Additional patent to main patent no. 231752. Holzspaltmasehf ne. The main patent relates to a log splitter that is used to split relatively large pieces of wood and is characterized in that the stroke of the splitting ax is variable within a maximum stroke, for the purpose of being able to adapt it to the requirements of the wood to be split.
In the main patent. using the machine described on the basis of the drawing, the lifting movement of the ax takes place via a Ge threaded spindle.
The drive of the ax via a threaded spindle has the disadvantage that the threaded spindle and threaded nut wear out relatively quickly and that jams easily follow, which make it difficult to switch the ax movement.
The present invention aims to overcome these disadvantages. It consists in moving the ax with the help of hydraulic means. This ax drive has. compared to that by means of a spindle, the advantage that no jamming can occur and that the wear and tear of the drive parts can be very little, especially when 01 is used as the pressure medium, whereby the moving parts are permanently well lubricated.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject of the invention is illustrated; It shows: Fig. 1 a mobile log splitting machine in view, Fig. 2 the same in plan view, Fig. 3 is a section through the pressure cylinder with piston and its control organs.
On the frame box 1 wheels 2 are ge superimposed, which can be clamped by brake pads 3 by means of a crank 4. At the front end of the frame box 1, the steering wheel G is arranged on a pivot bearing 5. On the frame box 1, a support table 7 and an abutment 8 is arranged, which serves as a system for each piece of wood to be split. On the frame box 1, the pressure cylinder 9 is attached, in wel = Ehern the piston 10 runs, on the Kol rod 11, the split ax 12 is attached.
The pressure medium used is advantageously 01, which is fed into the pressure cylinder 9 by the pump 13, which is driven by the electric motor 14. The control of the pressure fluid for moving the piston 10 is done by the control slide 15 (Fig. 3), which sits in the control cylinder 22, wel cher in the frame box 1 is housed. The control slide 15 can be moved by the pedal 16 or the hand lever 17 against spring pressure. The pedal 16 and the hand lever 17 are fastened on the axle 18 which is mounted in the gesture box 1. On the axis 18, the lever 19 is fastened, which actuates the control slide 15.
The hydraulic fluid comes from the pump 13, the suction pipe 13 'dips into the oil box 20, via the pipe 21 into the control cylinder 22. In the position shown of the control slide 15, which position was brought about by actuating the pedal 16 or the hand lever 17 , the pistons 15a, 15b are in such a way that the pressure fluid passes from the tube 21 via the tube 23 into the pressure cylinder 9 in front of the piston 10 and pushes its piston rod 11 out of the pressure cylinder 9. The 01 located behind the piston 10 can flow back through the tube 24 and the hole 25 of the Steuerzylin 22 into the oil box.
If the pedal 16 respectively. let go of the hand lever 17, the control slide 15 is moved to the right by the spring 17 until the piston 15a covers the mouth of the tube 21 and the piston 15e covers the opening 25; then the supply of the pressure oil to the pressure cylinder 9 is stopped so that the piston 10 and with it the ax 12 come to a standstill. The 01 then flows in the circuit through the bore of the piston 15a and the connecting rod behind the piston 15b and through the hole 26 back into the oil box.
When the control slide is moved further to the right by the spring 27, the piston 15e reaches the right-hand side of the outflow 25 (FIG. 3), so this is still switched off, the piston 15a is the inflow free from pipe 21 and the piston 15b opens the outlet 26. The pressurized oil now flows out of the pipe 21 via the pipe 24 behind the piston 10 and pushes it back into its starting position. The oil located in front of the piston 10 can flow back into the oil box 20 through the tube 23 and the hole 26.
The spring 27 thus always automatically pushes the slide 15 into the position in which the piston 10 is pressed by the pressure fluid into its position shown in FIG. 3. By arbitrarily pressing the pedal 16 or the lever 17, the ax can be controlled as desired, similar to the bear of a steam hammer, that is, its stroke can be changed as desired within the maximum possible stroke.
By using a foot step to control the hydraulic fluid, the operator has both hands free.
