Description

Method and device for removing, in particular, broken off axle stubs from vehicles. Experience shows that breaks on rear-wheel drive thru axles in motor vehicles occur in 95% of all cases at the point where the keyways begin, which are inserted into the differential. While the long part of the quick-release axle can be easily removed, the broken-off key slot stub always remains stuck in the differential bevel gear. The stump, although it sits relatively lightly, cannot be removed because it cannot be grasped with any tools. This makes it necessary that the differential must be disassembled.

To dismantle and reassemble the same, according to practical experience, 7 to 8 working hours for cars and 8 to 12 working hours for trucks are required. In addition, the car lying on the road with a broken axle always has to be towed to a workshop. In all cases in which the differential has to be dismantled, the 0 1 in it must be drained and replaced with a new 01 .. 1 to 2 liters for passenger cars and 8 to 6 liters for trucks necessary. New small materials, such as seals, split pins, screws, etc., also arise.

There is also the fact that such a car fails in its work for at least 10 to 15 hours due to the dismantling of the differential, which is very disruptive, especially in trucks.

The invention is based on the object of eliminating these shortcomings, that is, the removal of a broken axle stuck in the differential without disassembling the differential on the spot to -possible. The inven tion is intended to shorten the repair time for cars to 1 to 11/2 and for trucks to 1 hour. At very cheap. A new axle should be able to be installed in just 10 to 15 minutes.

In addition, the invention is intended to enable the removal of stuck axles or other iron parts that do not offer any mechanical grip from the outside to remove them from their position, even in vehicles that are not designed as motor vehicles. .

According to the invention, the removal takes place electromagnetically, for example with the aid of a rod which is to be pushed into the axle funnel housing up to the stub to be removed and is provided with an electromagnet at its end.

The accompanying drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the device according to the invention.

A hollow rod a, for example 80 cm long and 25 mm thick, has at one end a hollow round iron core b, 15 cm long and 21 mm thick, around which a wire coil c is wound. Inside the rod is an electrical double connection cable d, which is led out at the other end of the rod approximately in a length of 4 to 5 meters and for the electrical connection of the coil c with a power source, for. B. a vehicle battery, using clamps twick e or the like. The rod a carries an insulated handle f, z. B. made of rubber, and next the same a push button switch g to close and open the coil circuit.

The device, which is connected to the battery, is introduced to the point where the remaining part of the axle is still in the differential after the long broken axle stub has been removed in the event of an axle break at the wheel axle point of the car concerned. When the electric current is switched on, the loose part, which is otherwise intangible from the outside, is attracted electromagnetically. The process only takes a few seconds. The electromagnet develops a great pulling force and can remove any stub axle, even in unfavorable conditions.

Any chips that are stored laterally at the point of the broken axle in the differential can also be removed with the device. In the iron core b there is a thread for screwing in a search rod h. This consists for example of G mm round iron and can be up to 150 mm long. This search bar offers the opportunity to get iron objects out of housings, holes, guides, sockets, etc. electromagnetically.
