Camera. The object of the present invention is a camera, using a film 6 cm wide and approximately 1.80 m long, rolled up in a magazine without protective tape and allowing the shooting of forty views 4.5 X 6. It is characterized by a device acting on the film. so that the advancing movement thereof is interrupted when it has advanced the length of an image.
The appended drawing represents, by way of examples and schematically, three embodiments of the camera forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation of the first embodiment with the cover assumed to be removed.
F'ig. 2 is a side view, taken from the right of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a partial elevation of the second. form of execution; only the parts necessary for the understanding of the invention being shown. Fig. 4 relates to the third embodiment and only shows the organs necessary for driving the film.
The camera shown in Figs. 1 and 2 present a debtor magazine 1 intended to receive a film 6 cm wide and approximately 1.80 m long and a receiving magazine 2 in which the printed film is wound up. The magazine 1 is put in place after having removed the cover (not shown) of the device.
In order not to lose any part of the film, a strip of paper is glued at the start of the film, which does not have a protective tape, this strip of paper being rolled up on the reel of magazine 2 to drive the film. . On the path traveled by the film, between magazine 1 and magazine 2, the latter passes between a rubber roller 3 and another roller (not shown) secured to the cover and which presses the film against the rubber roller 3 when closing the cover. The diameter of roll 3 is such that this roll 3 makes exactly one revolution as the film advances one frame length, i.e. 4.5 cm, so that the film can be used for taking of forty views of 4.5 X 6.
The apparatus further comprises, like other known apparatuses, a window 4 for the film, housings 5 for a shutter â. curtains, a range finder 6 and a viewfinder 7. These devices are not described in more detail, being already known. 8 designates a nose for closing the cover.
On the axis of the receiving magazine 2 is mounted a knurled knob 11 for driving the film. By its advance, the film drives the rubber roller 3. On the axis of the roller 3 is mounted a wheel 18 which controls, in a manner not shown, the winding of the curtain shutter and a wheel 13 'which is blocked at each turn by a not shown tilting pawl. In this way, the driving of the film is stopped when the roller 3 has made a revolution, due to the fact that the film is pressed between this roller 3 and the roller integral with the cover. The film thus advanced the length of a frame.
During this advance, a toothed wheel 12, mounted on the axis of the roller 3, has driven a toothed wheel 14 driving an image counter 14 '. The wheel 14 being slightly larger than the wheel 12, 10 image counter, for each revolution of the axis of the roller 3, makes a little less than one revolution, which makes it possible to count the shots. 15 designates a button <B> dice </B> poses, from T = 1 second to 1a000. On the axis of the debtor magazine 1 is mounted a knurled knob 16 making it possible to stretch the part of the film located between the two magazines.
17 designates the button <B> of </B> release of the shutter with curtain. When this button is pressed for triggering, the latter acts on the tilting pawl in order to unlock the wheel 13 '. The latter will therefore be able to turn again and advance by one revolution when the button 11 is acted upon. At the end of this revolution, the tilting pawl again locks the wheel 13 'in order to stop the film which has again advanced the length of an image and it will be prevented from advancing until the next release of the curtain shutter by button 17.
It can be seen that, by this device, the advance movement of the film is interrupted when it has advanced the length of an image. In addition, in this apparatus, a single movement of the button 11 controls the advance of the film and the cocking of the shutter.
There is schematically shown at 9 a knife making it possible to cut the film after taking any number of frames. This knife is ordered from outside. After taking a picture, if we want to develop the pictures already taken, before resetting the shutter, we act on the knife 9 to cut the film. We roll up the impressed film. The cover is then removed. At this moment, two springs shown dry matically at 10 press on the end of the virgin film in order to prevent it from being wound up in the debtor magazine 1. The magazine 2 is taken out and replaced by an empty magazine.
A strip of paper is then glued to the end of the blank film, which strip is wound up on the reel of the new magazine 2. The cover is replaced and the shooting can be continued without any length of the film being lost when cutting the film.
The apparatus shown further comprises a threaded hole 18 to receive a foot. In 19 is a frosted glass, which can be replaced by a frame for close shots. 20 is the re-entrant tube of the objective, the advance and retreat of which are controlled by a lever 21. 22 represents the objective.
The device partially. shown in fig. 3 also comprises a debtor magazine and a receiving magazine, but only the reel of the receiving magazine is shown. This coil can be driven by a knurled knob 1 '. Between the supply and take-up reels, this device does not have a rubber roller. On the axis of the take-up reel is mounted a toothed wheel 2 'of ten teeth, for example. This wheel 2 ′ drives another toothed wheel 3 ′, of one hundred teeth, for example.
This wheel 3 'is integral with the sleeve 4' having a screw thread on its periphery. A tilting pawl 5 'is mounted smoothly on an axis 6' so that this pawl can follow the thread of the sleeve 4 ', the pawl being held in the thread by a spring. Forty holes 7 'are provided inside the screw thread in which the end of the pawl is placed to stop the advance of the film.
The arrangement is such that the wheel 3 'will make four turns for the forty views of the film, hence the need for the sleeve 4' with a pitch: - screws for the arrangement of the forty holes corresponding to the forty stops of the film. The space between the holes 7 'will not be invariable but will decrease from the beginning to the end of the thread, in order to take account of the variation in the diameter of the film being wound up on the receiving reel.
The arrangement of the holes 7 ′ is therefore such that, when the knob 1 ′ is turned, the film is drawn along the length of an image; after which the pawl 5 'falls into a hole 7' of the sleeve 4 'and stops the driving device. When a new advance of the film must take place, it is necessary to act by hand on the tilting pawl 5 ′ to unlock the positive device.
For the rest, this apparatus can be analogous to that of figs. 1 and 2 and have a curtain shutter, a knife for cutting the film after taking any number of shots, etc. But in this apparatus, the winding of the shutter and the film advance device are independent of each other.
In the third embodiment dried matically shown in FIG. 4, the camera has a central shutter lens to be armed, not a curtain shutter. It has a 2 "lever for winding the shutter; this lever can be pulled up for winding. In its movement, it drives a 3" lever pivoting around a fixed point 4 ".
The free end of the lever 3 "has a toothed sector 6" coming into engagement with a toothed pinion 7 "mounted on the axis of a rubber roller, similar to that with which the apparatus of FIGS. 1 and 2. The rocking movement of lever 3 "is such that it drives the rubber roller so that it makes one revolution, which corresponds to the length of a frame. On the axis of the rubber roller is also mounted a wheel 8 "having a single tooth 8" 'which, at each turn, comes into motion with a toothed wheel 9 "of an image counter which moves in front. a 10 "mark.
When the picture is taken, the lever 2 "is returned to the position shown in the figure, while the pinion 7" comes back freewheeling. Lever 3 "is formed of two parts 5" and 5 <B> '</B> capable of smoothing relative to each other depending on the advance of the lens: For the rest, this camera presents the same characteristics as that of FIGS. 1 and 2.
It is also intended to use a film 6 cm wide and approximately 1.80 m long, rolled up in a magazine without protective tape, for taking forty shots 4,5 y 6 and it can also be provided with a cutter for cutting the film after taking any number of frames, without losing a film length.
