Description

Fig. 1 zeigt die Armlehne in ihrer Nor mallage.

Device for attaching and adjusting armrests on seating and reclining furniture. The main patent relates to a device for attaching and adjusting armrests on seating and reclining furniture, with a rod-shaped holder set up for attachment to the armrest and a snapper arranged at its lower end and a sleeve with a directed for attachment to the furniture corresponding to the cross-section of the holder rod and an axial displacement of the same in the sleeve allowing,

The sleeve is provided at the upper end with a lateral opening for the passage of one end of the same projecting in the pivot position of the holder rod and on the side opposite this passage opening with a saddle for the support and support of the pivoted holder rod.

The present invention is a further embodiment of the invention protected by the main patent, which consists in the fact that the Schnepper is formed by a tiltable trap with two arms of unequal weight, the arrangement being made so that the trap is under the action of gravity seeks to assume a position in which the heavier arm protrudes from the holder rod, in such a way that this protruding arm in one direction, when pulling the holder rod out of the sleeve,

the movement of the holder rod when meeting on a stop is limited and when moving the holder rod in the opposite direction when hitting a stop withdraws without resistance in the holder rod and no longer protrudes in this position from the holder rod.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown as an example, namely: Fig. 1 shows the device in the normal position of the armrest, in section along the line II in Fig. 2, Fig. 2 is a section along the line II- II in Fig. 1, Fig. 3 shows a section similar to Fig. 1 with the armrest in a first pivoted position, Fig. 4 is a section with the armrest in a second pivoted position,

Fig. 5 shows the lower part of the holder rod partially in section along the line V-V in Fig. 6, and Fig. 6 is a view of the details provided in Fig. 5 in the direction of arrow A seen.

In the example shown, 1 denotes the narrow side of a piece of furniture to sit and lie on. A sleeve 3 with a square cross-section is attached to this by means of two screws 2 with countersunk heads, in such a way that the upper sleeve end, which is provided with a bevel 81, projects slightly beyond the narrow side 1. At the upper end, the sleeve 3 is provided with a rectangular opening 31> on the side facing the narrow side 1. A rod-shaped holder 4, which is also square in cross section, is arranged axially displaceably in the sleeve 3.

An armrest 7 is attached to this by means of a wood screw 5 with a countersunk head and a round head screw 6. For a very resistant connection between the armrest and the support rod 4, glue is also provided between these parts (not visible in the drawing). At the lower end of the holder rod has a snap. This consists of a latch 8, which is arranged in a slot 4 ° (FIG. 5) and can be tilted about an axis of rotation 4r ', with two arms 8a and 8b of unequal weight.

The arrangement is such that, under the effect of gravity, the trap tries to assume a position in which the heavier arm 811 protrudes from the elder stick 4, as can be clearly seen in FIG. The other arm 811 is supported against the base 4 of the slot 411. 4d and 4e denote two notches in the holder rod, which are transverse to its axis.

Fig. 1 shows the armrest in its Nor mallage. The head of the round head screw 6 serves as a stop. He abuts in this position (Fig. 1) on the sleeve 3 and thereby prevents ver further sliding of the holder rod 4 in the sleeve. If the armrest is to be removed, for example while the furniture is being transported, or for any other reason, the elder stick is simply pulled out of the sleeve by a corresponding pull on the armrest.

As a rule, two such sleeves and holder rods are arranged per armrest. If, on the other hand, the armrest is to be pivoted into the position shown in FIG. 3, for example, the holder rod 4 is again pulled out of the sleeve 3 by a corresponding train on the armrest, until the arrn 8 "at which the passage - Opening 3 ″ limiting upper edge 3 (Fig. 1) is present.

Once at this point, the trap 8 opposes the further withdrawal of the elder stick from the sleeve. When the armrest is inclined, as soon as this resistance can be felt, the armrest and the holder rod are pivoted in the sense of the arrow B shown in FIG. The holder rod 4 comes to rest on the one hand with the notch 4a against the saddle 3d,

while rend he is supported on the other hand against the upper edge 3e of the opening 3b and at the same time passes through this opening.

If the armrest is to be pivoted further into the position shown in FIG. 4, the armrest is raised a little, while at the same time Durclrstofieri through the sleeve 3 in the direction of the arrow C shown in FIG. 3, until the saddle 311 in the notch 4e falls, which is felt by a small jerk. If you let go of the armrest, it will lower itself under its own weight.

The armrest is returned to its normal position by simply swiveling it in the opposite direction to the direction of arrow B and then pushing the holder rods into the sleeves 3. The arm 8a strikes the lower edge of the opening 3b and 3b made in the sleeve 4 is pushed into the holder rod without resistance when the holder rod is pushed down further, so that the same no longer protrudes from the holder rod.

Conversely, the arm falls out of the holder rod under the action of gravity as soon as the arm 8a is in the region of the opening 3b when the rod 4 is pulled out and thus acts as a lock.

Should the armrest or If the holder 4 is completely pulled out of the sleeve 3, the arm 811 is held in the holder rod with a finger etc. while sliding past the opening 3b, or the same is pulled out of the sleeve 3 very quickly, which means that the arm 8a does not find time to fall into the opening 3b.

Instead of as shown in the example shown, the catches 4d and 4e could also be arranged on the opposite side of the holder rod in such a way that they would interact with the upper boundary edge of the opening 3b instead of the saddle 3d.
