Description
<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 213419. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn man 2,4-Dimethyl-6-chlormethylphenol mit Thioharnstoff umsetzt.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in Ge genwart eines Lösungsmittels, wie Aceton, vorgenommen.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt eine schwach gelbgefärbte Kristallmasse dar, die in Wasser leicht löslich ist und deren wässerige Lösung auf Zusatz von Natriumcarbonat einen unlöslichen Niederschlag abscheidet. Es kann als Textilhilfsstoff verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Man löst 5,1 Gewichtsteile 2,4-Dimethyl- 6-chlormethylphenol, welches beispielsweise durch Umsetzen des o-Mesitylalkohols mit Salzsäuregas in bekannter Weise erhalten werden kann, in 20 Volumteilen Aceton. Dazu werden unter Rühren bei Raumtemperatur nach und nach 2,7 Gewichtsteile fein pulve risierter Thioharnstoff gegeben. Das Reaktions produkt scheidet sich in Form von farblosen Kristallen aus. Nach einstündigem Rühren bei Raumtemperatur ist die Umsetzung beendet.
Nach dem<B>Ab</B> filtrieren wird das neue Produkt als schwach gelbgefärbte Kristallmasse er halten, die in Wasser leicht löslich ist und deren wässerige Lösung auf Zusatz von Na- triumcarbonat sofort einen unlöslichen Nieder schlag abscheidet.
<B> Additional patent </B> to main patent no. 213419. Process for the production of a new condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if 2,4-dimethyl-6-chloromethylphenol is reacted with thiourea.
The reaction is expediently carried out in the presence of a solvent such as acetone.
The new condensation product is a pale yellow-colored crystal mass which is easily soluble in water and the aqueous solution of which separates an insoluble precipitate on addition of sodium carbonate. It can be used as a textile auxiliary.
<I> Example: </I> 5.1 parts by weight of 2,4-dimethyl-6-chloromethylphenol, which can be obtained, for example, by reacting o-mesityl alcohol with hydrochloric acid gas in a known manner, in 20 parts by volume of acetone. To this end, 2.7 parts by weight of finely powdered thiourea are gradually added at room temperature with stirring. The reaction product separates out in the form of colorless crystals. After stirring for one hour at room temperature, the reaction has ended.
After the <B> Ab </B> filtration, the new product is obtained as a pale yellow-colored crystal mass, which is easily soluble in water and whose aqueous solution immediately separates an insoluble precipitate upon addition of sodium carbonate.
