3ieehaniseh time fuse with sensitive impact ignition. Mechanical time fuses for artillery projectiles are often provided with Aufschlagzün training, which then comes into effect when the fuse, be it due to unsuitable setting, be it due to a fault, does not go off on time.
To make the igniter cheaper and simpler, as well as to simplify the ignition channels, thereby increasing reliability, it is advantageous if the two types of ignition act on one and the same ignition element, so that only a single primer cap is required. With that impact ignition, which comes into effect through inertia, this condition is met by that an axially movable firing pin carrying the primer pushes against the primer, while with time ignition this latter pushes against the primer.
This device is not possible if sensitive impact ignition is required, which can only be carried out by touching the tip of the projectile with some object, for example the ground, before its airspeed is reduced. With this, the ignition is initiated by axial movement of the Aufschlagstif located in the axis of the movement.
The use of this pin as a firing pin at the same time, whereby the primer, which is also used for the time ignition, must be directly below, is possible and known, only with the so-called dismantling fuses, which do not have an exact time setting rather, the time ignition occurs after a time that is only approximately measured but not adjustable. Here, too, this is only possible if the primer is in an axial position, the initiation of the time ignition having to take place by means of a spring.
On the other hand, the use of only one ignition element for time and sensitive impact ignition in artillery fuses that can be set precisely on time and provided with precise time regulation, in which the primer is pierced in the axial direction by a spring, or in the radial direction by the centrifugal force , not yet known.
This object is achieved by the present invention in that the strike pin is in operative connection with the locking member for the ignition element so that it can bring the locking member into the unlocked position regardless of the timing mechanism.
The structural design of this device can be done, for example, in such a way that the locking member is designed as a shaft which, after being released by the timing mechanism, triggers the ignition organ by its rotation and which is also wholly or partially mounted in a movable piece , .that is released to a displacement movement by the falling impact pin, the displaced shaft also triggering the ignition element.
The movable bearing piece for the locking member can be held in its rest position by a hook that opens the falling impact pin.
The drawing illustrates an example of an igniter according to the invention. 1 shows a plan view of a circuit board with the trigger parts for the Aufschlagzün training, in the position before the impact; Fig. 2 and 3 show the same in the axes cut respectively. ip side view, FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 show, corresponding to the representations of FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the parts in the position after the impact.
The center shaft b of the movement carrying the setting disk a is pierced along its entire length. In this hole the firing pin c leads, which is pressed down on any resistance when the projectile hits. So that this movement cannot be followed when firing, a tube fuse is provided for the firing pin c above the work, but not ge signed. When setting to time ignition, the drop lever e, which is firmly connected to the shaft d, slides with its bent-up end ei on the circumference of the setting disk n driven by the factory until ei falls into the opening ai of the same.
As a result, the shaft d receives a small rotation, as a result of which the ignition element f can pass the cutout di of the shaft d and take effect.
The triggering of the ignition element f he follows on impact of the projectile because the shaft, that is, the locking member d for the ignition element experiences a shift instead of a rotation, and this is made possible by the following device (see Fig. 4, 5 and 6). The lower pin of the shaft d is not mounted in a fixed frame plate, but in a movable piece, the slide g, which has a hook gi at its inner end.
With this, the slide engages with the hook-shaped end hi of a resilient part k, the other end of which is attached to the plate a and which carries a conical elevation h2 near the center of the work.
If the firing pin c is now hit down by the impact of the projectile, its conical tip pushes the cone lay to the side and thus forces part h to bend so far that the hook ends Hook gi leaves. The slide g and the shaft d now give way outwards under the influence of the centrifugal force, see FIGS. 4, 5 and 6, whereby the ignition element is released.
The locking member d could, instead of being stored with only one pin in a movable piece, also with two pins, for example in a movable bridge, which then, held by a suitable hooked connection in the rest position, pin from the falling impact is opened, thereby enabling the bridge and locking element to flow outwards and release the ignition element.
