L'on conçoit en outre que cette construc tion permet: 10 de réduire le travail absorbé. en sub stituant aux frottements de glissement des frottements de roulement; 20 d'atteindre une vitesse de rotation éle vée, en conservant le même rendement volu métrique à n'importe quel régîmg;
rotary vane machine. The present invention relates to a rotary machine comprising vanes and an eccentric rotor rotating in a fixed cylinder or stator, such as compressors, vacuum pumps, rotary motors, refrigerating machines, overhead vacuum cleaners, fans. and, in general, any pumps or motors applied to fluids.
In the various types of devices of this kind known to date, the shaft, eccentric with respect to the star .or, actuates: directly or is actuated directly by a rotor provided with sliding vanes which come into contact with the wall of the stator under the action of a centrifugal force.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, a high speed rotary machine forming a positive displacement fan.
In the machine described, the control shaft is coaxial with the stator and carries the articulated palettes is, ur him. These vanes are radial and all equal to the radius of the stator.
It will be appreciated that the centrifugal force coming from the rotation of the vanes does not act on the stator wall, but that it is balanced on the drive shaft.
In addition, the rotor is constituted by a cylinder divided into seobeurs and drives the vanes: using rectilinear segments subjected to the action of springs placed in the housings of the segments and whose the aim is to ensure the tightness of the pallets and to act as a shock absorber when starting or accelerating the machine.
This rotor, placed in an offset position with respect to the stator, rotates in rolling bearings, preferably needle bearings, and receives its control by sliding plates and crank pins. It could also be driven by any other coupling device allowing high rotational speeds.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the machine following line 1-1 of FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal section along line 2-2 of FIG. 1.
The machine consists of a fixed cylindrical body or stator 2 with axis 0, carrying the inlet 3 and discharge 4 ports.
A control shaft 5 rotates coaxially with the stator in two closing flanges 6 forming bearings.
Inside the stator and concentrically with the shaft 5 are mounted. on the latter radial vanes 7 of length equal to the radius of the stator. These pallets are. articulated on rolling needles 8 and are arranged analogously to hinge elements.
The vanes 7 are driven by the rotor 9 of axis 0 ', eccentric with respect to the stator by the distance 0-0'. This rotor is divided into equal sectors 10 comprising longitudinal grooves 11 serving as housings at d-c: _:
rectilinear sealing segments 12, subjected to the action of flat springs 13, the role of which is to apply the segments to the faces of the vanes, to ensure the seal along said vanes, and to form shock absorbers when starting or accelerating from my china.
The assembly of the rotor sectors.) Is carried out by two flanges 14 receiving needle bearings 15 centered along the axis 0 'in the closing flanges 6.
In order to allow verification (the rotor bearings without having to disassemble the needles, a shouldered ring lki and a stop plate 17 integral with the flanges 14 retaining the needles are provided on their raceway.
Screws 18, embedded in the flanges, drive the sectors of the rotor. The sectors are centered by a circular bead 19 machined in the drag flanges 14.
The drive mechanism .de the ma chine is made as follows: on the one hand, the drive shaft 5 carries at its ends two slide plates 20 keyed to the shaft, and. Rests on two wheels. - ball elements 21 housed in the closing flanges 6, on the other hand,
the flanges 14 of the rotor each carry a roller journal 22 which engages in the slide of the plates 20.
The operation of the machine is as follows: The control arm drives, at the same speed, the rotor by the mechanism described above; the rotor drives the vanes with the center of rotation <on the shaft.
Due to the eccentricity of the axes of rotation 0 and 0 ', the paddles travel through variable spaces passing from a maximum to a minimum, which results in the camprc9sion or the depression of the fluid admitted into the machine.
The action of the centrifugal force is absorbed by the rolling needles 8 of the pallets; there is no friction other than that of the sealing segments 12.
It can also be seen that this construction makes it possible: 10 to reduce the work absorbed. by substituting the sliding friction for rolling friction; 20 to achieve a high rotational speed, maintaining the same volumetric efficiency at any speed;
30 to reduce the bulk for a given volumetric displacement.
