Lounger with adjustable headboard. The subject matter of the present invention is a piece of furniture with an adjustable head part, which is characterized in that a screw spindle, which is operatively connected to an electric motor and serves to change the inclination position of the head part, is articulated on the head part, and that two can be influenced by a control member arranged on the head part. Switching elements located in the motor circuit are provided, the whole in such a way that
that a pivoting of the head part through the switched on electric motor beyond two limit inclination positions is excluded.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject invention is Darge: Fig. 1 and 2 show a longitudinal section through the end of the furniture bearing the head section, the head section being shown in the possible end positions, while in Fig. 3 a section according to the Line 111-11I in Fig. 2, seen in the indicated direction of the arrow, is shown, With 1, the frame of the reclining furniture is marked, 2 is the head part hinged to the frame 1 at one end.
The head part 2 has a cross member 3 to which one end of a screw spindle 4 is articulated. This screw spindle 4 passes through an electric motor 5 in its axial direction, which motor is set up for intermittent reversing operation. On the motor sit two rods 6, which in turn sit rotatably in bearings 7 arranged on the frame 1, so that the position of the motor adapts itself to the respective position of the screw spindle at the different inclination positions of the head part.
On the head part 2, a control arm 8 is fastened, the free end of which can swing back and forth between two switches 9 and 10 arranged on the frame. These two switches are located in the motor current circuit (not shown) and are each moved into the current interruption position by the arm 8 approaching, so that the head part cannot be swiveled via the two extreme inclination positions shown in FIGS the latter can be changed by changing the position of the two switches.
The motor 5 can be switched on by means of a holder, not shown, which is expediently arranged in such a way that it can be operated by the person in the lying position of the person using the furniture. The circuit is expediently provided in such a way that the motor circuit is closed for the duration of the actuation of this switch and the head part is pivoted until the circuit is interrupted via this switch. This makes it possible, please include to set any desired inclination of the head part, which is possible within the limit positions caused by the two switches.
If, for example, the head part is raised from the low position, the direction of rotation remains unchanged until the inclined position determined by the switch 9 is reached if said switch is continuously actuated. Through the arm 8, the switch 9 is moved into the current interruption position in this inclined position while the circuit of a circuit is prepared so that when it closes via the switch, not shown, the motor rotates in the opposite direction and lowers the head part. The same is the case when the arm 8 operates the switch 10.
Such a circuit can also be provided that when the switch (not shown) is actuated briefly, the head part automatically changes from one limit inclination position to the other.
This design of the adjustment means it is possible for the person using the piece of furniture to adjust the head part without outside help, which is not the case with the lifting devices known up to now. This lifting device is therefore particularly suitable for hospital beds, although it can easily be used with any other piece of furniture. pivotable head part can be attached.
The adjustment device described is simple to design and therefore cheap to manufacture.
Instead of being connected to the existing power line, the electric motor can be connected to an electric battery housed in the hospital bed.
