Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung von 1-Chlor-3-nitro-2-butanol. Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung von 1-Chlor-3- nitro-2-propanol durch Kondensation von Chloracetaldehyd mit Nitromethan.
Es wurde nun gefunden, dass man bei ähnlicher Arbeitsweiso das entsprechende Bu- tanol erhalten kann.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Darstellung von 1 Chlor-3-nitro-2-butanol, das dadurch gekenn zeichnet ist, dass man Chloracetaldehyd mit Nitroäthan kondensiert. Das neue Produkt ist ein schweres 01, das als Zwischenprodukt für die Gewinnung technisch wertvoller Sub stanzen Verwendung finden soll.
<I>Beispiel:</I> Eine Lösung von Chloracetaldehyd in wässriger Salzsäure wird mit Nitroäthan in mässigem Überschuss versetzt, worauf unter gutem Rühren so viel einer wässrigen Pott aschelösung zugegeben wird, bis die Lö sung ganz schwach alkalisch reagiert. Man rührt nun eine Stunde lang bei 45 bis 50 .
Aus dem erhaltenen Reaktionsprodukt, wel ches sich zum Teil in der schweren öligen Schicht, zum Teil in der wässrigen Schicht befindet, erhält man nach bekannten Metho den in guter Ausbeute das I.-Chlor-3-nitro-2- butanol als-ein schweres 01, welches bei etwa 105 bis 115 unter 8 mm Quecksilberdruck siedet.
Process for the preparation of 1-chloro-3-nitro-2-butanol. The subject of the main patent is a process for the preparation of 1-chloro-3-nitro-2-propanol by condensation of chloroacetaldehyde with nitromethane.
It has now been found that the corresponding butanol can be obtained with a similar procedure.
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of 1 chloro-3-nitro-2-butanol, which is characterized in that chloroacetaldehyde is condensed with nitroethane. The new product is a heavy oil that is to be used as an intermediate product for the extraction of technically valuable substances.
<I> Example: </I> A solution of chloroacetaldehyde in aqueous hydrochloric acid is mixed with a moderate excess of nitroethane, whereupon enough of an aqueous pot ash solution is added with thorough stirring until the solution has a very weakly alkaline reaction. The mixture is then stirred at 45 to 50 for one hour.
From the reaction product obtained, which is partly in the heavy oily layer and partly in the aqueous layer, the I.-chloro-3-nitro-2-butanol is obtained as a heavy one by known methods in good yield 01, which boils at around 105 to 115 below 8 mm mercury pressure.
