DC generator finite shunt excitation, for controllable short-circuit current strength, especially for welding purposes. The following requirements are placed on a welding generator: - a) It is possible to set different welding currents (different static characteristics) without using a resistor in the main circuit.
b) Achieving the characteristics required for normal welding operation (dynamic characteristics, see Z. d. V. d. J. 1931, p. 263).
c) Avoidance of excessively large initial short welding currents for ignition, especially when setting small welding currents.
The subject of the invention is a direct current generator with shunt excitation for controllable short-circuit amperage, in particular for welding purposes, wherein the generator carries an auxiliary winding that acts on increasing the field when the main current is to be increased, the two together.
are magnetically rigid gekup pelt, that is in the same magnetic circuit directly next to each other, and there is also a field-weakening winding through which the main current flows, the magnetic coupling of which is released with the first two windings, for the purpose that the auxiliary winding is chained Field with sudden current changes slowly (damped) and the field linked to the main current winding changes as quickly as possible (undamped).
With the exemplary embodiments of the machine described below, these three conditions can be met in a simple and economical manner.
The structure and mode of operation of the machine are to be described using two-pole machines. Analogously, the invention can easily be transferred to a multi-pole machine.
The machine according to FIG. 1 has a main pair of brushes A B, from which the main current of the machine is drawn off in the normal manner, and also a pair of auxiliary brushes which are rotatably arranged. The main poles PH of the stator each have three windings: A shunt winding I connected to the main brushes, a compound winding II, which is fed by the auxiliary brushes a, b, and a countercompound winding III through which the main current flows, whose coupling with the the former is solved by scattering paths. The reversing poles Pw are excited in the normal way.
The mode of operation is as follows: Depending on their position, any voltage within the limits of E can be taken from the auxiliary brushes a, b , where E is the terminal voltage of the machine.
In the .position in the longitudinal nose, the voltage on the auxiliary brushes = zero when idling; if the brush is turned clockwise (position shown), the brush is a , assuming the polarity of the main brushes shown positive compared to b and becomes negative when turned counterclockwise. If the machine is now loaded,
the cross field that now arises in the rotor coils between a and b also induces a voltage with the effect that with brushes a, b lying in the longitudinal axis, brush a becomes steadily more negative than brush b with increasing current .
The voltage on the auxiliary brushes can thus change its polarity between zero and full load when the latter is in a certain position. Thus, through a suitable choice of the position of the auxiliary brushes, a voltage-reducing effect occurs when idling, which disappears with increasing load, i.e. it changes into a voltage-increasing effect because the auxiliary brush voltage now has a field-reinforcing effect.
By turning the auxiliary brush axis out of the polar axis in the direction of rotation, a means is given to keep the no-load voltage of the machine low and, because the level of the same is decisive for the size of the initial short-circuit current, to reduce it. With a suitable choice of saturation, the voltage will initially increase with slow loading, so that a curve according to Fig. 2 is obtained.
The setting of different welding currents can be done from the drawn brush position f by turning the auxiliary brushes. To achieve smaller currents, they must be rotated more in the sense of the direction of rotation; as a result, when the welding currents are set to ever smaller, the counter-compounding in the no-load operation becomes steadily greater, which means that the no-load voltage and thus the instantaneous short-circuit current are smaller, which is desirable.
Instead of turning the auxiliary brushes, it is also possible to use an adjustable series resistor r, Fig. 3, to regulate with a fixed brush position. The auxiliary winding II is to be connected in exactly the same way with regard to connection to the auxiliary brushes and with regard to the direction of winding, as indicated in Fig. 1, only with the difference that a resistor r is switched on at some point in the circuit.
In order to obtain an increasingly smaller surge short-circuit current with decreasing welding currents, it is necessary here, however, to select an auxiliary brush axis g shifted from the pole center against the direction of rotation as the fixed brush position.
The desired dynamic characteristics can be achieved in that the two windings I and II are placed on the part of the pole core remote from the armature, with the countercompounding III also sitting on the pole core being brought as close as possible to the armature and In addition, iron pole pieces c are attached as shown in Fig. 1.
These pole pieces form a magnetic shunt for the purpose of forwarding the opposing field generated by the winding III with as little damping as possible. Because without the presence of this magnetic shunt path, in the event of rapid current changes, the opposing field would be forced to take the path through the self-contained windings I and II, whereby currents would be induced in these currents by the rigid magnetic coupling.
which counteract a rapid change in the opposing field, i.e. would slow down its formation. With the help of the magnetic shunt, this magnetic coupling is loosened so that the change in the flight linked with III is undamped and thus the change in the armature voltage with it. the current takes place quickly. To make this even more effective, it is advisable to lam the yoke, or at least partially, for example by attaching sheets between points d and e, as indicated in the illustration.
The coupling between the exciter windings can also be released in a different way, for example the opposing field can also be generated in a completely separated magnetic circuit. For this purpose, an iron part arranged next to it in the axial direction is used, for example, which is only provided with counter-compound ampere windings; The regulation of the different welding currents is now done, for example, by twisting this iron part in the housing, whereby each position corresponds to a different degree of compounding and thus a different static characteristic.
If two separate iron bodies are used, then winding II can also be a field-reinforcing compound winding excited directly by the main current on the first iron part, and the other iron part, which carries the field-weakening main current winding, as described above, can also be used with the omission of the auxiliary brushes A position of different short-circuit currents can be rotatably arranged in the housing.
Another way of releasing the coupling between the exciter windings would be the following: The reversible pole winding and the reversible pole cores can also be used to form and guide the opposing field, as can be seen in Fig. 4. For this purpose it is only necessary to equip the normal reversible pole shoe S with an additional shoe S "which is brought as close as possible to the anchor iron. The meaning of the designation is otherwise the same as in Fig. 1. This one Arrangement is generated by the reversible pole winding not only the normal commutation field, but with the help of the mentioned pole shoes S 'at the same time the opposing field necessary for a favorable dynamic characteristic.
This has the advantage, on the one hand, that the main poles only carry the shunt winding and the auxiliary winding and, on the other hand, that the magnetomotive forces of these two windings cannot generate an additional stray field, which means that the active stator iron parts can be kept smaller.
