Sur ce bâti est fixé un bras 3 s'étendant à l'intérieur de la cheminée et portant l'articulation d'un levier 2 qui cons titue, avec une lame bimétallique 4 et avec une bielle 5, un dispositif destiné à régler le tirage des gaz chauds dans la cheminée; la lame 4 est fixée par une de ses extrémités sur le levier 2 et articulée à son autre extré mité avec la bielle 5 qui la relie à un volet 6 monté rotativement sur un axe 7 allant d'un bord à l'autre d'une ouverture pratiquée dans la plaque 12;
Dans la fig. 5, .le levier 2,, du dispositif destiné à régler le tirage est entièrement dans la cheminée. Il présente une fente 22 que traverse une cheville 23 solidaire d'un coulis- seau 24;
Heating installation. The present invention relates to a heating installation with a combustion chamber, comprising thermostatic means regulating the admission of outside air into the hot gas discharge duct of the fireplace and consequently regulating the heating regime. combustion by the air intake under the grill.
This installation is characterized in that a shutter capable of closing an opening made in said duct, is movable about an axis going from one edge to the other of said opening, and in that it comprises a blade thermostatic extending inside the duct, kinematical linkage members between this slat and the shutter, as well as a device for adjusting the relative positions of the slat and, of the shutter at determined temperatures, device which comprises an operating member accessible from outside the duct, so that the desired combustion rate can be predetermined.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of examples, various embodiments of the installation forming the subject of the invention. Figs. 1, 2 and 3 respectively show three embodiments by semi-schematic sectional views.
Fig. 4 shows a detail seen from the right of FIG. 3.
Figs. 5 and 6 show respectively a fourth and a fifth embodiment; fig. 7 shows a detail seen @from the right of FIG. 6 -and fig. 8 a variant of an idetail of this FIG. 6 on an extended scale.
Fig. 9 is a semi-schematic section of a sixth embodiment.
In fig. 1, 1 is a chimney for evacuating hot gases from a hearth, not shown, of a heating installation. A frame consisting of a plate 12 closes an opening made in the wall of this chimney.
On this frame is fixed an arm 3 extending inside the chimney and carrying the articulation of a lever 2 which constitutes, with a bimetallic blade 4 and with a connecting rod 5, a device intended to adjust the draft. hot gases in the fireplace; the blade 4 is fixed by one of its ends on the lever 2 and articulated at its other end with the connecting rod 5 which connects it to a flap 6 rotatably mounted on an axis 7 going from one edge to the other of a opening made in the plate 12;
this shutter is arranged so that it can close the opening made in the plate 12 and allowing the entry of outside air into the chimney with a view to reducing the draft. The axes of the articulations of the connecting rod 5 on the blade and on the shutter. are parallel to axis 7. The weight of the connecting rod and the blade tends to tilt the lever 2 which is retained by its end against a cam 11 fixed to the end of a shaft 9 to rotate in a barrel 8 integral with the plate 12 and extending inside the chimney.
This shaft 9 protrudes outside, where it carries an operating button 10 and an indicator needle 9a, the position of which can be marked by divisions not shown traced on the face of plate 12.
It is understood that the operating button 10 makes it possible to act on the cam 11 which determines the opening angle of the shutter for a determined curvature of the blade 4, curvature which depends on the temperature of the gas circulating in the chimney.
The opening position is thus determined for any temperature higher than that for which the shutter completely closes the opening if things are adjusted so that this closing is possible, which is not essential in all cases, the permanence of a slight draft which may be desirable at lower temperatures.
The blade 4 can deform freely. around the. right by opening the shutter when it warms up. In order for the flap to close the opening between two determined temperature limits, the edges of this opening may have edges. Such edges could belong to the shutter itself.
In fig. 2, the lever 2a of the device for adjusting the draft is shaped and mounted so that one of its arms passes through a slot 13 of the plate 12, a cam lln being mounted outside the chimney to act on that arm. This cam is integral with a needle 14 and an operating handle 15.
In fig. 3: the lever 2b of the device intended to adjust the draft also extends outside the chimney, where it has a forked end. An ankle 17, integral with a vertical rod 18, passes through a slot 16 of this fork.
The rod 18 passes through a fixed console 20; a spring 19 is interposed between this console and the lever 2b and a maneuvering chicken 21, screwed on a threaded part of the rod 18, allows the position of the device intended to adjust the ti rage to be adjusted with respect to the fixed parts of the installation, with the same effects as in fig. 1 and 2.
If the shutter encounters a stop when it closes the opening made in the plate such as 12, stop such as is shown at 39 in FIG. 6, the blade, curving to the left, tends to turn the lever 2b clockwise and, therefore,
compressing the spring 19 <it is chosen weak enough so that the blade can withstand the necessary force without damage.
It should be noted that the forces applied to the blade 4 are minimal, because the shutter 6 is practically in indifferent equilibrium around its axis and it is mounted so that it can follow all the movements of the free end of blade 4.
In fig. 5, the lever 2 ,, of the device intended to adjust the draft is entirely in the chimney. It has a slot 22 through which an ankle 23 integral with a slide 24 passes;
this slide can be moved in a slot 25 in the wall in which it is fixed by a bolt 26 provided with a wing nut 28 directly accessible by hand.
The slide 24 has a horizontal index 27 for locating its position in front of a scale, not shown. Nut 28 is therefore loosened, the slide is brought to the desired position and said nut is tightened.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 6 and 7. it is the shutter 6 which has a slot 34 in which can be moved a slide which can be made integral with the shutter by a bolt 35 to the chicken 28. The blade 4 is connected to the shutter by means of a connecting rod made of two parts 5a and 5b which can be made integral with one another by a clamping member 29, the part% being articulated on the blade 4 and the part 5b on the head of the bolt 35.
The slide carries an index 38 extending transversely in front of a graduation traced on the external facsimile of the shutter. The opening angle of the shutter which corresponds to a given deformation of the blade is increased by bringing the slide closer to the axis 7 of the shutter, and vice versa.
A lever 2,1 is rotatably mounted on an arm 32 which screws 33 fix to an inner arm 12a of the plate 12; the position of the arm 32 can be modified, the two arms 12 and 32 each having several holes such as the holes 33a shown in FIG. 8, which can receive 33 screws.
In addition, the lever 2,1 has an arm 30 which can optionally be elastic and by which it takes support on the fixed arm 32 by means of a spring 31 arranged between these arms 30 and 32. This spring has The effect is to limit the mechanical deformations of the blade 4 in one direction or the other if the stroke of the shutter is limited by two stops, the spring 31 working either for extension or for compression.
Fig. 8 shows a variant of the latter device in which the lever 2d is integral with two arms 36 and 37 coming against the arm 32 to rest on it by means of a compression spring 35a held in place. placed by an ankle 35 projecting beyond the arm 32 on both sides. A spring 35a can thus be placed on one or the other of the faces or on both, as required.
In the embodiment of FIG. 9, a fixed support 3a, carries the articulation 46a of a lever 46 which is connected by a connecting rod 5a, 5b to a slider, similar to that of FIG. 6, movable in a slot of the shutter 6, slider whose maneuvering chicken is de-signed by 45.
One end of the bi-metallic blade 4 is fixed to the support 3a, and the other carries a rod 41 which freely passes through the lever 46 and which carries, beyond this lever, a head 47 which can be screwed with semi-hard friction. for the adjustment of its position. A flexible blade 40 is fixed to the blade 4 by nuts 42 screwed onto the rod 41; the free end of the blade 40 rests against the lever 46.
The position shown is that which corresponds to the greatest cooling of the blade 4 throwing its end to the left, so that, from the moment the shutter has met the stop 39, the blade 4 has continued to deform while cocking. the blade 40 and moving the head 47 away from the lever 46.
It is therefore understood that the position of this head regulates the temperature from which the blade acts to open the shutter. When closing, the blade 4 acts via the blade 40.
All the regulating elements are accessible by hand, the nut 29 and the head 47 being able to be reached when the shutter is opened, and the chicken 45 being on the outside.
