Description
Streamlined rear engine vehicle with cooling air intake at the front. In the case of streamlined rear-engined vehicles, there is usually a significant negative pressure at the rear of the vehicle when driving rapidly. It is therefore very difficult to supply a sufficient amount of cooling air to the engine, even if it is equipped with very effective fans. There were already front be sensitive cooling air inlets propose, from which the air is fed through ducts to the engine located in the rear. The higher the temperature of the outside air, the more cooling air has to be supplied, but this cannot be achieved by simple means in closed streamlined bodies, e.g. B. by. mere enlargement of the openings can be achieved.
According to the invention, part of the cooling air is passed directly through the interior of the body.
Advantageously, the cooling air from the front part of the vehicle, on which there is significant overpressure when driving fast, is passed through openings and channels to the front wall of the body interior, where it enters the passenger compartment through openings that can be regulated by means of flaps, in order to pass the seats in the Rear wall of the space arranged openings and flow from these to the engine compartment. This training has the advantage that the cooling air passes through the interior of the body without the passengers being hindered. On the contrary, effective ventilation of the interior is achieved.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is shown schematically in horizontal section.
In the front part 1 of the vehicle suction openings 2 and channels 3 are provided through which the air on the inside of the fenders is guided to the control flaps 4 on the front wall of the passenger compartment. At the side of the front seats 5 are baffles 6 for the air and on the rear seats 7 the openings 8 closing control flaps 9 are provided, of which channels 10 lead to openings in the rear wall of the passenger compartment and on to the engine compartment 11 in the rear of the body .
Instead of outside the seats between these and the body side walls respectively. The doors can also be used to guide the air between the seats. The air can also be routed through the front part of the vehicle, for example.
In the engine compartment, the air is drawn in by blowers or fans.
