Speed regulator device for music box. The present invention relates to a speed regulator device for a music box, which is characterized in that it comprises a cylindrical inner wall chamber, in which is disposed a rotating gear driven by means of a multiplier gear train, from:
of the mainspring of the music box, this assembly comprising a shaft arranged in the chamber, coaxially with the latter and integral with a support on which are mounted to rotate around pivots eccentric with respect to said shaft, at least two masses each having a shoe rubbing against the cylindrical inner wall of the chamber, under the action of centrifugal force, when the effect of this force exceeds the restoring force of an elastic member constantly acting on each of these masses ., to move its shoe away from said wall.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of Qxemp-le, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fi-. 1 is a side view of the casing of a music box comprising said embodiment of the regulating device.
Fig. 2 is a partial view, on a larger scale, showing the device seen in axial direction.
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view corresponding to FIG. 2.
In the drawing there is shown at 1 the cup-shaped casing of a mu sic box. On the outer part of its lateral surface, this casing has a projecting part 2, inside: which is practi c a chamber 3 with a cylindrical inner wall 4. In this chamber is arranged a rotating assembly carried by a shaft 5 passing through the wall of the casing 1 and which is driven by means of a multiplier gear train 15 from the mainspring, not shown, of the music box. .
As is known,: this spring drags the actuating drum of the vibrating blades. It is this drum itself which acts on the multiplier gear train 15. This train is disposed inside the casing 1. The end of the shaft 5 is disposed in the chamber 3 coaxially. with the latter and this end is integral with: a support ô consisting of two diametrically opposed radial arms. At the free end of each of these arms are rotatably mounted two masses 7, 8.
The pivots 9: of these masses are therefore eccentric with respect to the shaft 5; they are located in the immediate vicinity of the cylindrical wall 4 of the chamber 3. These masses 7, 8 are each formed, as can be seen in FIG. 2, by an elongated piece: arched in shape, including. the pivot point is at one of its ends and which has, at its opposite end, a part 10, 11 respectively, forming a weight.
The masses 7 and 8 have, in the immediate vicinity of their pivot point, a shoe 12, respectively 13, rubbing against the cylindrical inner wall 4 of the chamber 3 under the action of the centrifugal force exerted on the masses 7 and 8, due to the rotation of the mobile assembly, in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 2,
when the effect of this centrifugal force exceeds the return force of a tension spring 14 acting constantly on each of these masses to move its shoe away from said wall. The spring -de rap pel 14 is connected at its two ends respec tively to masses 7 and 8, as seen in FIG. 2.
The adjustment of the spring and the sizing of the moving assembly are provided so that the braking exerted by the shoes 12, 13 precisely limits the speed of rotation of the shaft 5 to the desired value corresponding to the normal speed of rotation - of the drum, not shown, acting on the vibrating blades of the mu sic box. The construction shown gives a speed regulator device extremely simple and very safe to operate.
In a variant, more than two masses such as masses 7 and 8 could be provided.
