1-amino-8-oxynaphthalene-3,
6-disulfonic acid first in acidic and then in alkaline solution coupled with 2-nitro-5-amino-benzoic acid, each diazotized once,
after reduction of the nitro groups, the diamino-disazo dye obtained is tetrazotized and coupled on both sides with the honoazo dye obtained by acidic coupling of diazotized 5-nitro-2-aminobenzoic acid with 2-amino-5-oxy-naphthalene-7-sulfonic acid .
The new hexakisazo dye forms a dark powder that dissolves in water with a violet-gray color, and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a reddish-gray color. It dyes cellulose fibers in reddish gray tones. The shade is changed only insignificantly when copying is applied to the fiber, while the fastness properties are considerably improved.
Example: 18.2 parts of 2-nitro-5-aminobenzoic acid are diazated in the usual way and in a mineral acid medium with 31.9 parts of 1 amino-8-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid (r -p-Pelt. It is made alkaline with excess soda and the resulting mono, azo dye is combined with one of 18.2 parts of 5-nitro-2-aminobenzoic acid, 6
9 parts of sodium nitrite and the necessary amount of hydrochloric acid produced diazonium solution. The finished disazo dye separates out in bronzing crystals. It is filtered off; dissolved in the necessary amount of water and redu ed at 35 with 23.4 parts of sodium sulfide.
The di-amino-disazo dye deposited with hydrochloric acid is dissolved in soda solution, the sulfur formed is filtered off, mixed with 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite and added dropwise to excess dilute hydrochloric acid. The formation of the tetrazo compound has ended after a few hours.
They are combined with 86.4 parts of the monoazo dye obtained by acidic coupling of diazotized 5-nitro-2-aminobenzoic acid with 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid in the presence of 80 parts of soda. After some time, the coupling is complete and the hexakisazo dye is deposited. It is filtered off, washed ge with dilute brine and dried.
