Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Azoverbindung. Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des Dinatrium- salzes des 2,4-Diaminoazobenzol-di-N-metban- sulfonsäure-4'-sulfonsäureamids, das eine bak terizide Wirkung aufweist. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man auf 2,4-Diaminoazobenzol-4'-sulfonsäureamid in Gegenwart eines Verdünnungsmittels Na- triumformaldehyd-bisulfit einwirken lässt.
Als Verdünnungsmittel verwendet man zweck mässig Äthylenglykol. Aus der Reaktions lösung lässt sich das Natriumsalz der neuen Azoverbindung durch Zusatz von Alkohol abscheiden.
Das so erhältliche Dinatriumsalz des 2,4 Diaminoazobenzol-di-N-methanaulfonsäure-4'- sulfonsäureamids ist ein gelbrotes Pulver, das in Wasser leicht löslich ist. Durch Salz säure wird die neue Verbindung unter Schwe- feldiogydentwicklung zersetzt. Das neue Pro dukt soll therapeutische Anwendung finden. <I>Beispiel:</I> 29,1 g 2,4 - Diaminoazobenzol - 4'- sulfon- säureamid (vergl. D. R.
Patent 607537) wer den in 90 cm3 Äthylenglykol suspendiert und mit 13,4 g Natriumformaldehydbisulfit unter Rühren auf dem Wasserbad erwärmt, bis alles in Lösung gegangen ist und eine Probe,. in Wasser gegossen, klar bleibt. Dann wird in Alkohol gegossen, das ausfallende Natriumsalz des 2,4-Diaminoazobenzol-di-N- methansulfonsäure-4'-sulfonsäureamids abge saugt und mit Alkohol gewaschen. Die Ver bindung ist gelbrot gefärbt und in Wasser sehr leicht löslich. Durch Salzsäure wird sie unter Schwefeldiogydentwicklung und Ab scheidung der ursprünglichen Azoverbindung zersetzt.

The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of the disodium salt of 2,4-diaminoazobenzene-di-N-metban-sulfonic acid-4'-sulfonic acid amide, which has a bactericidal effect. The process is characterized in that 2,4-diaminoazobenzene-4'-sulfonic acid amide is allowed to act in the presence of a diluent sodium formaldehyde bisulfite.
Ethylene glycol is expediently used as the diluent. The sodium salt of the new azo compound can be separated from the reaction solution by adding alcohol.
The disodium salt of 2,4 diaminoazobenzene-di-N-methanaulfonic acid-4'-sulfonic acid amide obtainable in this way is a yellow-red powder which is easily soluble in water. The new compound is decomposed by hydrochloric acid with the evolution of sulfur diogyd. The new product is intended to be used therapeutically. <I> Example: </I> 29.1 g of 2,4 - diaminoazobenzene - 4'-sulfonic acid amide (see D. R.
