Description
<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 214179. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Triarylmethanfarbstoifes. Gegenstand des vorliegenden Zusatzpaten tes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Triarylmethanfarbstoffes, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daB man 4-Chlor-3'-ogy- 4'-carbogybenzophenon mit 1-Methyl-2-phe- nylindol kondensiert,
das so erhaltene Kon densationsprodukt zur Monosulfonsäure sul- foniert und die so erhaltene Sulfonsäure mit N-Methyl-p-phenetidin verschmilzt. <I>Beispiel:</I> 276,5 Gewichtsteile 4 - Chlor - 3'- ogy - 4' carbogybenzophenon werden mit 207 Ge wichtsteilen 1-Methyl-2-phenylindol in 3000 Gewichtsteilen alkoholischer Salzsäure durch kurzes, z. B. halbstündiges Kochen unter RückfluBkühlung kondensiert.
Durch Fällen mit Wasser wird das Kondensationsprodukt isoliert und nach dem Trocknen mit der zehn fachen Gewichtsmenge 10%igem Oleum bei 25 C sulfoniert. Die freie Sulfonsäure wird getrocknet und mit der dreifachen Gewichts menge N-Methyl-p-phenetidin bei etwa 70 C etwa 1 Stunde verschmolzen. Nach dem Aus rühren des überschüssigen N-Methyl-p-phene- tidins mit verdünnter Salzsäure wird der Farbstoff als Natriumsalz isoliert.
Er färbt Wolle in grünen Tönen, die durch Nachchro- mieren bei vollerem Ton deutlich verbesserte Echtheiten zeigen. Der Farbstoff hat die Formel

the condensation product obtained in this way sulphonates to monosulphonic acid and the sulphonic acid thus obtained fuses with N-methyl-p-phenetidine. <I> Example: </I> 276.5 parts by weight of 4 - chlorine - 3'- ogy - 4 'carbogybenzophenone are mixed with 207 parts by weight of 1-methyl-2-phenylindole in 3000 parts by weight of alcoholic hydrochloric acid by brief, e.g. B. condensed boiling under reflux for half an hour.
The condensation product is isolated by precipitation with water and, after drying, sulfonated with ten times the amount by weight of 10% strength oleum at 25 ° C. The free sulfonic acid is dried and fused with three times the amount by weight of N-methyl-p-phenetidine at about 70 ° C. for about 1 hour. After the excess N-methyl-p-phenetidine has been stirred off with dilute hydrochloric acid, the dye is isolated as the sodium salt.
It dyes wool in green shades, which, after chroming, show significantly improved fastness properties with a full shade. The dye has the formula
